I am/was a resident of this facility

With the exception of a painful few, most employees do not give a damn about their patients. The most recent example is they ran out of one of my medications...the one I have for intensive PAIN! It is supposed to be delivered "tonight", but I am not holding my breath. Instead, I am crying and screaming in pain and frustration! Further, do not count on getting your medication from an actual nurse; they were "low on staff" so we had CNA's passing meds so cross your fingers you are actually getting the correct one(s)! How are the rooms? Like everything else: Falling apart. They also do not have safety rails, claiming they are "illegal" (someone misread that law! They are only considered to be "restraints" if you use ALL FOUR! So, if you are fearful of falling out of bed, good luck! Interactions with staff: As I stated, they are terrible. Activities: Smoking, since there ARE no other activities! No amenities to speak of, unless you consider broken TVs to be an "amenity.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

When my husband went into this facility I was really scared that no one would take care of him like I did at home. I had to get used to the fact that his medicaid only pays for a shared room. However, I have to say that right from the beginning when he was admitted he was embraced by the staff. Steve is not an easy patient. He's always swatting at a nurse or trying to get up and walk when he can't but this staff, really looks out for him. I met Mark first who is a consummate professional and could not be of more help to me. Mark would talk with me about Dementia and help me understand what I could be facing. That meant so much to me. Janine, well she's an angel. A nurse with a heart of gold for the patients. Always there with a smile on my daily visits. J, who is in administration has a delightful smile in her voice and always remembers my name. Brandy, Marissa, Rocio, Shanta, Yvonne, CeCe, Grace Sarah, Keri and Cari, Twyla and so many more have earned my respect for their hard, sometimes demanding work that they do without complaints. I try to remember all their names as well. I use their names because they have become part of my extended family. When you are choosing a facility it's so much about the care that matters, and I feel that this was the best decision available for my Steve.

I am/was a resident of this facility

This is all new to me being sick and having to be taken care of. I feel that most of the staff go above and beyond the call of duty in making sure that my sickness is taken care of in a quick and orderly fashion. Like with anything else there’s pros and cons. Some of the cons would be people messing up some of the pros.

I am/was a resident of this facility

This is the worse place in Nevada I've been here for over 3 years they won't spend a dime to fix worn put equipment they would rather piece together parts to make a wheelchair instead of buying a replacement the administration constantly keeps it short handed so class have over 15plus patients to take Cate of

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I have my grandfather placed in Henderson Healthcare Center. He’s not and I’m not happy with the facility. My grandfather has Alzheimer's, and I don’t think that they do all they can to help as far as trying to keep his memory fresh and reminding him of little things like his snacks. Their communication is terrible. Trying to get them to cooperate in things that I need to get done for my grandfather is very difficult. They requested that I let them set up transportation for his doctor’s appointments, and he missed 6 appointments until I’ve said enough is enough and that I’ll take him myself. They have a few nurses there that are nice. They try to be as helpful as they can within their job, but I’ve been completely less than impressed with the place. There’s a horrible odor. The location is OK; it’s not too far out in Henderson. There is a hospital probably 2 miles off the road and a mall probably 5 miles away. When you go look into the facility, they’re not exactly truthful on the process of things and what will happen as far as insurances or Medicaid, things like that.

I visited this facility

I went to visit my grandmother in this facility in December. The facility was clean but older and quite drab. There was a strange smell in the hallways that I cannot describe. My biggest disappointment at this facility was the lack of supervision. My grandmother has severe mental issues, and when we went to visit we were basically able to walk in completely unnoticed and she was not looked in on for the entire three hours we visited. My grandmother knew the elevator code (she lives on the second floor) and she basically had free rein to go anywhere on the grounds. She even followed us to the car at one point and could have left that moment with no one to stop her. The lack of security astounded me. Although there were plenty of staff roaming the hallways, as I passed rooms I did not see any member of the staff helping or checking on patients.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

At first the facility looks nice, clean, and professional. However, once I entered and wandered around the grounds, my opinion changed drastically. The entire building was older, dirty, and not kept up well. The floors were stained and chipped. The walls were stained and dirty. The elevators were ancient and made horrible noises which frightened the patients. The staff was unfriendly and basically useless. They seemed very uncaring and jaded, almost as if they were told to be mean to the residents. I watched nurses and assistants sitting around gossiping and bad-mouthing patients while some patients were in need of attention. There was one floor that only housed the very mentally ill. It was locked and the patients were suppose to be given the utmost attention. Several times when I visited I found several of those patients either outside on the curb or wandering elsewhere in the buildings. Once again, the staff was too busy talking or eating to notice. Many patients complained about the lack of attention, the service, and especially the food. Not that it should be from a gourmet kitchen, but it should be edible. Many times the food was a mystery, inedible, tasteless or too rubbery to eat. I used to take my aunt food to eat because she couldn't eat anything the staff brought to her. For a facility that is suppose to be taking care of the elderly, there was no empathy and dirty floors.
