I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I liked the care, the attention, and the love that the Embassy of Pickerington gave to my dad when he was on hospice services there. The staff was exemplary. The cost was reasonable.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My uncle was in this nursing home after he left the hospital. All the staff we encountered were very kind, lots of smiles. We only had a few concerns come up during the stay, but they were nothing serious and they were quickly addressed by management. The rooms are small, but the kindness of the workers make up for it. My uncle didn't really want to participate in therapy, but the therapists were awesome and figured out ways to get him to work with them. He didn't care for the food, but he was always a picky eater. The food looked fine to me. The CNA's were really good about offering something different if he didn't like what was served. He didn't go to any activities, but that was him choosing not to go, it was nothing against the department. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I visited this facility

My father stayed here after surgery on his neck. He could not get up himself. They never came to take him to the bathroom, my daughter and I came in and washed him and they said for us to stop that they would do it but we did not it had been 3 days and he still had his gown on from the hospital. He needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and somehow made it out of his bed and crawled across the floor to get to the bathroom all the while crying in pain. Don't believe the pictures of these nice rooms either, he was in a tiny room where the foot of his bed and the foot of the other persons bed were up against each other. I WOULD NO LET THESE PEOPLE TAKE CARE OF MY DOG.

I am a friend or relative of resident

If I could give 0 stars I would. My mother in law was in this facility just less than 2 weeks. In that time she was not assisted in taking a shower until the final day. Upon one visit her legs were incredibly swollen. This was not noticed by a nurse and when brought to their attention they didn't show any concern. One morning her blood sugar level was at 60 and she asked for some orange juice. She was told they keep it locked up. The final day she was there she needed assistance getting to the restroom. When her call was not answered she tried to make it on her own and ended up having an accident. She had to yell for someone to help clean her up. We were trying to get her moved to another facility that would better assist her and Pickerington Nursing and Rehab was not helpful. In fact my mother in law got so frustrated she just went home. This she was not ready for. When my husband went and asked for records they weren't even aware she had left. This facility is what gives rehab facilities a bad name.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My wife was here for two and a half weeks. They are understaffed. There will be times when she needed help and pressed the button, but not get it. It wasn't until I went and raised a little bit of hell that she started getting it. She was very weak because of her Lupus and Neuropathy. She keeps falling, and she has to have assistance. All too often she could not get assistance. The food was poor. She has fibermyalgia. She gave them a full list of all the things she was allergic to. Yet they will still give her food that she cannot eat. But when she asks for other food, they would not supply it. Now to me that is wrong. That is why I filed a complaint with the Department of Insurance and the Director of Nursing Home in Ohio. They need to be attentive to the needs of the people. But like I said, they are understaffed, and because of this, they have no one to help the residents. Several times, there were four or five lights that were blinking where people needed help, and there is no one around to help them because they just didn't have the staff. I will say one thing about that was real nice about Pickerington Nursing: it had no odor whatsoever. I've even commented about how clean they kept it.

I am a friend or relative of resident

As a visitor, all I came in contact with from the Receptionist, the Aide, and the Nurse that was taking care of my friend: very approachable, and compassionate with a friendly smile! I was so pleased when I asked my friend how she was doing? When she crabbed my hand and said, I like it here already! As we continued our conversation she commented about the very first day she was there and the Executive Director stopped by with a couple other Managers to welcome her. She said, first impressions are so important when it comes to me being comfortable in a new environment. My friend has since gone home and is doing wonderful !! I just wanted to share her and my friendly and caring experience!! The facility is very appealing, inside and out. A very clean smell and floors looked shiny too!

I visited this facility

My wife was checked in and it took 1-1/2 hrs for nurses to get her situated in her new surroundings. She was made to sit around and wait for someone to attend to her needs and that after her surgery after which she was sent there. There was not enough nursing staff available to attend all patient's needs. It is my own observation quietly standing around and observing all what was going on. This is place I will not recommend in the future.
