I am/was a resident of this facility
I don't even know where to start. I was sent to this facility for transitional care after a surgery. I lasted about 3 hours before I decided to take my chances and checked out. It was noticeably filthy, and run down. they served a well balanced dinner, although the soup was that of a refrigerator temperature. I have never been aware of a healthcare facility with indoor/outdoor smoking areas...but, ok, I smoke...so I did venture out with an RN who was also using this amenity. the grounds and garden area were filled with cigarette butts. People were yelling, screaming...one even singing at the top of their lungs. It did not seem to be a place anyone would go for a recovering period. when asked the specialty of this facility, all they could tell me was that each employee was a registered nurse. Use care when deciding a facility. When I approached the hospital that referred me, the social worker advised that they don't visit places prior to sending a patient for care. this was the only one insurance covered...between the mold and scuzz....overloaded outlets, taped windows and dust stuffed vents, I need to question the MDHS for allowing this to be called a health facility or worse yet, allow them to bill insurance as a health care provider....no stars here....unless it could berated as substandard.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
Bryn Mawr Health Care is fine, but it's just too far for me to drive. I would like to get my sister closer to where I live, because I have to take her to the doctor to downtown Minneapolis and things like that. I'm 50 miles away from her. She's been in there since December and she's being treated very good. The staff seems to be knowledgeable, very caring to whatever she needs. It's very clean. They have a lot of things going on, they take them places, and they do a lot of things in the facility itself. So she has a lot to do, if she wants to do it. She's not forced and it's up to her. She's never really complained about anything. It's a fairly nice area, but it's just so far from me.
