I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was at life care after a fall in Sept 2023 tell I moved her Oct 12 2023.The care was awful my mom pushed bell to go to restroom she is 96 years old she was told to just poop in her diaper no one came back to take her to toilet for 1.5 hrs her bottom was fire red burned from stool. If she pushes button they turn off and say they will be right back don't come for 2 hrs. She was put standing at sink to brush teeth alone she tried to reach bell to pull and fell and hit her head face and head had large lump and bruises. My mom has no memory problems to this date balances her own check book and pays all her own bills, food was awful scrambled eggs most days oatmeal no condiments. My mother has never worn a diaper in her adult life and hasnt wear one since leaving there. If you family is there you need to be there daily and see what is not being done. I was in Texas and wasn't able to come there until the date I did and moved her back to Texas.

My mom was in for strengthening therapy, we were please in the beginning, but then she developed other issues, we felt these were being ignored, felt like they were not trying to help, she was throwing up and not eating, sleeping all day and lathargic, for days. We finally had her taken to the hospital where they thought she might not make it. i will never recomend this place. Plus her food was always cold when she got it and the meat was tough, even tho we constantly complained.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad had a terrible experience at Lifecare. He was admitted for falling on his side but had not broken anything. Because of this he was not able to walk but it was like pulling teeth to get the staff to consistently get him out of bed. The last week he was there nobody got him out of bed to even sit while he ate meals. During his stay he had 2 iphone charging cords and plugs stolen a pair of reading glasses and boots to protect his heels. The first reaction from lifecare staff was to say my dad had none of these things when he checked in and i personally saw everyone of these things in his room. While they finally offered to pay for just one of the chargers I have not received anything or heard from anyone The TV which was all he had was not working for approx 3 weeks until I got them to change his room. On average when my dad would push his call light it took over 30-45 minutes for someone to show up. My dad passed away 4 days after getting out of lifecare and why diagnosed with Pneumonia, Sepsis and Kidney failure. Clearly this all happened in the 5 weeks he was at lifecare and nobody noticed or treated him for anything even though he was getting weaker and weaker. If not for me pushing to speak with the staff nobody was reaching out to me proactivley to discuss my dad situation and lack of progress. While I thought the physical therapy team was good and when I met with them they were attentive the rest of the system was a completely disaster.

There is great therapy here. Patients are in and out before you know it if they work hard. Activities, food, and staff are great too! They have private rooms unlike any other place I’ve seen!

My MIL was a Resident at Life care Center of Kirkland. The staff provided exceptional care to her, and went out of their way to help make sure her needs were being met. They try to add a personal touch to the care they provide to their Residents. The rooms are clean, staff are helpful, they have a wonderful selection of activities and are always open to new ideas.

My husband was in Life Care Center for several months before his operation. It was a clean, smaller facility in a better location.

Physical and occupational therapist good. Medical doctor and some nurses were horrible. Patient given toxic level of medication. Level was 3 times over safe level. Rushed to hospital and it took 10 days in hospital to return levels to safe level.

They seemed professional at Lifecare Center of Kirkland. It seemed more hospital-like and not a place to live, but more like a place where you are cared for. My dad lived there about ten years ago, and it was very different then. It was not clean or friendly, and it was dark. I was very unhappy with it then, but when I visited few months ago, it seemed much cleaner, much better, and brighter.

I was very happy with Life Care Center. It was a very good place, and the food was good. Their physical and occupational therapists were good. They had entertainment or something going on everyday. They may have a band, a cooking class, or crafts. They try and keep people occupied; they were very good at that.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My Mom recently spent 4 weeks in the rehab area for a fractured arm and wound care. There were so many negative things that took place it would take pages to document. All I can say is luckily she is of sound mind and was able to question things that were taking place with her care. While some of the nurses, aides and therapists were great (and I wish I could call you out for your wonderful care), the majority are untrained and clearly not happy to be there (and I really wish I could name them as well). I think the problems here are the same you would encounter at most of these faciities now days. The main thing is to not be afraid to speak up. Make sure the family is involved and stays on top of things. She did say the food wasn't bad. I know that these people have a hard job, but at the end of the day it is their job, at least put a smile on your face and remember that for some of these people you are the only one they see.

My mom is at Life Care Center of Kirkland. I toured the area and I saw that the food is okay. They have exercise activity. They also have movie theatre and they do games. The price is also right. I am still in the process of observing the place.

Life Care Center Kirkland is a very light and airy facility. The place has a very friendly feeling. It's got a lot of big rooms around for dining and for games. Our relative that was there was pleased with the place. I thought it was very nice. The staff is very professional and very helpful. The physical and occupational therapy is good. We're very pleased.

I visited this facility

Life Care of Kirkland was close to home and had in-house physical therapy. Nothing else can be said about it that isn't negative. The staff was slow to respond, the food nearly always inedible, and the doctors inconsiderate. My mother had to wait an hour before a staff member would respond to the call button to help her to the bathroom. The physical therapists misinformed us about my mother's progress, using sly measures to imply that her knee was bending a certain number of degrees when it was not. The physical therapist she currently sees was so horrified at her lack of progress that my mother ended up having her knee manipulated under anesthesia. Their activities were poorly planned, resulting in a five hour trip to Red Lobster once upon a time. On that trap, my mom was told by another resident that had soiled herself that if they didn't get back to Life Care in time, she wouldn't be changed for three hours. The experience was awful enough for me to promise my mother that I would pay for twenty-four hour nursing aides if or when she needs them.

This is an extremely large and busy center. Staff seem to be occupied almost all of the time in doing paperwork. There was not enough staff attention to prevent repeated falls and injury to residents. Even after the falls, nothing appeared to be being done to prevent more. Nobody at the center showed transparency or accountability. An annoying bell on the wall rang, without being answered by any staff, for at least half an hour (until a long time after visitors pointed out the problem to staff). A cat ate from its food dish in the main lounge area, dodging around people. It finally approached and submitted to being petted; people who like animals would be expected to be pleased that there was a house cat (but not, for example, people with fur allergies). Residents do not have private rooms, but share space with other people whom they do not know and who do not necessarily speak to them.It is nice that, among the very many people at this busy place, a talkative resident approached visitors and other residents in a friendly way.It is nice that there are regularly scheduled, frequent sessions at which a designated staff member helps a resident get exercise. The resident was given an opportunity to do as much walking as possible. The scheduled programs of interesting activities are also an advantage. Many residents were involved, and appeared pleased and interested. However, not every resident felt like attending a fashion show (held in a public sitting area which was small compared to the number of residents). There was no choice of other activities. No arrangement appeared to be made for suggestions about things that residents wanted to do.The problems with transparency, accountability, and injury seemed to be especially important.
