Meadowood Senior Living was very expensive, so that's what turned us off on this. We couldn't afford it. However, they have a wood shop where you could go down to. They have places where the men could go. They have a golf tournament and all kinds of games. There's a swimming pool, so that was nice. The staff were excellent. The community was nice, but it was just too expensive for us. We had a good dinner there. The food was good. I wouldn't mind eating there, it tasted very good. The place was very clean. They have people who pick up and clean the areas. Outside is nice, too. They were renovating two rows of the apartments that people moved out of, so that was good. There are a lot of chairs and places to sit down outside. The dining area is big enough for the people who live there. Most of the rooms were renovated. They had brand new appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers put in. Everything was tiled inside the kitchen. They take care of the place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm staying in Meadowood Senior living. Some of the positives about our facility are that we have two pools, a lot of places don't have pools, and we have two of them. I think another is that they've done a lot with the food services where we have three venues for eating and each one has a different menu, and you can go to any one of the three or order from one of the three. I have great neighbors, and I think our location is where, if I wanted to, I could take a train down the city. But we're more out in the country and we have a beautiful view, beautiful campus, and there's many options for whether you want to live in a small house, or an apartment, or the newest buildings on campus called the Grove. I would recommend Meadowood. I think people should to come see it, see the different types of living spaces, and talk to people that are here. Most people that come here just wouldn't go anywhere else. It's a nice area, they provide transportation to stores, to doctor's appointments regularly. We get interesting programs, one of the real features here that made me question whether or not I should leave, was the speakers that we get. We have a committee that will get speakers to come here to speak, and one of the favorites that come a couple of times a year is an archeologist from the University of Pennsylvania. He comes and talks about the mummies, and talks about expeditions he's been on and all of that. It is fascinating, absolutely fascinating. We've had one woman from NASA who came and spoke about the different rovers that have landed on Mars. It's not always the same one, three different Mars rovers have landed on Mars, and she even showed pictures of what Mars looks like from the camera on the rover, and what the sun looks like from Mars. We have different church services, the Jewish service, the Catholic, and the Protestant. Our chaplain is a wonderful woman and she has chapel service for just a medical check in the chapel service on Friday mornings. From our televisions in our apartments, you can see anything that's going on. We have a television channel that gives you all the schedule of things that are going on and what they're having, menus and all that stuff. If you don't feel like going to any of these things, you can see it on your television. They have exercise programs that you can watch on your television, and get up and do the exercises with them, and any program that's going on in the auditorium, if you don't want to go over to the auditorium, you can watch the program right on your television in your apartment, which is very handy. There's some levels, there's independent living, which is where I am, there's the nursing area, and then there is assisted living, and they're building a brand new memory care building, which looks like it's going to be terrific. They have a memory care section now, but they decided to build a whole new memory care area. And they had all of us in on what we would want in if we were to go into memory care about what we thought was important. They do ask us for our opinions on things. I would recommend if anybody is concerned about that, they should look into Meadowood and the plans for the new memory care section. They do take very good care of this place, the cleaning staff and so on do such an excellent job. So I would highly recommend it.

Meadowood Senior Living was amazing. I loved everything about it, except it was a bit more expensive than I would be real comfortable with. It's very rural, and I'd rather be in the city for a while. They had a beautiful 130 acre land with lots of walking trails and absolutely had everything you need. They had a beautiful pool, which I liked because I like to swim. There also was a really nice menu. Someone was just coming out of the dining room and said, "Oh, the food here is really good." The room that we actually went into was pretty small. It was one of the older units, and it was very nice. The newer ones were called "The Grove", which was the newest part of that community; they were absolutely gorgeous. The smallest one was 1,300 square. There were a couple of other ones that were larger, but I wouldn't really need anything larger than that. They had them decorated and appointed very beautifully, and the people were very nice. We talked to some of the residents and staff. Nobody said anything bad about it. I just really love that place. A lot of the things were actually kind of run by the residents. They have committees for the outdoor spaces and creative activities like crafting, woodworking, and gardening. I thought that was kind of neat.

Meadowood was very good, but their program isn't as attractive from a financial point of view. The staff is very good. The rooms were spacious enough and some did and some didn't have patios.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Greedy, not comforting & inadequate. From the stratospheric $6,000 monthly cost of Meadowwood, one would expect excellent care but it is pathetically far from it. My loved one has been there for 9 years and has paid over $500,000 in fees to Meadowood. Her living quarters are dingy and dirty despite paying a weekly cleaning session. The ever expanding, exhorbitant construction is a constant hindrance to the often physically challenged population. The "skilled nursing" staff is rude & unhelpful, often ignoring patients & are actually contentious towards even the most simple request. The dining staff consists of 14 & 15 year old children from neighboring schools & is subpar to say the least. The menu is tired & endlessly rotated, with residents having to contend with sharp tongued 'Garden' staffers. Provided that Meadowood has a captive audience, as many of these well-to-do individuals would be unable to move if they wanted to, this place simply needs to do better. Its more than heartbreaking to watch my loved one deal with these inadequate surroundings week after week. It is terribly distressing to have watched this person work their whole lives just to be marooned on a campus with unqualified, underperforming, nasty individuals to guide the final transition of life. Save yourself the money, time & heartache.

My visit with Meadowood Senior Living was very good. There were cottages, but the one that was available was too far from the clubhouse and from where I'd have to park as I have trouble walking. It's a beautiful place. It has independent living, assisted living, and a nursing home. They had everything including crafts, music, shows, and a beautiful pool. The staff was very good, but he kind of pressured me, which I didn't like. The food was good.

My mother received her rehab for a total knee replacement early August 2017. The therapists are all very supportive, interactive, encouraged her to get to each next level in an appropriate timeframe and listened to her needs. She also enjoyed her hours of rehab each day. She was in a beautifully and decorated private room, which allowed her to rest and obtain solid sleep. Administration, her nurses and aides were professional and attentive to her needs. She thoroughly enjoyed each meal as their selection is varied and the food is absolutely delicious! I have always chosen Meadowood for my parents rehab needs as both my parents had open heart surgeries (2012 and 2016) and their rehab outcomes were very positive!

Meadow Woods has an extensive wellness programs. They have very nice workout equipment and a swimming pool. They have a number of groups that come in and do performances as well. They also have a pretty extensive library, and it is accessible to other communities. It is very open, and they seem to be extremely flexible around how you want to organize your meal plan, how you want to have pets, or how you want to decorate your apartment; there seems to be considerable flexibility. Overall, I had a very good impression of it.

Other

I wish to acknowledge the high degree of professionalism that we encountered throughout the time my husband was at Meadowood - from the very first moment we arrived down through the handling by the personnel in your Admissions area and through the varied well-trained CNAs, skilled and highly professional nurses, through the daily workings by those wearing the "green and beige" outfits - and experiencing the fine comportment of all who work in your food areas, presenting delicious food items each and every day - we were impressed with the ways in which each and every employee at Meadowood handled their duties each day. We also learned many of them had long lengths of service with Meadowood - and truly enjoyed their jobs! I've worked many years - in varied careers - both for-profit and nonprofit - and I've encountered folks - who work, but do not enjoy their work or their interactions with others. They fail to provide service and kindness - and evidence of why they chose such-and-such an occupation. Their unhappiness, readily evident to any/all they encounter. BUT, this is not evident at Meadowood. The high level of staff commitment that you have within the environment of Meadowood is remarkable. Keep up the great work that all of you do!

Meadowood was lovely. I had lunch there, and the food seemed nice. However, it's way out from where I had lived, and it would be 15 to 18 miles from where I live now. It was not close to public transportation either, which is a big consideration, but there's a nice little town that's not far with lovely shops and nice restaurants. The staff seemed very friendly. It had one and two-bedroom apartments. They had independent living, intermediate, and nursing homes. It's very close to Valley Forge. The people seemed very nice there.

Meadowood was very nice and with comparable prices. One thing we didn't like is the rooms were outside basically. You had to go outside the facility to go to the dining area and my parents would not have liked that.

I have seen Meadowood and it's a very nice facility. The property seems well taken care. It is continuing care community, but I eliminated it because it was too expensive. I saw that some of the residents needed help and some are more active.

Meadowood was a very beautiful place. We ate in the dining room and it was very good. The people that we met were interesting. Their food was delicious and their dining room was pretty. The rooms and the cottages were beautiful. Their grounds were very nice with lots of plants and flowers. They had a gym and a swimming pool. They went on trips and they had lots of activities. I would recommend this facility to others.

They did not pay adequate attention to my grandfather. The call bell would be on for 30 minutes plus, and no nurses or aides would attend to him. I understand that you are busy, or he is not on your caseload, but if he is soiled for example, it is not right to keep him in such a state until you can get around to it. If you need more staff, get more staff, but no one deserves to be treated in such a way. Also, when we arrived and asked to speak to his nurse about how he was doing that day, we were greeted with cold stares, or ignorance, which is even worse. How can you be caring for a patient all day and know nothing about them? We didn't ask difficult questions, just whether or not he had been verbal that day, wether or not he seemed confused- all something someone, especially in the healthcare field, would be able to determine in a reasonably short amount of time.

We visited Meadowood in Worcester. They have a very beautiful place and very clean. They were very amenable and very informative. Meadowood is the place to be. I appreciate the attention of the staff and the friendships of the residents. We did enjoy our visit in this retirement home.

Meadowood retirement community is a sprawling retirement community located in beautiful Worcester Pennsylvania. This quiet, peaceful place is probably the nicest retirement community I have ever been to. About five years ago my aunt and uncle moved there, and they liked it so much that they convinced an uncle of mine from California to move all the way across the country to join them. Residents can choose between single, cottage style homes or stylish studio type apartments that have spacious rooms and wonderful views. Residents also have access to on site medical help, athletic facilities, and various cultural activities including an annual art show taking place this month. All in all, the community does a perfect job of providing the peace and comfort of country living with amenities that can match any high priced condominium you will find in down town Philadelphia. Meadowood was voted the best retirement community of Montgomery County in 2011, and I have no doubt that it will continue to be a leader in the field for many years to come.

Beautiful setting offering all types of living arrangements! The person who may want total independant living can come here and know arrangemnts can be made through whatever the next stages of life and aging can bring. The entire staff is held to high expectations. This facility is friendly and open, but seems to make it clear they will deal with nothing but the best the staff can give. One resident is a woman who was head of a business dealing with seniors; I got to know her pretty well. She is open about what type of care she receives and sees given to others, and I assure anyone out there..if this lady who expects things to be handled in a top of the line way.....is content and happy...there would be absolutely no reason to feel any doubt. The community is lively, offers much in the way of entertainment and activity to it's residents. There is a definate upbeat feel to the entire community. I would recommend this with no hesitation whatsoever.
