I toured McKendree Village. The only thing with that is they don't include cable. They don't include certain things. They have a lot of add-ons like $50 a month for your clothes, which is fine, but then they add on other stuff like if you're not able to go downstairs to the lunchroom, they'll charge you $5 each time they have to bring your meal to your room. All that stuff can add up quickly. It's nice, and I like it. It's just I can't afford it. The staff was nice and friendly. The rooms were nice. It depends on what you get. I like the one that has the living room, the bedroom, and the bath, but I couldn't afford that for sure. They have a studio deluxe, that's bigger than just the other studio bedrooms. They were all nice. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law live there in the Towers. I've been out there several times and ate with them. The food was good. They have just about everything. They have a swimming pool and activities. They have a church. They have a lot. The staff was really friendly, nice, and helpful.

McKendree Village had everything my sister was looking for. She's moving from a home in Pennsylvania to be down here in Nashville by me and it has all the things that she doesn't have. It's great that they have 24-hour nursing and the room is set up. They have individual rooms and they have a dinette with a refrigerator and she's looking forward to having a refrigerator. It has a tub and she's not used to taking showers and she's looking forward to the tub. The rooms were compact, but they had everything. The owner was wonderful. The lady there was very knowledgeable and very kind. I'm looking forward to my sister being there. It's an older facility but it's well-kept. They have an activity director, too.

My husband is staying at McKendree Village. It was one of two places that I could find where my husband needed long-term care, and I will be moving into independent living, so it had both. My husband's room is quite large. I've moved in DVDs and a TV for him, and I'm going to move his lift chair in there. He said the food is very good. They have a swimming pool, exercise classes, all kinds of games, TV nights, and popcorn. The staff has been great.

McKendree Village has been very kind, very caring, and really helpful to mom. All the rooms could be painted warmer, though. Other than that, her room is fine. She has great therapy. They had music and had therapy dogs that came by. They also take them outside, if weather permitting. The facility is well-maintained. You have to check your temperature when you come in. So, they take all measures to keep everybody safe and they've been really good at that.

I stayed at McKendree Village just to get me moving. The staff was excellent. I didn't have a problem with them at all. The food was better than the last rehab I was in. The facility was very big, very clean, and very secure. If you went outside to get fresh air, you had to basically call that you're coming in. The physical therapists and the occupational therapists were great. Whenever I called, they were there. They fed me what I could eat because I am on a no fried food and smaller diet. I was given protein drinks and stuff like that. I ate oatmeal, and I had almond milk every day. The food was really good because it was all homemade, like a chicken pot pie.
