I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My father was a resident here for little less than a year. He enjoyed the activities and therapy staff is wonderful. No activities on weekends/holidays and past 3-4 pm. Extremely short of staff at nights - one nurse for 3-4 wings; night time nurses don't seem to be very caring - with the exception of two (in my experience) without whom we would have had a very difficult time. Day time staffing is little better. Few nurses who cared very much; more that did not. He passed away very suddenly. A nurse told us a story about him going around and saying that 'I am dying'. No other nurse can confirm that. This claim, for this reason, disturbs me. I have no reason to suspect anything bad since he looked very peaceful but this claim worries me - though it is too late. The wait after call light is on is sometimes long - once it was more than an hour when I happened to be there; but usually it is average. The hallway for temporary residents is nice and clean but the one for long-term smells. I would recommend lots of family presence if you plan to place your loved one here.

Some of the staff really care. Others do not. IE: when directing questions they state, it's not my job, or I don't know. Rooms are not kept clean, hygiene care is lacking, communication between staff and management does not seem coordinating. When asking for help in finding clothes there does not seem to be any follow through which again leads me to wonder if anyone cares. PT does not communicate improvement or goals.

I am a friend or relative of resident
My wife was there for several months. I visited her several hours a day when she was there. She received very good care. The nursing staff knows their job and does it well. The therapists are first class. The food is good enough that the staff often buys meals. The wait after the call light is turned on is short. In fact, shorter than for her than at UW Hospital. The staff is friendly, knows the patients, and cares about them. I would choose Belmont if I needed a nursing home.

I visited this facility
Belmont was absolutely horrible. The people working there seemed to be fine. They did not want to let you interact with the staff, but made you wait for the office staff. I was not impressed at all. The rooms were small and do not seem clean. I saw people playing cards in the dining room. In the basement, they had a gym or exercise room. They have to improve in cleanliness.
