I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife stayed at Spanish Hills Wellness Suites. Our experience was very good. They had her in a private room. They were very conscious of her needs. She was happy with the food and with the place. They started medicating her and she seemed to come around. We didn't believe that she was coming around. We thought she still has dementia and we were looking for another home to put her in because from what I understand, it wasn't a long-term place for her. She was fighting to come home and they did some more evaluations. Her last evaluation was that she could come home because she said she could do things for herself and they went along with it, and they brought her home to my surprise. I didn't know she was coming home. They sent her with all the medications she's been taking. She liked the nurses. She liked being able to walk around and socialize with some of the other patients. She called up the kitchen and told them how happy she was with them. The facility was very nice. They had a gym there. They had a physical therapist who took her to the gym. They had social workers there, a doctor, and a psychologist. I have no complaints. The only complaint I had was, I can't even say it was a complaint, they decided that she was ready to go home, and we weren't ready for her to come home. I was surprised.

This is a very poor poor poor service providing facility the building may be beautiful but the workers in it are grade 0 below well below average especially a CNA called Ruben the laziest thing that I know in the facility been there for years however that's because most of the residents are unable to talk for themselves residents are left in feces and urine you smell it down the Halls when you ask for something it takes forever for to get brought to you even if it's just simple ice water when you push the Bell it takes forever the food is mediocre to disgusting I had to keep asking for housekeeping to come through the floor due to a foot infection I wouldn't bring my bird to fly around in this building this is a very poor with bedside manners with providing any kind of information nurses do not help you they lie and they make you feel like you're worthless I would not recommend this place for no one who loves their family member I wouldn't come here on a referral or anything else this damn building needs to be burned down to the ground and I would say some of the workers in it because they chose the job to help and care for and it's just the opposite do not bring your family here it's a big front if you come and visit but once you're gone it's terrible

My Uncle was here for rehab. I talked to him every day. He didn't answer my calls or texts for 2 days. I asked for a well fair check, he was incoherent, and couldn't talk. That same day he was transported to Spring Valley hospital. The doctor said his kidneys were close to failure. If I hadn't requested a wellness check, I don't know if he would be alive today. Don't send your loved one here.

My husband is in rehab at Spanish Hills Wellness Suites. Unfortunately, my husband is confined to a bed. I wish they would check in on him more often. He has a pretty ugly rash and I'm worried about it. I check it now every day. They get speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy and he hasn't shown any improvements, but that's him because he's pretty bad off. His stroke was major and he's 86. The positive things are I see people getting physical therapy, people improving, people cycling in and out. I think if it were like a hip replacement and they're going there for physical therapy, I think that's an excellent place. They have a large rehab area. For those who can't get down to that area, the staff will come to the room and do it for them. They should answer the nurses' call. I press on it and 15 to 20 minutes later they'll come in, and I don't press on it very often. If I can do it, I'll do it, but I'm also a senior and I don't have the strength I used to have. Their administrative staff is good. They had a problem one night, and I think the nurses calling me at home was necessary. They should be more responsive and look at the person who is in the room. They should be more attentive to those patients. Those that can yell out or call out or push the buzzer certainly do have an advantage, and my husband can't. They have him in a room that has doors and windows to the outside. I think that's an advantage. He can look out on the patio. A lot of the other patients would go to the ambulatory patio and they'll go out there, but a lot of them are smokers, so that's what they're going out there for. They have activities for them. Other than not changing my husband's diapers regularly, it's a very clean facility.

Best tip to avoid stress is to avoid this place. My wife was sent here after being hospitalized for heart problems. This morning I picked her up to get our second Covid vaccine and when we returned they just handed me bags of her belongings and would not allow her back in because it had taken her to long. She's now back in the emergency room with chest pains. Thanks a lot, Spanish Hills.

I had my Love one sent there for a rehab for a head injury. We weren’t able to make sure that he was off to a great start due to COVID-19, however my uncle wasn’t there a full 48 hours before he was sent back to the hospital. Their reason was because he was looking for an exit and couldn’t be redirected. I called them and they wouldn’t give me any information and I’m the one in charge of all of his care! They were rude! His nurse wouldn’t even get on the phone! They had no reason at all to send him out! They did it because they didn’t want to watch him because he wanders! Sent him to the hospital for psychological evaluation! This was the worse experience ever!

to start on a positive note I would like to say that Bobby in PTA is a wonderful man.He has helped my family member a great deal.Up and walking and they have bonded and she feels safe with him.He is amazing!!!!!! But there are some things that could really be improved on,when you press the call button a response in a timely manner would be great. Some of the overnight nursing staff are extremely rude, they should really work on the bedside manner. If you are unhappy taking care of people who are ill and dependent get another career. They should work on the trash and replacing the trash bags when they do remove the trash. The facility is nice and it is clean.i am there sometimes three or four times in a day and have never "smelled"any smell that was in the last review I saw. Some of the staff isn't great and as the daughter I am there daily, very vocal face to face with my concerns and I do not stop advocating until things are done.Erin has been my family members nurse during the day (weekday)and she is great and attentive.I do feel that many people get mistreated at "nursing"homes and it is a shame. But my family is very much involved and make sure things are the way they are supposed to be,I would NEVER allow anything else than the best care for my loved one.as a family member of a patient you must make it known you are going to be around! !Every day and that improves things.Let the staff see you talk to them,be involved and your family member will get the proper care.

This is the worst place in the state of Nevada. The staff is rude the director of nursing is clueless. Their physical therapist and doctors are one of the biggest jokes that will ever be played on you.a Be sure to check the state's website for all the complaints against this facility.

Only giving a 1 star so I can leave a review...I'd really like to give 0 stars. My husband has a 3 inch deep draining wound on his chest due to heart surgery...we we're transferred from the hospital at 930pm 1/5/18 for wound care and IV antibiotics only. Outside appearances the facility was asthetically nice from what we did see at the front entrance and hallways. But this is no exaggeration when I say the SMELL of urine and feces over run the facility. It is so potent and unbelievably unsanitary. Thankfully the window in the room opened for fresh air! We told them my husband needs to be in a separate room on lower isolation due to his open wound...they put him in a room with an older gentleman (nice person) who had open sores on his legs....when this was brought to the charge nurses attention...we were told we'd need to wait until sometime tomorrow if there able to get an open room. The charge nurse Dennis was nice to us. They do not have a pharmacy at the facility it's a skilled nursing facility so all they're meds are ordered and delivered by an external pharmacy. Which means you have to wait. We were aware of it and we're okay with the expectation they were being ordered as we speak and would arrive in a couple hours. We sucked it up and asked for a reclining chair so I could stay with him (which I always do). With the fresh freezing air from outside we were able to fall asleep with a couple hours. At 1:30am we we're awoken by Diane,LPN who had straight attitude about me sleeping there. With it being against company policy...they're visiting hours are open but I was supposed to sit in the chair but not fall asleep. She wanted to do a skin check which apparently couldn't wait until his meds were delivered...poor roommate was awoken by her talking and bright lights also...she spoke to us as if we couldn't understand English at all (mind you we've lived in America our whole lives and only speak one language-English)...afterwards she had the CNA come and remove the reclining chair with no regard to anybody. Now it's 2am and still no answer to where his pain meds are...now he's up...in a lot of pain because Diane,LPN had no regard for the patient or family member. This was the breaking point....with the smell that is potent and doesn't go away because they leave the dirty laundry/trash in the hallways if not right in your doorway and the disregard from one particular staff member (one bad apple) we spoke with the charge nurse to be transferred back to the ER or another facility....the doctor would have to be paged....they needed a valid reason and it could be a long wait for a response...because them not having adequate facilities for the patient wasn't valid enough. We signed out and came straight back to the ER at our own discretion. The nurses DO NOT answer the call button...the switchboard thing should NOT be lit up like a Christmas tree..PLEASE DO NOT REFER YOUR PATIENT OR FAMILY MEMBER HERE. STAY FAR AWAY...we were told don't worry about prior reviews...but they were true...and it WAS WORSE. So I write this story in as much detail as I can so you can understand it wasn't just a bad experience...it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE WEVE EVER HAD. Spanish Hills makes any other place look/feel like a 5 star resort. I'm not a person to leave any reviews...good or bad..but please think twice before going there

This facility is unbelievably terrible. The staff are ill equipped, unknowledgeable, and care-less with the patients. Calls from patients to nurses station don't get answered for HOURS. Have to wear a diaper because you're physically unable to get up and use the restroom? Hope you don't mind sitting in your own feces for hours on end! The night staff is loud and inconsiderate of patients trying to sleep. The cleaning crew cleans around things, like piles of soiled bedding that have been there for days. Messes from a leaky colostomy bag are left for hours. A patient whose wound vac machine stopped working called for a nurse, and after 2 hours of no response, got out of bed unassisted and used a walker to find someone sitting at the nurses station, doing absolutely nothing (except ignoring patient's calls, I guess)! 20 minutes later someone came to change the patient's dressing and told the patient that they "don't know how to do that." What???! What is this place? How are insurance companies still contracted with this facility? How has this place not been completely shut down? How are they not buried under mountains of malpractice lawsuits? If you have any say about where you or a loved one go for rehab care, PLEASE heed my words and DO NOT GO HERE.

The Manager for the Nurses was Nasty and very very Mean to the patients Family . They do not care about the patients all they care about is there pay check . CNA's are at the nurses desk just standing around doing nothing and the lights are going off. I would never again have my family member go there again. The only way for something to happen to this facility is to let Medicare know how they treat there patients and have them look into the Facility .

The facility seems nice at first. Then you get a slap of reality. The nursing staff was uncaring and took longer than 30 minutes to respond to a call button. My brother could not make it to the bathroom by himself and spent plenty of time in his own feces. The real kicker was when he was being released. No notice, on a Saturday and no one to question about the release. The RN Tana gave all family members and the patient different stories about the release, She hung up on us and walked away during conversations. She refused to have a conversation with the patient, family member and her. The patient was left in a wheel chair in the lobby until after midnight, then transport came and did a "dump and run" at his house. The patient was barely able to get into his house on his own. Was suppose to be sent home with home health care and no one has shown. Called back to the facility a couple days later to find out where a procedure was preformed (had an appointment for another at same facility) and was again hung up on. NOT PROFESSIONAL

I visited this facility

Spanish Hills Wellness Suites was newer and very nice-looking. However, when you live there, you pay for it, but not through insurance. They wanted $12000 a month for a private room, and that's ridiculous. But if I have to choose between this place and the other communities, I would put her there as long as the insurance pays for it.

The food and the physical therapy at Spanish Hills are great, but the nursing facility is a 1. I was supposed to be there for rehab. I got 20 minutes of PT a day, and that was it. If I asked them to help me out, the nurses were always too busy. The rooms were OK. I was in a semi-private room for 2 people. It had a microwave and a refrigerator. I tried to make things better there. We had meetings with the entire staff -- big meetings with my son and 5 and 6 department heads -- and they promise you the world but do absolutely nothing.

While it is a nice facility a good portion of the nursing staff is uncaring. While I was told for two days of my transfer there when I arrived they were unprepared and I had no pain meds for over 10 hours because of it just 3 days after major surgery. Many similar instances like this. I witnessed dementia roommates treated badly, one resulting in fall when having been admitted following broken hip. Very sad. Head of nursing wouldn't answer my concerns. If your family member can't tell you of their care don't send them there !

Horrible. My friend is there. They change her every 5 hrs. Several times I have been there visiting. Even after constantly asking them to change her, the let her sit in feces for 2 hrs while I was there.

My mom was previously at Spanish Hills. Their rooms were very nice, and the food was good, but their service was awful. Mom did not receive good care there. They did not come when she rang the bell and did not help with her ulcers.

This is a bad choice for care of your loved ones. You can never speak to anyone about your loved ones issues. All personnel are interested in only protecting their selves..No one that works at this so called care facility will take responsibility for any issues that arise. They are busy blaming each other or someone else. They do not return calls or schedule meetings with the family for status.. I wouldn't put my dog here...Too bad I can't give them a lower score.

My husband is still in the nursing facility, Spanish Hills Wellness Suites. It is very nice. Everybody is very nice and very caring. He did rehab for about a month, but now he is relaxing and walking. The facility is beautiful, very well kept, very modern, and nice. The CNAs and nurses are all kind and very nice. I can recommend them to anybody. There are three meals, but my husband can have snacks in between if he wants.
