Terrible!!!!!!! can't believe how stupid i was to even suggest putting my mom there for skilled nursing after reading reviews and here I am writing one myself . mom had a fall broke her arm December 26th 2019 treated at ochsner jefferson hwy released a week later for skilled nursing for occupational and physical .i really thought it would be great to have her so close to me like a mile i could check on her a few times a day like i did . the therapy part was good helped her alot . I did not like the old beds or sheets with awful stains on them i brought moms sheets from home tried to make her comfortable as possible .The food was awful most time mom didn't eat much . After 5pm it was a ghost town 20 to 30 patients per LPN . A handful of nice workers the rest need new jobs because they don't like what they do and it shows . ring the bell if you need help to bathroom mom was on fall risk and so was her roommate you were lucky to get help within 30 minutes... mom did great improving daily i went 3 times a day massage her bruises made sure she got a shower because they only shower 3days a week . mom stayed 14 days she was released going home with home health ect . little did i know the day she checked out we get home i had a message from ochsner critical alert on the patient portal immediate attention asap ... my mom was poisoned overdosed with her blood thinner coumadin 8 times higher than it should of been . The Dr we never met before had lab work drawn 3 times a week but didn't adjust her millilligrams so everyday she was given 7 mg daily mom normal dose went from 2. 2.5 ... i could not get any answer who, what, how ??? All I knew mom was at a very high risk for internal bleeding a hit to the head could of killed her ... WHAT a joke they tried to cover it up but too late i got the medication list with the 7 mg dose and the pills .. I have written my complaint to the state and had a quick reply they will do a full investigation i looking so forward to meeting with them . I,M not only speaking for my mother but for every elderly person in there I'm your voice . what a nightmare ...

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm in Chateau Living Center right now. It's very nice here, but the help is not so good. They're understaffed. The dining area is fine. You get three meals a day, and the food is very good. They have bingo and music. I have a nice-sized room, and I have a roommate.

One of rhe MANY complaints i have is that no bed bath was given to her for 3.5 weeks!!!!!!! The workers have no compassion, hearts or soul!!!!! Please DO NOT send your loved ones here!!! I wonder how many people have died at the hands of these horrible people!!!!

We placed my father at Chateau Living Center. It is what it is. They need a whole lot more staff for the number of residents that they have. They don’t have staff for everyone. If we ask, we get the information, but if we don’t ask, we don’t get the information, so we ask every day. It’s a facility that accepts Medicaid; it’s not a private pay facility, and I guess that's why it is the way it is, which is not good.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was in Chateau. They provided nursing care, that was why I went there. My experience there was great. It was a very attractive place. I had a large private room. They had rooms on either side of the atrium, like a couple of blocks long. They had trees growing in there. They had activities. They had Mass a couple of times a week. They had other activities. They played bingo and things like that with the patients or the residents. Then they had they rehab facility at the other end. They had groups that come and sing. I would recommend Chateau. I was there for rehab for a week.

My husband was at Chateau Living. It was a nursing home and a rehab. Their rehab department was exceptional. It was like going to a gym and having a personal trainer. At Chateau Living, people just did really well. The staff truly cared about the patients. There was love in their voice and love in how they handle them. It wasn't just the physical therapists, I mean, it was everybody that was there. It was amazing. The rooms were very large and very comfortable. They accommodate visitors well. My husband was in a semi-private room, but it was wheelchair accessible, where he could get into the wheelchair, and he actually get into the shower on a wheelchair. They offered meals for family members for like $5. You waited until the patients were served, but they usually had extra food. It was very nice. It was a beautiful facility. The ceiling in the main dining room was just gorgeous. It was a wonderful environment.

The facility is beautiful but I feel the focus is more of the money and not the people's health. My very alert and healthy elderly uncle lived there for years and due to " getting on his nurses nerves" he was sent to a mental health facility where he was mistreated and drugged for about 2-3 weeks and after returning back to Chateau he was barely able to speak or sit up and died within a week. Do not send your love ones there if you don't want them ignored/mistreated. With all of the deaths due to falls and being mistreated I don't understand how that place is still open.

I visited this facility

About 90 percent of the staff at Chateau Living Center was very polite, nice, and caring. For the most part, every people I have met there were very nice. We only had one incident the whole time my mom was there. It was with this guy who was really rude to my mom. They had like an atrium area that was really nice, and it's very big. The food was not bad; it was definitely edible. It is pretty nice the way they had the dining room set up. It was similar to a cafeteria area, but there were staff serving the elderly. They do have activities like bingo, and they have crafts. At certain times they serve coffee, and at certain times they are playing games and different things. Security was really good and set up really nice.

WOW!!! All I can say is WOW!. I was very hesitant about placing my loved one in a nursing home but the doctors all agreed that it was time. I took a tour of the place and immediately noticed that it was very nice and well kept. I initially met with some very friendly ladies in the front offices. Everyone was very kind and it was clear that they all cared about their jobs. I had toured 3 other facilities in the area and none compared to Chateau! The decision was made and we admitted our loved one to Chateau. I will not drag this review out but for the most part I never had to worry about my loved one. The staff was not perfect but every issue I had was addressed to my likings. I would recommend this facility to a friend. I would like to mention that everyone has different ways of grieving so please be careful of other family members who may not be realistic about their loved ones condition. I only mention this because shortly after I admitted my loved one, I was attacked by 2 family members who had their loved ones in the facility. They showered me with negative and awful comments about the facility and the administration. For 2 weeks I second guessed my decision about my decision to place my loved one here. I am glad I refused to let a few bitter women deter my decision. I later found out that the women who had all of those negative things to say about the facility have actually had their loved one in this facility for several years. If they truly felt it was so awful surely they would have moved their loved one to another facility? I encourage you to visit/tour as many of the facilities in the are as you can and make your decision based on what is best for you and your loved one. Chateau Living Center was a perfect fit form my family.

The facility is very nice but the owners and administrators are only concerned about making money. They save money by hiring the minimum staff required by law. There were many times when the ratio of certified nursing assistants to residents was 40 to 1. Totally unacceptable!!! The reason - no backup staff. If an employee called in sick the remaining staff had to pick up the slack. In their zeal to save money residents suffered. Nurses and aids were caring and tried to do the best they could under difficult circumstances but the workload was too much for one individual. Elderly residents often had to wait until 7PM for their evening meal. Very tired residents had to wait long beyond their bed-time for assistance getting into bed. It’s sad that such a beautiful facility is marred by greedy owners and administrators.

My dad was at Chateau Living Center. My mother and my cousin went to see that facility. They thought that it would be a nice place so they chose that and they also had an opening at that time. My dad was there for two and a half months. When he went in, he was walking with a walker. The very first day that he was there they took his walker away and they gave him wheelchair. They put a diaper on him even though he still wants to go to the bathroom. He didn’t like that so he was quite argumentative about that. They ended up giving him drug just to keep him quiet and because of the drug he wasn’t eating. He lost a lot of muscle tone and a lot of weight. He had another stroke and he lost 100 lbs. The facility is pretty much like a hospital setting. They have single or double room occupancy. The facility itself is very, very clean. It's just they really don’t take care of their patients or attend to you like you should be attended to. There were many days when I went there after work and he had been laying there with his diaper full of pee and poop. It was hard for him to swallow and his tray had chunky food instead of pureed food. We already told them that many times, but they just keep on bringing that type of food. When I go there, he's got his tray without even a drink. We told them that he has no drink, so they bring it to him but without even a straw. He has become bedridden. I really think they didn’t attend to him or treat his condition well. I would not recommend them to anyone.

My dad is in Chateau Living Center now. The facility is only like 5 minutes away from my home. I'm pretty happy with this facility for my dad. He got a shared room. It is large with it's own bathroom with a shower. Their nurses and everyone working there are very nice. I don't like some of their aides because they don't seem to care. Most of them are pretty good though. My dad is not happy being there. He is 91 and he wouldn't be happy anywhere. The food they serve there is delicious. He has gained 21 pounds. The services he got there are better than I can do for him because I can't lift him and change his diapers, etc., I think he's in the best place. I'm happy where he is.

Facilities are clean and beautifully appointed. This is a skilled nursing locked down facility for those with memory care needs. Patients are mobile, in wheel chairs, and bedbound. There is one nurse for about 3 patients and nurse aides for almost all. Mom's room is cleaned daily and she is bathed every other day. There are group activities such as bingo, chair exercises, and guest musicians to come and play music. When mom is ill, they are right on top of things, contact our family and send her to the ER for evaluation. They have been kind to us as visitors and just as kind to our mother.

I visited this facility

My experience with the facility was very positive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were politely welcomes into the facility by a member of staff and shown to where the small party was being held. The entrance of the facility was very secure and as soon as we entered the building staff were aware of us. Once we were shown to the room the staff asked us when we would like my friends mum to be brought round as it was a surprise. The staff has provided food and drink for the party at a small extra cost and it was exceptionally laid out. The facilities were excellent there was plenty of room in the building for wheel chair access. There were visitor restrooms and resident restrooms and also separate rooms for visitors to go in if needed. The staff were excellent at helping out with the food and drinks but also made the party feel private. The staff came to check my friends mum was ok in a number of occasions and if she needed the restroom. After the party was over I went to my friends mum room to have a look. I was pleasantly surprised it was tastefull decorated and also had a personal touch to it with my friends mums paintings. The building was also very clean and tidy. Overall my experience there was fantastic and the only negative feedback I have is that some of the walls in the corridors needed a lick of paint. I would definitely recommend the facility to others and would consider it if the time ever came for me or my family to need an assisted living facility.

I visited this facility

I have visited this place numberous times in the past 20 years. I remember going there first for field trips from our local catholic school and now visit to feel good and help out the genuine souls there. I will admit I have not been to many nursing homes but this one always seems to on top. The staff is always friendly and working hard. The place is very clean, comforting and homey. The elderly always seems to be happy and visitors, whether volunteers or local school children really seem to brighten up their day. It seems there are always activities and there are themes depending on what time of year it is. (Christmas Themes, Mardi gras etc.) This place is located in Kenner right by Muss Bertolino playground and has been a mainstay in the community for awhile. I believe with the staff, location and elderly that this place will be here forever and that is great for this community. I have nothing bad to say about Chateau Living Center and have seen it for the last two decades which is very encouraging.

Over the past few years my Nanny has had many health problems. She is now prone to mini-strikes and seizures. These health problems have made it impractical for her to live on her own. We were limited in where we could place her and were able to find the Chateau Living Facility near to her home. It is conveniently located in Kenner to most of her family and allows everyone to visit her frequently. We are especially happy with the amount of time that they get their residents out of the room and active. This is helping to keep my Nanny's mind much sharper. We have been very pleased with the care that she is receiving and the fact they are instrumental in helping her to return to the health that she needs to in order to be able to return home. While we do hope that the stay in the facility is temporary, if it needs to be a permanent home we will be happy with it.
