Reviews of Holy Redeemer Lafayette

I am a friend or relative of resident
My grandparents were both living here until March of 2013, when they basically had no choice but to leave and move across the country to relocate at the ages of 88 and 93. They lived at Holy Redeemer for about 4 years in a 2 bedroom apartment. The staff was fine, but somewhat negligent. The facilities were not clean in general. My grandparent's clothes were often lost in the laundry, even though they were clearly labeled and organized. When my family realized that my grandparents money was depleting and they no longer had the money to afford the at least $80,000/year for their apartment and mediocre food. When my mother went in several times to speak with the social worker and heads of the facility about other options in terms of moving into a smaller apartment or other financial support, they had no interest in offering any other information. With my mother crying, the social worker in fact questioned my mother's choice to have my grandparents living there at all, and told her that she cared for her own mother at home and maybe that's what we should do as well. That's certainly not an option for everyone. The director of the facility was very lax in returning my mother's calls and had no interest in helping in any way when she did finally speak to him. This place is a business. No sense of personal care or consideration, and no empathy for any of the families of the elderly who are living there.

I visited this facility
Holy Redeemer Lafayette was beyond any expectations I had for any facility that she could stay at. Any other person would think they are staying at a hotel as the look inside and out is beautiful. While briefly visiting, I was able to recognize the amount of effort and work all employees put into making the best possible experience for everyone there. Each room looks like one I would enjoy staying in and the staff makes you feel at home. As me and my family first walked in, we were immediately greeted by someone asking if we could be helped. They gave a personal tour of the facilities and it was obvious that my grandmother would love it there. I definitely look forward to visiting her and spending time with her when I can. My whole family was a little skeptical about letting her live at a nursing at first, but after visiting the Lafayette, we knew she would be in great hands.
