I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I’ll give this place a 1 star simply for the fact that I did see a few people getting rehabbed in the week we had my grandfather there. However, THEY DO NOT TaKE CARE OF THE RESIDENTS! Please understand this and take caution prior to putting your loved one here! The entire week my grandfather was here, they NEVER changed him once (I have pictures of every day and what was on him every day), he deteriorated in this 1 week, the aide there tried to tell me that his Cath bag (which was full of blood) was just dark urine until I MADE the nurse come in and he was completely backed up with urine, they don’t attempt to feed them if they aren’t independent and they don’t like it when family is always there. 1 day in a new place and he’s thriving and eating has been bathed. I have so many stories and watched the tech manhandle his roomate (I’m pretty sure he passed there) and they didn’t do anything for him, yet the man held my hand and communicated with me. They simply don’t care about people there. I have documentation and pictures of everything. I have call lights going off for over 20 minutes as they don’t answer them. Please, if your loved one needs assistance more than just rehab, DO NOT PUT THEM HERE!

My 97 year old mom was originally admitted for rehab. She now is in the nursing/long term care residence. The management involvement is hands on! If a problem occurs; it’s handled .I highly recommend both aspects of Manor Care!

My Dad was taken to Manor Care to recover from colon surgery. Initially, he made progress both medically as well as in physical therapy and occupational therapy. These services and staff were excellent. After several weeks, Dad stopped making progress and began to decline. He experienced edema and weakness. We questioned nurses and staff daily about his condition, and they just kept treating symptoms without trying to find the cause. Nurses and staff were dismissive about our concerns as my dad continued to decline. They even called a meeting to discuss his discharge since he wasn't making progress. Several days later, we received a call that he had been taken to the hospital. He passed away later that day. The cause of death was from sepsis. I feel that this could have been diagnosed and treated by Manor Care and we would still have my dad with us. We put our trust in this facility and hoped that he was getting good medical care. This was not our experience. I would never place another loved one in their care or recommend this facility to anyone.

Terrible! You will really have to earn a review from me. The service either needs to be exceptional or terrible. After various attempts, it would have been nice to at lease get a telephone call.

My 88-year-old mother came to ManorCare in Marietta after falling and breaking her arm. North Fulton Hospital gave us a booklet and only four hours to choose four options for a rehab facility. Of course, there was no time to visit any of them first, so we relied on reviews and some word-of-mouth recommendations. I have heard horror stories about rehab facilities, but ManorCare in Marietta exceeded our expectations and turned out to be a great place for Mom. She was there for 20 days and I visited her almost daily. She received good care and kindness consistently from the nurses, PT and OT therapists, social workers (Lessie and Neeta), support staff, and Dr. Micca (who took extra time to explain details of her treatment to us). The building is older but clean, and the food is good. They have activities like game night and jewelry making, and a therapy dog visits on Saturdays. Mom improved quickly there, and we had no major issues or complaints. It was a relief to know that she was well taken care of, especially during such a stressful time of recovery. We are grateful to the staff at ManorCare, Marietta, and we would recommend it to anyone needing rehab.

This is the second time my Dad has been a patient. Admitted yesterday the room smelled of urine before we even walked in. Asked to be cleaned, never done. Once again today, same smell. My sister asked for nurse to help my Dad use bathroom. She ran an errand, was gone 35 minutes, upon returning his call light was still blinking, no one ever came and he used urinal by himself. If he had clothes on vs the hospital gown, he could not have done this as he is confined to a wheelchair. People come from all over as the Rehab services have an excellent reputation. The nursing staff from the Director of Nursing and all the way down needs to be held accountable. The nursing staff needs to be the same caliber of care. Both times, my Dad received horrific nursing care. I am reporting this facility to CMS as these patients are yelling, crying for help and there is no sense of urgency to assist them. This is not acceptable! The rooms are not clean, the staff unresponsive and funding from CMS needs to be withheld until changes are made in staffing, additional training, and sanitary conditions can be met every single day! These patients have their dignity jeopardized every day. Again, CMS needs an unannounced visit and am confident funding would be held until numerous changes are made. Leadership starts at the top and that’s where staff changes/ firing needs to start.

I was there for a month after hip surgery and my surgeon was amazed how well I progressed. PTs/OTs gave excellent therapy sessions and taught me all the right tricks. Wonderful activities all day. Nurses and aids continuously checked with ďoç visits too. Good food with other residents and in rooms. Nice views of garden from most rooms. Professional entertainment each week. PC available to use. 2 large therapy rooms. Insurance paid 100%

My 92 year old father had broken his pelvis. He was sent to Manor Care for physical rehab. The staff was magnificent. Caring, attentive, responsive, positive. They helped my father improved dramatically and was able to return to his assisted living home. They handled paperwork and made it very easy for the family.

We were terribly unprepared when the time came to seek nursing care for our mother and really didn't know where to turn. A neighbor recommended Manor Care of East Cobb. We were so impressed with this beautiful facility and immediately initiated the process to move mom there. Their wonderful, caring, supportive and friendly staff worked with us every step of the way through this difficult time as we settled mom in to what has become her new home. Great nursing care, clean rooms, wonderful food, generous amenities and daily activities for those interested. Beautiful rehab facility. We rate Manor Care BEST IN CLASS in ALL categories! Thank you Manor Care East Cobb!!!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was a patient at ManorCare after my bilateral knee replacement surgery following a week in the hospital. Initially I was put in a semi private room but after requesting a private room I was in one within an hour. The room was very nice and had a nice big window and a refrigerator. the bed was very comfortable. I received excellent care during my two weeks of rehab and nursing care. The staff was very caring, especially my nurses and patient care tech. I got physical and occupational therapy 2-3 times daily. The physical therapists who worked with me were very professional and outstanding. However, the facility could use more nursing staff. The food is "unremarkable" but the facility is located in East Cobb and there are many fast food places and restaurants close by. My wife made sure I had plenty of good food. If I had concerns, the director of nursing was available to address them. I came into the facility on a stretcher and walked out with a cane. Many thanks to everyone who helped me during my stay.

We researched rehab facilities in depth and choose Manor care because of its 5 star rating. Don't be fooled like we were by that high star rating. We arrived and my mom was treated horrible. They brought a wheel chair out to bring her in to the facility in and did not even have feet or leg rests and they yelled at her to just lift her feet up all the way in which she was not able to do. For her first meal there which they knew was her first meal in weeks... they brought spicy sloppy joes. For an elderly person spicy food is hard but for a first meal that's way too much. The CNA's were very very rude to her and yelled at her and scared her. The nurse was not friendly at all. We spoke with the nurse about how the CNA's had treated my mom and the nurse just said it's just their culture and where they are from that makes them sound hateful. That was not acceptable. She didn't want to address what they did to my mom but wanted to make excuses for how they acted. There were many more bad things that happened but to make this short my mom was so frightened and upset by the staff hat she ask to leave and we did within hours of arrival.

My mother who is 91 just left ManorCare after 4 weeks of rehab. She was released from a hospital after a week's stay and she was in terrible physical condition (not that way prior to the hospital stay.) When we knew she would need rehab, we asked for recommendations from 3 different sources. All 3 said that ManorCare was the place we wanted for my mother. My mother was treated with care and respect. The therapists were wonderful and she is back at her assisted living apartment in better shape than before all of this began. Thank you to ManorCare.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I just left Manor Care after 12 days of rehab following a femur fracture surgery. I was very pleased with my care. The therapy was wonderful. One hour of PT and one hour of OT every day and the therapists were great. I was able to come home and do everything needed to live alone. While I had sister support, I was surprised at how able I was after their care. The nurses and aides were so good - they were constantly drawn to someone on the hall so they never caught a break. There were times that I had to wait a while for the light to get answered, but usually they came right away, found out what I needed and if they didn't take care of it then, returned later. The nurses helped me with my medications and the doctors that I saw were top notch. The food left a lot to be desired, but it is institutional food. It was nutritious and balanced even if it wasn't particularly appealing. All the staff were so nice and helpful. I fully recommend that anyone go here if they have a choice. I would request going back if needed in the future.

My mom has been to different rehab centers throughout the last four years, and ManorCare is one of the best. It doesn't feel like a nursing home; it feels more like a hotel. She went in not being able to write her name and very depressed with no purpose in life. Now, she's in the gardening club and on a sports team even when she's in a wheelchair. They also have crocheting. She's very happy and doesn't want to come home. It's a fabulous place. They call us all the time when she's not feeling well. I have never had any problems with any of the staff. The dining room is pretty. My mother seems to like the food, and she feels better so obviously a healthy diet helped.

My mother was there several years ago and developed a bed sore that then became a whole and then a bone infection and had to be treated with 6 weeks of antibiotics and hospital stay. I was out of town during my moms April 2017 hospital stay and Now after leaving hospital and being set up by care coordinator with approval for her insurance it has become a nightmare there again. She was hit in face with a tv, has missed being given her antibiotics wish are given 3 times a day, and cannot get anyone to file with her insurance and getting ridiculous bills for services and her stay.. Very incompetent and unfriendly staff. Also the facility is dirty

There are not enough words in the English language to describe how much I love this place. As A 24-7 care-giver For my dad I'm very particular about his care. The therapy apartments are absolutely incredible . Every single staff member is so incredibly nice and helpful no matter who they are or what position they hold. My dad has been a patient there twice now . I can't recommend them highly enough and I can't find one thing about this place that I don't like

My dad is in the middle of his 2nd stay at this facility, AND WE COULDNT BE HAPPIER WITH THE QUALITY!! We were there in September 2016 for the entire month as my dad has a chronic indwelling catheter and got a really bad UTI which zapped his strength. After 4 days in St Josephs hospital we were transferred to another facility which was a death trap. Fortunately, a friend had a dad who was in MANOR CARE for a fused back and had recovered BEAUTIFULLY. We transferred to Manor Care the next day and it was a seamless transition from the quality of care we were getting at St Josephs. After a month dad was stronger than ever. We are here again for the exact same thing and the facility and staff are just beyond wonderful! I'm a 24/7 caregiver for dad and when I leave at night, I know dad i s in the best quality hands in the business! I cant thank them enough for the quality of care we receive at this facility and I will always be eternally grateful. Quality rehab, quality activities and quality people!!

I chose this facility for my rehab after my knee replacement surgery. It was a comfort to me to be able to pre- register my stay do that I had my whole surgery and recovery planned out. Everything went so smoothly for me. The staff was so motivating and caring. They made sure I met my rehab goals and set me up to be successful when I went home. The facility is clean and nicely appointed. There was always something on the menus that i enjoyed. The caregivers - nursing, therapist and all the other staff seemed to enjoy what they do. They are very well trained and the facility as a whole seems to operate do well. It was a great experience send I tell all my friends "go to Manorcare!"

I am a past client of this provider

My husband was there for physical rehab due to TIA and a broken pelvis for thirty days. Most of the caregivers were unconcerned about my husband's needs and would turn off his alarm button and say someone would be in soon to change his diaper, help with dressing, etc He was a patient there five years ago and the change in attitude of the staff was astounding. Before there was no urine smell in the hallways and the staff was more than helpful. Today diapers have been left open on the floor in patient rooms, patients smell badly, no shaving was done and staff would gather in small groups to talk, gossip, etc. in addition, they are now using catered food which is somewhat better than his previous experience. Needless to say, this facility was rated very highly on the Government website so we felt safe in his going there - wrong! He will never set his body in any kind of rehab/ nursing facility again!
