I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was a resident of Manor Pines. It was a very good facility. They show a lot of care and concern for the patient. The staff member was very responsive. They showed attention to detail and they are caring. The rooms were a good size. They were modern considering the overall building was old, but they did keep it up. It was clean. They have activities like card games and bingo.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I moved into Manor Pines. It was convenient to where I was living, and I was familiar with other people that had lived there. The therapy is pretty good. The food is pretty bad and not very appetizing at all. It's not that nutritious. The staff is pretty good. They have a happy hour. They also play bingo two or three times a week. There are activities that they do. If you can't go on your own, they'll come and get you and take you to where the activities are. It is an older place and needs a few repairs here and there. A fresh coat of paint on the walls would be nice. My insurance company is paying for this right now.

I chose Manor Pines and my friend is there. It's a garden type of community. Their staff is professional and dedicated to you. They have typical American cuisine. We had turkey and yams. Amenities include on-site physical and occupational therapy, daily activities, and walkable grounds. Everything my friend needs is available on site.

Manor Pines is a great rehab facility. The entire staff is fantastic. They genuinely care, work together to provide patient support, communicate effectively and are proactive problem solvers. The PT and OT teams are the perfect mix of motivating and kind, they work in partnership to get results! COVID protocols are in place for all staff, PPE, procedures, testing and notification. The RNs and CNAs work together, are knowledgeable and professional. The facility has been renovated, it’s not state of the art but the care and professionalism more than make up for it. PT & OT rehab rooms are well outfitted and the staff dedication, knowledge and expertise is superlative. I was concerned upon admittance and am pleased to say I truly feel cared for and supported on my rehab journey.

My husband is in Manor Pines for rehab. The nurses are really, really good. The place is clean, and they are very attentive. I think he's in good hands there. It's very conservative and traditional. It's an old facility, but they keep it up nice. The most important thing is the staff. They have an events calendar. Every day there is something they can do if they want to, but it also depends on how mobile they are. They do take your temperature. When you come in, you have to sign in. You have to give a report on where you have been. They take it very seriously.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom had a stroke in December right before Christmas, and then the hospital transferred her to Manor Pines for rehab. It was OK, but I really can't tell much because at that time you didn't really get to visit as often because of COVID. I spoke with them, and they were helpful. My mom used to have problems answering the phone, so we would wind up talking to the nurse's station a lot of the time, and they would go assist Mom. Overall, it was an OK experience, and Mom was OK there. From the outside, it was very nice, and the layout was fine. The staff was very friendly. They have a courtyard there, and that's where you have visitations. The layout was nice; the courtyard was right in the middle, and all the rooms were around it. I like that my mom had her own room, and that she didn't have to share a room. They also put them in the bed that was closest to the window, so you're able to come, bring a little whiteboard, and kind of talk to them or wave at them through the window. They were trying to do things and still keep people in touch with their families. The staff members were good and very responsive.

I visited this facility

I am a friend or relative of resident This is an old, dirty facility. When my family member was there for rehab, I saw dirty common areas with food sitting out, dirty table cloths and cockroaches. When my family member needed to be changed, and rang the call button, he often had to sit for as long as two hours before a nurse or aide would attend to him. He was in isolation for an infectious disease, but from what I could tell, there was little attention paid to ensuring visitors had gowns or gloves. At our "care" conference, employees seemed unfamiliar with my relative's case and provided inaccurate and incomplete information. I would not recommend using Manor Pines.

I think a slide away curtain between beds in the rooms would be nice.

Manor Pines is close to where I live. It is a more of a nursing home which I think is what my aunt needed. It is very clean. Everybody is very nice, and the dining area is very nice. She is very happy there. I haven't eaten there, but everybody loves it. It is like a little restaurant, and they have two selections for each meal. The grounds are very nice and very clean. She is in a private room, and it is big. It backs up into a courtyard. She has like a private little entrance into the courtyard where they have a gazebo and tables and chairs where you can sit with your family. They have bingo, and they have religious things going on. They have sing-alongs and arts and crafts. The aides need to answer the call lights a little quicker, but other than that, it's good.

I visited this facility

Manor Pines is a decent geriatric healthcare and assisted living facility. In the 1980's I was employed at the facility and when I worked there it was a great place to work at. The employees treated the patients well and the patients appreciated the care that was given. Never did I think that in the future, the same place I worked at would be a place that my family would need to use. My 99-year-old grand mother is living in as an independent in the assisted living care of the facility. She has her faculties and her mind is sound so she doesn't need as much care as others at the facility. The staff at Manor Pines provides excellent and respectful care for my grandmother. The home allows her to function independently and autonomously while providing her with the things she needs to maintain her independence. Things like transportation, an outlet for socialization, medical attention and a safe and secure environment. Last month, when we visited grandmother, she was happy and told us about one of the new girls that was assigned to her. Although her helper wasn't family, grandmother said the woman treated her like family and that meant a lot to all of us.
