I am/was a resident of this facility

I was at the Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Good Shepherd for rehab. It was a better place than the one I'm in now. The staff was very good. I was very happy there. I had a private room with my own TV and a giant closet. They cleaned the place every day. The food was very good. The whole time I was there, I had no problems. It was a nice place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My family member was at this facility for two weeks before they took his dentures out to clean. When he was transferred out of isolation I found him in the wrong bed. Aides not wearing masks properly or using sanitizer properly. I got tired of hearing this is my first day or second day with the patient. Assisted feeds are fed last and food is cold.Clothes missing along with a photo album. The list can go one

I visited this facility

We visited Good Shepherd. The apartments were very nice and very clean. It's an older facility, but it's still very clean. The staff was very nice. When the lady was showing me around, there was a patient that accidentally went into a lady's room, which bothered me. You can't keep that from happening, but it was kind of disturbing. However, the staff was friendly and accommodating.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My father was just admitted to this facility for rehab from Hip replacement surgery. I was appalled when I went in to check on him after my husband had been by and said I better get over ASAP. The rooms are designed for one resident but administration has placed two beds attempting to use rooms for two residents. It is horrible. My father's bed is all the way up against one wall, his view is either the curtain or the very sick and mentally not well person sprawled across their bed. There is barely room to walk in and no place for visitors to be able to sit and visit. The bed is a crank bed!!!!!!!! Very antiquated and my father can't adjust his bed without help which there is none!!!!!! No shower in the bathroom, no personal privacy at all. The facility itself is not where I want my father to be and we will be moving him ASAP!!!! The one nurse I spoke with was friendly but she said there was nothing to be done as far as rooms. It's like all the patients/residents are a bunch of sardines squashed into a space which is inadequate. This is not an environment a person can heal well in and it's depressing!!!!! How they pass inspection and are compliant is beyond me!!!

I am a friend or relative of resident

The administration at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center are making false promises to potential residents and their families. The staff is horrible the place is very noisy. Call lights are constantly ringing, wheelchair and bed alarms are being ignored by staff and administration. The nurses are so overwhelmed and it all over their faces. The nursing assistants are no where to be found. I went there one evening to visit a friend. I felt as if I was in a psychiatric facility. Phones were ringing, overhead pages and call lights was all we heard, and all of the staff was standing behind the nurses desk as if nothing was going on. Please pay this place a visit on all shifts and weekends before considering this place for your loved one.

I visited this facility

We visited the Good Shepherd, and we liked that one, but they had a long waiting list. I just liked the looks of the facility indoors and outdoors, and I liked the staff. I just talked to a couple of administrators, and they were nice and very informative. It was nicely decorated, it was pleasing, and it also had some nice little outdoor areas.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

This is a very pleasant quiet facility located down below a hill. The area is really nice with, which reminds me of a forest because of all the trees that surround the area. I went to this facility to visit my love one, which I was just happy to see a nice newer looking building. Next, the landscaping on the outside of this building was really nice. And someone greeted me when I walked in, so I had no problem with finding the location of the room. The building was spic and span and decorated really nice. My family member room was really neat and clean. When I went to the room location staff members were cleaning the room and leaving. They were really nice they asked me if I wanted anything to drink, which I thought was really nice. My family member was really happy, it was the happiest I had ever saw them. I thought at first they would be afraid to move in a facility, but after staying a few weeks they were use to the routine. I asked my family member if she liked it and I was told yes because they felt like their at home. In reality they were at home, but just in a new location that can assist them if needed, Finally, I was happy that my love one was enjoying their stay. And I was happy to know that a staff member is always available if needed.
