We've chosen Rose Villa, and we're on the waitlist. The staff was very nice. We had one lady that took us on a tour and we said hello to several other people that were busy working there. We went to the restaurant and we looked at the menu, but we didn't taste the food. They had a pool and an exercise room with equipment, and they had artist studios that you could rent or share. They had a salon, a barber, and a very nice library. The rooms were very nice. They had a wide range of choices and designs.

Rose Villa was a very cohesive community in which the people seemed to like one another and do things together. The housing was also good. They have a number of separate one and two-bedroom cottages that you can have instead of an apartment. They also have continuing care so if you need memory care or any other kind of care, you can get it there. The staff was quite active and they were generally well regarded. They have all kinds of clubs, art classes, macrame, yoga, and various exercises in the swimming pool. They also have a nice eating facility whose food I liked. I found it tasty and well prepared. Their cooks seemed to put a lot of effort into the food. They have a bus that goes to take you to your doctor's appointments, too.

I'm getting on the waiting list of the Rose Villa. Most of the buildings are cottages, mostly not apartments. It has a lot of outdoor areas with no steps. It's got a lot of sidewalks, but it's all flat. I like that there is a lot of access to the outdoors. The problem is that it is expensive if you want an apartment instead of a cottage, so the cottages are the cheaper alternatives. They have a swimming pool. They actually have an art studio, and it's in a separate building for artists to do their work. There's a whole separate garden area. They actually let the residents organize their own activities, so it's resident-led rather than some activities director. I'm hearing from local people that all the residents there really like it. The marketing people I met were attentive. Their system is that they give you credit for meals each month, and it's in a separate restaurant-like setting that you have to walk to.

Rose Villa had one-level cottages that were a preference for my husband, who didn't care for the high-rises. It seemed to be well laid out. They do a refurbishing of the cottages before you move in. It has a view out to the West across the Willamette River. The cottages are of different sizes; some were one-bedrooms, some were two. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and willing to answer any questions. I had visited them before and had a meal. The food was good. The dining area was more kind of laid out in a restaurant style. I understand that they have a way of encouraging people to mix, to interact with other people, and other folks in the dining hall. They have exercises, a gymnasium, and wood shop. And I think they have some groups that residents are led in, in art and other activities. We're not moved in yet, but I know people that are there have been very happy with the facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our family member was there and was told it was a "continuing care" facility. NOT so! Unless you have thousands of dollars for hiring care, they have no in-house...they hire through a service. They have NO assisted...it's either independent or nursing care. So after approximately 3 years my brother and wife had to move to an assisted facility and lost their entire move in fees! Beware, ask questions and don't fall for slick talk. It cost them about $100,000 to leave. They will say you can hire your needs as an as need basis....ask, who will come in the middle of the night to help to the bathroom? Who will come just to put on a pair of shoes? Not all needs can be planned for on an hourly rate. Go where you can have a TRUE continuous care facility or you may loose a major part of your savings if life changes.

Rose Villa was very well kept up and nicely decorated with bright colors, and they were expanding. The person who assisted us was very nice and very informative. They had a library.

Rose Villa was very nice, but the only thing negative was it was farther away from where my son lived than I liked. The staff was friendly and answered the questions that I have even though I didn’t have an appointment. The dining area was very nice. I liked the grounds; they were very attractive and had lots of flowers and pathways.

Rose Villa isn't a place that we want to move to. We went to a meeting, and I just wasn't impressed. They were in the midst of remodeling. I had eaten there, and it was fine. The service was good, and it's cheaper. There were just parts of it that didn't meet our needs. They didn't have memory care, and I didn't like the neighborhood around it.

Rose Villa is a CCRC with a buy-in. It was nice, kind of a more basic facility. The staff and residents seemed very pleasant and seemed to be very positive about their facility. They did have crafts, outside music come in, speakers, and a very basic exercise facility. They had many people in small duplexes and little cottages on the grounds, and other people live in fairly small basic apartments. They just seemed to be trying very hard to meet the residents' needs.

I visited this facility with a friend who will need assisted living in the future. She has decided to live at this place as soon as their major remodeling is completed. We both liked the facility and all the amenities that it has to offer. She especially liked that there will be a pool. I didn't see or experience anything that would make me uncomfortable. Nice place.

I chose Rose Villa for myself because I eat a vegan lifestyle, and they have selections. They are building a new section, and I'll be moving into it. It is a continuing care community, so I will never need to move again. The staff was very helpful. They have a lot of staff that has been there many years, which is a good sign. I met some people that have generations -- i.e., their parents have lived there -- so there is a very terrific reputation of being caring. Regarding accommodations, they have apartments, and they have what they call cottage homes. I'm going to live in a cottage home. It is spacious for me. Regarding activities, they have all kinds of usual, but the main thing that I'll use is the pool and the gym. They are going to build a large auditorium, and they're going to have many things in there. I have eaten a couple of lunches at Rose Villa, and I thought the food was excellent.
