I am/was a resident of this facility

I was at Ecumen Pathstone for rehab. It's large. They have their own physical therapists onsite and a nice fitness room for them to use. It's a beautiful property. They have a little cafe in the lobby, so residents can get something if they want, like a scone or a cup of coffee, a milkshake, an ice cream, or some little sandwiches. It's right there in the lobby area where there's a fireplace and a lot of nice places to sit, as well as tables for eating or gathering for a resident's birthday party. It's a very nice and well-kept facility. They have a chapel for services where they bring in a priest once a week, which I think is a very nice feature for a lot of people. The food was excellent. too. The staff that was in the dining facility were very helpful and kind. They always have a whole variety of alternative menus for those who prefer something else. Their price was comparable to the others.

My tour at Ecumen Pathstone was very good. I liked the fact that they have activities and I liked the apartments. Laura was very good, very thorough, and answered our questions. I was very impressed with all of the rooms. It was very clean.

We're here in Ecumen Pathstone Living, and we're settled in. It all worked out very well. They are very caring. It's a warm place, and it's very attractive. Everything is handy for us; there's nothing that we can't handle. I couldn't be happier. I feel like I've been here forever. The staff members are pleasant. They're accommodating. They're timely, and I can't say enough good about them. They're young and vibrant, and they do what they say they're going to. They took our laundry last night, and it was waiting outside all folded up and clean this morning. I couldn't ask for anything better. The food is delicious, and the place is very clean. They have activities like bingo. In the memory care unit, there is some COVID at this point. Just to be on the safe side, they put a hold on community activities and group activities until we see how that shakes out in the memory care area. The value for the money is appropriate. I would say we're getting what we pay for. If you're looking for a place that's safe, pleasant, and welcoming, this is the place to come to.

I am perfectly happy with everything at Ecumen Pathstone Living. They give excellent nurse aid care with the CNAs and the registered nurses. The food is good. I’ve decorated my walls and my wife decorated it too with something for Valentine’s Day, which we haven’t taken down yet. They provide an excellent selection of activities, they have the usual games like bingo, they sing, and there are musical events, like somebody comes in and plays the piano, and somebody comes in and sings, or there's been a barbershop here. There’s enough to appeal to anybody who’s up and moving around. The staff is very qualified at all levels.

I visited this facility

Ecumen Pathstone Living was very nice. The room was nice. This was my mom’s choice, but they had no opening at the time of our visit. They have a hair salon. The residents were in their rooms; maybe it’s because of the time we visited.

My father lives here in the memory care unit. From the outside, it's a beautiful facility in nice location. Its physical beauty is only as deep as the drywall and landscaping. I cannot stress enough that if you love and respect the family member for whom you are seeking a facility, DON'T choose this one. Specific issues: Dad has had several falls in which he wasn't "discovered" for an unspecified period of time. TWO of these falls resulted in multi-day hospitalizations - one with a subdural hematoma (bleeding on the brain) and with a broken hip requiring surgery - this last was AFTER bedrails and an alarm were installed to alert staff if he was leaving his bed. The whole point in finding an assisted living facility for Dad was so he would have around the clock care/supervision/assistance because it had become too great of a psychological burden on our immediate family to deal with his advancing dementia. Assisting him physically was not insurmountable burden. Nutritionally, Dad isn't getting what he needs. He only wants sugar. Our family discovered that he likes Ensure. The staff will not give it to him even though we've provided a stockpile of it. Dementia - Dad has become very territorial with his advancing dementia. He is in a private room with a private bath. A friendly gentleman approached Dad in his room and they had a physical altercation. (- Because staff in the memory care unit can't remember what their job description entails?) Staff - My sis-in-law was visiting one day and observed that the toilet needed to be cleaned (in a very obvious manner), it was 5:00 and his lunch tray was still in his room. She brought this to the attention of the staff and they were "aware, but short staffed." I realize others may have good experiences here. This may be a facility that is best suited to individuals who really don't need assisted living for anything more than someone to cook, clean, and do laundry for them. For the price of this facility, if this is your need, please place your loved ones on a cruise ship or in a posh resort in central America until their funds run out and then compare and consider the facilities that state agencies will fund.

I enjoyed visiting my grandfather at Pathstone Living in Mankato. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My grandfather seemed very happy, and well taken care of. The building is beautiful, with a great garden area. It also has aquariums and bird aviaries. The food that he was served looked well prepared and delicious. The staff who helped feed him were very kind and patient. His room was nicely decorated, and good sized. He also has a private bathroom, which is nice for privacy. Overall I was very happy with Pathstone Living.

We had looked for months for an assisted living facility for our uncle who is very dear to our family. He had begun to suffer from Alzheimers, and my aunt was no longer alive, so he couldn't live in his home by himself. He was still more or less mentally present when we had started looking, so we were primarily looking for a place that would provide immediate assistance in case he ran into a medical emergency. Besides that, we wanted a place that would provide healthy meals for him, and also provide a good variance of day to day activities to keep him as mentally sharp as his condition would allow.Pathstone Living in Mankato, employing more than 10 registered nurses (at least one on the clock at all times), ended up being a perfect choice for Wally and our family. They have lots of people that currently live there with a similar condition/state as Wally, and they had activities scheduled three times per day, from walks to card games to concerts. I fully believe that the variance in activities and personal care given to Wally has prolonged his life and mental clarity longer than it would have been present had we not chosen Pathstone. I would recommend this facility to absolutely anyone.

My uncle, after his Alzheimer's got bad to the point where he couldn't live alone, was admitted to this Assisted Living facility 8 months ago. He was a very proud man and we were concerned about the nature of 'assisted living' places and their tendency to make a person feel helpless or worthless. We toured 5 facilities in and around Mankato, MN (where we live), and decided on Pathstone for a number of reasons. They emphasize their staff as being available in the event of an emergency or any other extenuating circumstances, but besides that, the resident is free to do what he or she wants in a caring and supportive environment. There are activities available for the residents, and a nutritious menu that offers choices to its residents for every meal. Another great thing about Pathstone is the degree to which they implemented the internet in the care of its residents. Family members can check online to see what activities are available for their family member or friend, what they are eating, and more. We are allowed to come to visit whenever we want, and the one emergency that my uncle has had since being admitted was addressed professionally and in a caring way, and the facility followed up with my family by phone to describe what happened and what was being done. We were very reluctant to take this step and admit Wally into this facility, but we knew we made the right choice with Pathstone. He is happy and relatively healthy, and we are afforded the opportunity to visit him as often as we would like to. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone taking this step in the care of a loved one or friend.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My proud and relatively stubborn uncle had finally resigned himself to having to live in an assisted living home. It was something that our family got together on and spent quite a bit of time narrowing down the options before deciding on Pathstone Living in Mankato, MN. Based on the two tours that we took and their comforting and informative website, we concluded this would be the best place for him. He still had his wits about him and was fairly able bodied, which is why the activity center and weekly scheduled activities really appealed to us (and to him too). The staff was very friendly and quick to assure us that they would make his transition into an assisted living environment a pleasant and easy one. We are able to visit him whenever we want (with one hour's notice), and it's very obvious to us how happy and comfortable he is. I highly recommend Pathstone Living in Mankato, MN.

I believe my Great Grandma Helen received above average care when living in Pathstone facility. She had her own room and the staff was extremely caring, responding well to her needs. The facility was just recently redone, so it is quite tasteful and upon walking in. It does not even resemble a nursing home. There is a cafe in the front, along with some nice lounging areas and large bird cages. While she was living there, we would eat dinner with her on occasion and I would have to say I was very impressed with the food. I also would participate in dance performances there back when I went to a dance studio in the area. Entertainment is provided for the residents on a regular basis. Overall, a great senior care facility.
