Sincere Thank You to Nurses, Staff, and Administration who helped to care for my Godfather / Uncle at Mountain City Nursing & Rehab Center in Hazleton, Pa. My Uncle was there for almost 2 years, and was on Hospice the last few months of his stay. My Aunt was so impressed with the Nursing Care that my Uncle got and how she, his wife, was treated. The communication and support was excellent. My Uncle was a wonderful and yet difficult man to care for - my Aunt had him at home in a hospital bed for 10 years before admission there. The Nurses and Staff treated him with kindness and dignity despite his actions and behaviors. Even through CoVid, my Aunt was there as much as she could, to visit and feed him. She observed the Nurses & Staff giving meds, moving, toileting, washing, and changing him. They were always so kind. When he passes away, the staff knew her, hugged her, and shared the pain of her loss. She has even told us that is where she wants to be when it is no longer safe for her to be at her own home. So very grateful, God Daughter / Niece who is a Nurse.

I had nothing but a great experience for my dad during his stay. Not everything is perfect, but the administrative staff are more than willing to fix any problems reported to them. They have a new Administrator and Director of Nursing and they are very responsive. I had a couple of issues that came up and as soon as it was reported to the Administrator, it was fixed and never happened again. I was given is business card and told to call him personally any time of the day or night. Where do you get customer service like this anymore. Nothing is ever perfect, but as long as they are willing to fix problems and not ignore them, what more can anyone ask.

This place sucks big time. the food is worse than bad. Everything is out of a can. There is nothing fresh, It's horribly understaffed, The aides and nurses are over-worked and underpaid. When you ring for help, it could take 1/2 hour to get help .Most of the staff are caring and considerate, but overworked. Some of the problems are due to government regulations restricting the care they can give. Such as, no heating pads, tums or ben-gay allowed You can get NOTHING with a doctors orders. One day I can leave the floor unassisted, the next not.

Nightmare! I was brought in for rehab. Stayed less than one day--ended up back in the hospital because of their neglect. Doctor never saw me--only prescribed through the phone. Nurse Barbara is rude to me and to my family. Rooms are dark and depressing. They gave me incorrect medicine. They mixed mentally ill people in with long-time residents and rehab patients. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I credit my family for getting me out of there when they did. I might not be here to write this if they hadn't. Absolutely NO STARS! Absolutely DO NOT recommend!

My 90 year old father has just completed his first month at Mt. City. My family and I are very pleased with his care and the overall conditions thus far. Staff are courteous and caring. All my father's needs are met on a timely basis. The administration was extremely thorough when they did the orientation.

My Mother was in this place for a couple of years and really hated it she said the food was terrible the staff were rude and lazy and when she got sick it would take weeks to see a Doctor I wanted to report this place to the state but my Mother would not let me she said they would take it out on her and we did not have the means of moving her this last time my Mother got sick she wanted to die rather then spend any more time in Mountain city so she would not take her meds and passed away HOW BAD IS THAT PLACE that you would rather die then stay there she was 92 .
