I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My grandma stayed at this amazing facility. The first thing I noticed was how beautifully decorated it was. I also noticed that it smelled good, like fresh lemon. The staff is very attentive and the administrator, Matt, is outstanding. Always answering phone calls and very attentive to everyone in the building. Grandma stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the garden. She kept commenting on how delicious the food was! A wonderful place, the only rehab facility I’d send my family.

My dad got admitted to Delaney Park after having a major stroke which affected the function of his left side. He also had a G-Tube placed due to his stroke. We had family go and visit him every day due to issues we started noticing. He would be left sitting in his wheelchair for hours in a soaking wet diaper till we got there and addressed. It would take something an hour or more for the technician to come and change him after asking them to clean him. When we got to the rehab from the hospital he had a cover over his GTube so he wouldn’t pull it out . I toke it off him to one day to wash it and brought it back the next day and was advised I could not place it back on him because the doctor had to order it. The next day I got a call from the rehab the my father pulled out his gtube. During his stay at the rehab he was moved rooms 2 times. One reason was insurance and the other reason was because they wanted to make room for new patients. He got moved to a room downstairs in the long term area which is an old part of the building. Room was small and the room looks like it was leaking or needs repair. This facility has some good and bad nurses and the same with the technician. Nurse Amanda was awesome and very caring. She was very knowledgeable about caring for his Gtube. Other’s I would have to constantly remind and tell them he needs it clean or a Gaza underneath. Tiffany from speech therapy was awesome. She worked with him and was always keeping me informed of his process. She worked with him to the point where he is now able to eat purée food. I had the worst experience with this facility during our discharge. Nobody knew the plan and it was a disaster. He was supposed to be transported home around 4 and didn’t get here till 7pm . He was exhausted from sitting in the chair all day till he got home. There was a big issues with his oxygen machine not being delivered as promised. I called the day before and advised the SW that we where still pending the arrival of his oxygen machine. I toke the extra steps several times to make sure everything we where advised was completed. We where advised he would be sent home with his paper prescription and nothing. The SW attended to contact the doctor to sent the prescription to the pharmacy and no answer. We had to go back to the facility to pick up the prescription and then take them to the pharmacy. It was such an inconvenience and we were not able to get his medicine till the next day. I hope they work on streamlining there process. I feel like the discharge plan was not explained and we had to keep asking questions to find out our options. I was never told we where going to get referred to a agency till we asked. I would have never even know to ask because we have never been through this. We understand this is what they do all the time but this is not something people normally just know the process. I would not recommend this facility and the communication with family members is not good there. There is so many other issues we experienced while at this facility.

Every time i call to get an update on my family member i spend over an hour on the phone trying to reach someone. They dont have a voicemail box so after spending 5 minutes with the telephone ringing it hangs itself up

Be very careful or you or your loved one could get admitted by Delaney Park Rehabilitation Center then hours later turned back out and sent back to hospital without any real communication from this place. The director of nursing went home and didn't even bother to communicate nor any follow up, JUST GET OUT! All our family asked was to keep our family member at the facility (after having been admitted in the late afternoon) for the evening so we could get other arrangements. The staff lied during the evening changing the story that they had "arranged" for a bed back at hospital and the reasons for being turned out; family member ended up back in the emergency room and had to stay there for almost 24hours before starting over again to get a place for rehab and delay in therapy. No matter the circumstances of "why" this place was uncharitable and horrible to my family; be careful you don't suffer the same fate. Ask lots of questions when their MARKETING team come knocking on your door to get your business or you may get turned just after being admitted and end up worse off

My mother-in-law went into Delaney Park Health and Rehab 215 Annie Street Orland Fl. after a pacemaker, which was recommened by the Hospital case worker. It was a nightmare. when we arrived her medication due that day was not given until late, they said a new nurse was on!!!! Patients donot have phones in room, main number never answers, very poor communication. After she arrived it was shut down due to COVID. She continued to decline, was put on oxgyen, was transported to her personal heart Dr. which perscibed medication, went back to Delaney, kept getting worse. Her Heart Dr. and his nurse were trying to dicuss this her situation with the Dr. and a nurse at Delaney, who lied to us and said he had spoken with heart Dr. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Her Dr. was appalled of this lie. Thankfully her heart Dr. sent her to hospital she had to be hydrated, oxygen (which Delaney said she no longer needed) and all new medication. My motherinlaw WALKED into Delaney, had to leave Delaney in ambulance unable to walk!! Thankfully she went to another rehab and is home doing well. Don't know what is going on there but this place needs to be investigated. We are now working on this, due to the fact we almost lost her. We would never recommend this place,Horrible.

My mother-in-law is at Westminster Care of Delaney for rehab. It's all very new, clean, and very different than what you think a rehab usually looks like. This is very sleek, bare, minimal, and open. They have the rehab rooms. I don't like that there isn't any outdoor place where people can sit, and I don't like that there are no phones in the rooms. It's a beautiful facility. The young woman that works with us said they have a very good reputation for getting people rehabbed out of there, and when I looked that up she was right. She's in a shared room. The nurses are lovely, and my mother-in-law loves them. Her care has been great, and they have conversations about their makeup and hair. The staff is very nice. She hasn't complained about the food.

I visited this facility

I visited Delaney Park (Westminster Care of Delaney) for my father. I liked the staff-to-patient interaction and how they’re very friendly to each other. It was more of a family-oriented place. However, I don’t know if they were able to handle a dementia patient, and they didn’t seem to have as much space as what we would have liked.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My father stayed at this facility short term, following a hospital stay for heart related surgery. This facility is probably average and did meet his therapy needs for rehabilitation. It is clean, but not as clean as others I have visited, and though staff are friendly, I wouldn't consider them to be attentive to a level that they know most clients in an individual manner. More than once I saw a nurse (or other staff member) approach my father and either not know his name at all (calling him Sir for instance) or confuse his name with another patient (he was called by his roommate's name at least twice during his stay). My father shared a room with another man while he was here. Our preference would have been a private room but the facility only has a limited number of private rooms and I would consider that to be a limitation, especially if we had been looking for longer term care. The facility has a small outdoor area but it seems to be used mostly for those residents who were smoking (the smoking area was separated but because the overall area was small, smoking smells spread throughout the entire outdoor area). Because of this, it was hard to enjoy much outdoor time as I wasn't happy with the smell of smoke in the air and our health concerns related to second hand smoke, especially since my father was recovering from major heart surgery. Activities in this facility are limited but available. For long term care clients I would think this would be an issue but since my father was only there for rehabilitation it didn't bother us too much (most of the time he wasn't spending with us, he was spending doing physical or occupational therapy). The discharge process in the facility was confusing as well. We never had a plan of care meeting with staff and so, when it came time for my father to return home we were only given about a day or two notice (in fairness though they did offer to extend his stay if we needed them to but said that he would have to change rooms and billing would be affected because his stay would change from a rehabilitation stay to more of a long term nursing care stay). We were very anxious to have him home and so, we made the situation work as best as we were able. I do think, however, better communication with the family would have assisted us in being ready for the transition from my father's rehabilitation stay to his return home. Overall, I would give Delaney Park a neutral rating. I think that for short term rehabilitation the therapy staff is mostly a positive. They did their job well and worked to prepare my father to return home. I'm neutral on the nursing staff, as I did not find them to be deficient in their work but also did not find them to really work to make the clients feel "at home". For a more long term stay, I would look to find a facility that has a more active activity schedule and a better outdoor area for the residents. For a short term stay, however, this facility might be adequate for some individual's needs.
