My mother was a rehab patient. First of all, I need to commend some of the staff. PT Ronell was excellent! OT was very nice. Social worker Terry was great! However, the food was inedible. We had to bring our mother food to eat. She did not get her meds at appropriate times. It was loud at night and impossible to rest. We were glad to get our mother home. I’m thankful my mother is in her right mind and able to speak up for herself.

We found the Belaire Health Care Center for my mother. She's only been there a little bit, I guess it's going good, we can't go inside the facility because of the COVID, but we can visit at the window and with a telephone. You just see her in her room, they put her in a wheelchair, roll her to the window, and give her the phone. The staff is so far very nice and helpful. She has a private room, it looks nice, it has a hospital bed, but it has like a headboard and footboard that kind of looked like a home bed and a chair. It's nice. It looks clean, very clean everywhere, even outside. Her Medicare and her supplementary insurance is paying for it up to 100 days, she's in rehabilitation, and if she doesn't show progress she may have to leave and go somewhere else.

My sister is in Belaire Health Care Center. Because of the COVID, they wouldn't let us in there. I was there for 20 minutes sitting outside during the Thanksgiving week to stop for my sister. It seems OK. To me, it's too expensive, but it is what it is. So far, the staff has been pretty good and pretty decent. The only thing I hate about it, and it's not their fault, it's the State's fault, because COVID is so widespread, they're not letting in people to see their loved ones, and I can understand that. I know they've got an activity room, but I don't know what's in there. She's not complaining about the food, but I take her something to eat over there one day during the week. They've got an exercise room, and I've seen that before when I went in. When you first went in, you see an office area, and what I saw was clean.

My sister-in-law is in Belaire Health Care Center. She is a stroke victim and still partially paralyzed in one leg. They're relatively expensive, but the level of care is very good. They take good care of her, feed her, wash her, and assist her with her bathroom needs. They engage in a lot of physical therapy. They were doing everything they could as far as physical therapy was concerned until they realized she wasn't making any progress. The staff is very nice. The location is a little bit older and a little bit more worn than the others but very well appointed and well cared for. She likes everything but the cost. The semi-privates are smaller and not quite as well appointed as the others. We don't have any problems with them other than the amount of money that we have to pay.

My friend is fine at Belaire. He doesn't like the food there, but everything else is fine. The place was always clean when we're there. He has not complained. He said they're nice to him. His wife said they're good, and the people are friendly. I used to go on a weekend, so there's not a whole lot of staff. The room is clean, and the dining room is always clean, but it needs to be upgraded a little bit. The TVs are real small in the room, and for older people that's not good because a lot of them had trouble seeing. The TV screens in the private rooms should be a little larger. A lot of the people complained about that. Another thing is I don't get any channels on them, and I don't know if they don't furnish the cable or if they have to pay for it separately.
