The rooms are institutional-chic. They have moved my Mother around at their discretion. Most of the time the staff have been rude, complaisant, unprofessional to an alarming degree. I have seen absolutely no evidence of their memory care "program". They stopped providing my Mom physical therapy because she did not seem to progress which is a state violation of her rights. Tried to limit her family's visiting; also a violation of state nursing home law. Dishes, cups and mugs are consistently dirty with brown residue inside mugs. Administration doesn't seem to take action upon hearing concerns or complaints and have actually been very unprofessional and threatening towards family member. The quality of care which my Mom receives depends on the Aide ( of which there are a couple of really wonderful Aides) taking care of her at the time and not the general standard of the home, itself.

My dad has been in Episcopal Home for the last three months, and I'm not happy with it. Certain floors are fine, and some of the staff is OK, but some are just there for the money. I am grateful that they have him in a private room. They have several outings a month.

My mom is now in Episcopal Church Home. I know they’re a very good nursing home.

The number one thing about Episcopal Church Home was the interaction of the staff with the clients. They were constantly interacting with them in a caring and patient way. It was not a forced or a bored way. We visited a whole lot of places where you can tell that the staff was going through the motions. I don't blame them because I could not do that job. The residents, until they reach a certain point, have freedom of flow. In other words, they can walk around and meet in the dining area and talk if they want. They can interact if they want. They have access to the food that they can get as much as they want. The room itself is smaller than what we want. My mother-in-law shares a room. It is clean, but it is a little too much like a hospital -- more than what we wanted. The dining room is very pleasant, and the chapel is beautiful, but the other parts didn't feel that way. The grounds are clean and well-kept although not as spacious as some of the other we saw. But they do have a small courtyard area that was very nice.
