My mother was there. I will say Heath Village is very nice. She was in independent living which was great. She eventually ended up in Mayflower. The Mayflower staff was wonderful and caring. Then she was in the Meadows - that is where the one star comes in. She was bed-ridden. They rarely tried to get her up in a chair. Nurse aides (and a few of the nurses-especially one that was there for quite a while) were really unbelievably awful. 90% of the times I visited her water and phone would be completely out of her reach. I actually caught them being very rough with her a couple of times but she complained about it often. Oh - and all the walls were gray - so cheerful! Plus it was $18K per month. A lot of money for a lot of nothing.

I've visited Heath Village, it's beautiful, the people were very friendly, it's like family-focused. They have a studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 2-bedroom with an additional room, and the rooms have balconies. It's a nice facility and most of the apartments were stand-alone, so they're accessible from the street and they're not inside. They also have cottages for independent living, and the assisted living is in one building. The food was excellent, they have multiple activities, and they have a lot of the same amenities as the other places I toured. They do events for family or extended family as well, it's beautiful. They have payment options, and the monthly rent was quite costly, and they do not have Medicare so it's private pay only.

We visited Heath Village. It was quite lovely, with a beautiful setting, and the scenery was very nice. It is kind of hilly and mountainous. All of the facilities are one story except in the main house, which is an assisted living facility, as well on the second and third floors. The ground floor has common areas like restaurants, a gaming room, a chapel, and a library. All very nice. The apartments were also nice, and we saw the one that would have been right for my brother-in-law, a two-bedroom with a den and a one and a half bathroom. It was quite nice there. They were in the process of painting it when we went to take a look. It had a lovely kitchen, nice granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, tile in the kitchen, wood throughout everywhere else except in the bedroom, which was carpeted. Everything was lovely. The only problem that I saw was the walking distance. He had a stroke, which affected his left leg, so he has difficulty walking, and he has congestive heart failure, which makes it difficult to breathe. The pathways leading from where you park your car to your apartment are quite a long walk, and for his apartment specifically, it was uphill. So he would have to stop four or five times along the way in order to catch his breath. I would certainly recommend this for people who are capable of walking and have the energy and the activity level to be able to do that. For my brother-in-law, it would be completely wrong; too much walking. I said to him, you could always get a motorized scooter, but he said it is for older people. It does have carports, so for an additional charge you can get a carport for your car. It had electricity so you could plug in. I forget what they call that, but it is like an engine warmer so your battery does not die. I have good things to say about it, but the drawback was the walking. It was very scattered. You have this independent little housing units, little communities, scattered around the hundred acres, and that just makes getting around from one place to another difficult. They do have shuttle service so they say if you call a golf cart will pick you up and take you to wherever you want to go on campus. I supposed that is a possibility, but you still have to get from your apartment to the parking lot, and that is still a walk.

My family and I cannot say enough about how amazing Heath Village Health Care Center is. Our dad resided at the Health Care Center 1st floor for more than 3 years and during this time was given the most exceptional care. The nursing staff including the nurse's aids have an abundance of caring and compassion for the people who they need to nurture. We have spent enough time there to actually see how these caring individuals or should we say 'angels' interact and care for the residents. They are truly amazing and kind people! Thank you Heath Village!

My mother stayed at Heath Village. The people were nice and took care of her, but it was cost prohibitive for her to stay there longer. She went to physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. She watched TV and they had entertainment come in. They had three restaurants inside their complex. She was in a room with another patient when she was there. They had bus rides to go shopping and to different events.

I'm in Heath Village. It's beautiful, the exterior is lovely, and it's extremely well maintained. The staff is fine. A lot of people use the dining area, but I cook my own meals. They have excellent facilities. I enjoy bocce and I have a garden. My apartment has a kitchen, a living room, dining room, bedroom, and a full and half bath. I like it very much. It's on a very large piece of property and all the units are on one floor. The activities are very good. It's reasonably priced.
