I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My Mother and Great Grandmother were here and now my Granny. Had very FEW complaints until the last 2 years as my 90 yr old Granny has been here almost 4 yrs. Please keep in mind I am a RN as well. New "management" relicated the nursing station from the end of the hall with a clear view to the middle of the hall back into a cubby! No view from or of the nursing station to the hall. My Granny just had 2 falls in less than 8 hrs! 1st fall her neighbor went to use the shared bathroom in middle of the night and heard her moaning and notified the nurse! No idea how long she was in the floor! After I REQUESTED an alarm to prevent a 2nd fall, she has another over 3 hrs after an xray tech left NOT REPLACING THE ALARM AND NO CAREGIVER WAS AWARE! Tells me they didn't check on her for over 3 hrs. Then, I want her sent out to the ER and they try to talk me out of it! Long story short, good thing she went she had a critical potassium level and bp in stroke range! Today we had a phone conference regarding my concerns. They blamed my Granny's falls on her!!! Kept harping I do not need to send her out as they "can do about everything" there! Tells me they can't keep her from falling and that the alarm I requested doesn't prevent falls! It is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to prevent her from falling!!! Or at least be checking on her! Alarms DO PREVENT falls when combined with other interventions like improved supervision! At least with an alarm even if she does fall they'll know it!! She had 2 falls not long before and 1 she had to crawl out to the middle of the hall to get help!! Oh, and staffing, they tell me today days is 15-16 patients to 1 CNA and nights no more than 18 "when they can help it"! They will have 3 CNAs until 11p then drop to 2 until 7am for 40 or more residents! They no longer care about those they are responsible for! It is NOT nursing or the CNAs fault as they are massively overwhelmed with more residents than they can care for!!!

I visited this facility
My husband was in Garden Manor for rehab. They were teaching him to walk again, and the rehab price was very good. The people were very nice, and they had good activities and food. It was a nice place with large and nice rooms.

I visited this facility
My Mother, who recently passed away July 2011, was a patient for Alzheimer's at Garden Manor. I was very happy with the care they gave my Mother, especially in her final days there. I would recommend this facility.
