The reviews for this nursing home are old and don't do the place or people who work there justice. I have been dealing with aging parents for more than 10 years and this is the best nursing home in Orlando! I can only vouch for the rehab wings, not the long term wings. The nurses and cna's in the rehab wings are Amazing! Administration REALLY pays ttention when you have requests and takes the time several times a week to educate the personnel on the best way to meet the needs of the patients. I'm very grateful! The thing is, you need to communicate (in a polite way... After all they are taking care of your loved one)! The difference I find with this place and almost all other nursing homes in Orlando is that administration listens and makes things happen, unlike many other places in Orlando! And I have been going at this for more than 10 years. I am very grateful for the care they give mom who's been there for 6 months now. I am especially grateful to the DON and ADON Ms. Tee and Ms. Saint, the amazing nurses Mr. Rollen, Ms. Benice, Ms. Shanell, Ms. Pancie, Mr. James, Mr. Mo, Ms. Jackie, and all the others who take care of mom! The CNA' s are also amazing, especially Ms. Marie, Ms. Brittany, Ms. Alicia, Ms. Liz, Ms. Mimerose, Ms. Karen, Mr. Devon, Ms. Meeka and so many others. I give this place 4.5 and not 5 starts because there are two nurses and one CNA who really need to reevaluate their vocation (in my opinion). One of them no longer works with mom as per my request, and the second nurse did adjust her attitude considerably but I haven't seen in a long time which is perfectly ok with me. Also, from the moment you walk in the front door, people greet you with a smile and everyone seems to be willing to help! Again, mom is total care and has been here for 6 months so that behavior of the personnel is not just a fluke! I see it every day! Finally, I have to confess that when I came for the tour of the facility I wasn't impressed. It smelled a bit funny (like old and a bit of pee). I only smelled that on the day of the tour... Not the second or third day after that, so it's not like my nose got used to it. I have seen other beautiful facilities that don't compare to this one, but I wouldn't trade the care here for any of those fancy places where my loved one has been! Besides, this place is very decent even though the building is not the most modern one. The walls are painted, there are no roaches, rodents or fleas, there are telephones and flat screen tv's in the rooms, and the lady who cleans mom's room does a great job every day and is very cordial always! Also, Mr. Rafael who buys the floors every night takes pride on keeping them shiny and safe to walk on. Finally, mom is always clean and there's always enough clean linen, gowns and towels available unlike in other facilities. I'm taking the time to write this review in hope that it can help someone but I recommend to not be discouraged or encouraged by the reviews of a place. The best way to find out about a place is to talk to the family of the residents of the place. I strongly recommend this place! For my loved one and I, it has been a true blessing!
