AdventHealth Care Center Orlando North (Formerly Adventist Care Centers Courtland) is a nice facility. My mother has a sitter because the residents can come and go as they please. With her current condition, if there wasn't a sitter there, she'd be out in the middle of the street, so they have to keep an eye on her. The menu looks very good, and the staff is very good. They have an excellent therapy room.

The staff here is amazing. The nurses, the CNA’s, housekeeping, kitchen staff, everyone. The business manager, Ms Prosphere, is exceptional. The facility is clean and there is no urine smell. (As a retired RN, the first thing I observe is the smell of a facility.) The rooms are cleaned, the linen on the beds are changed daily and the residents are groomed as well as possible based on their physical condition. My mom has been there since March, 2019. She has dementia and the mood swings that come along with that condition. Also, my mom is 98 years old. I visit 2-3 times weekly. I have never been there when her hair wasn’t combed, had on clean clothes, no body odor nor soiled underclothes. They take extremely good care of her, physically, mentally and emotionally. They have daily activities on and off site trip twice a month. They have menus for the residents to choose the foods they like. They, also, supplement the chosen menu with healthy and attractive foods. I can’t say enough good things about this facility! It has been such a blessing for my mom and me. I must specifically name a couple of people who have shown my mom extraordinary loving care: CNA’s Tamika, Helen, and LaShon! Also the activity director, Shabaz. They have made my mom’s life so much more bearable with their kindness! I love this facility!❤️❤️❤️

The nursing staff is TOP notch! The nurses and nursing assistants and unit managers are caring individuals who work toward patient care servicing ALL of the patients needs: clinical, emotional, mental and spiritual. They also strive to provide patients with their dignity. My mother came in from a serious surgery and was given the utmost care by the nursing staff. I cannot say enough positive comments about them. However, the therapy staff is lacking From day 3, my mother's PT who grimaced when she had to work with her (my mom is obese) told me that my mother would "probably NOT go home; come up with "plan B or Plan C". For a snap judgment to be made on DAY 3 of an HMO approved 21 day stay, we all including my mom who overheard the comment, felt defeated. I witnessed the same PT give in to my mother's requests to "sit down" vs "stand up". My mother did more in the hospital with the therapists there then she did with this one. So disappointing. Now, as my mother is "very sick" with a UTI and presenting with delirium, this PT continues to not have reference to her clinical condition, but keeps insisting that she be "transferred to assisted living" and that she "can't stay here". My mother has an open wound and infection and the therapy department wants to transfer her out, as "therapy isn't going well". SO disappointing!!!! I expected SO much more and was promised it by the admissions counselor.

My mom ended up passing away there on Sept 14th . She was sent there from Florida Hospital on Aug 19th. Hospice nurses who come there from Altamonte were cool but people who work there no consideration for my work schedule .Wanted me to sign papers wouldnt work around my schedule. It took Hospice nurse to get through with them.Mom sounded good when I first spoke to her on phone, but eventually she wouldnt answer my calls.Nurse would say she allright just sleeping. Another nurse I didnt like how she couldnt remember if mom went to rehab.Times I visited mom she was often asleep, her cancer lung had gotten worse.Hospice nurses told me the truth I met them and mom one final time Sept 13th the day before my moms death.Told me in a room my moms dying. That day myself, priest and Angela Hospice nurse prayed with mom as she was in her bed.I spent nearly 2 hrs at moms beside making amends, holding her hands. Im glad I did less than 24 hrs later Hospice told me on Sept 14th mom passed away at 12:55 pm. She was 64 but Hospice nurses were cool but Courtland nurses and people who worked there lied said mom was ok, unprofessional and wanted me to drop work just to sign paper.

The physical therapy at Adventist Care Centers was a pretty good program, but the administration was lacking. They had problems with medications. They could've treated the patients a little better. The rooms and the food were OK, but sometimes a little subpar. Some of the people working there were professional, but majority of them weren't, especially the nurses. They lack professionalism. They had Bible services, singing classes, exercise classes, and a lot of different stuff to do, but I would recommend them to nobody. They should be more professional and be more concerned about the patients. It's not just a job. They should be treated like people, not children.

I had been transferred to ACC Courtland after having a terrible experience at another local nursing home. Courtland was kind enough to set up transportation and provide me with the private room I had been looking for. They also helped me get some belonging from my home to make my stay at the facility more comfortable. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is in need to good therapy rehabilitation. All of the staff members were absolutely wonderful!
