I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is in Willowwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare. They just called me and said that COVID is starting to get out there again. There are some really good employees there, and some that are very difficult to work with. They lose their clothes all the time. Their laundry room is kind of interesting. It's a metal building out back that looks like a moonshine kind of building.

My mom only stayed at this facility for 2 days and was neglected there. She pulled out her catheter and was left without any assistance for hours. I was called early morning and was informed about the accident. I was at facility within 30 minutes. My mom was lying in a bed in shredded diaper and no clothes, and staff knew I am on the way. I asked nurses to call 911 as my mom was loosing consciousness. It took them about 15 minutes to make a call. This place has more cockroaches than residents. Air conditioner is hardly worked and temperature in hallways was 85 degrees. The furniture in the room was broken and old, cloth divider was extremely dirty, with patches of old dried food. The food brought to my mom In those 2 days was all from cans and served on a plastic plate. If you have a choice, please stay away from Willow Woods

My mother was neglected at this facility. No one assisted her with basic hygiene. There was a time when she went 8 days in the same clothing. She was changed upon admission to the hospital. One visit there was a cockroach in her bed. I would encourage anyone looking here to find a different center to care for your loved one if at all possible.

They are extremely poor in answering the phone If you are lucky enough to get a live answer and need to message someone they may never deliver the message They do not check their phone mailbox; so when you try to leave a message, all you get is "the mailbox is full" There is a huge dead oak tree in the side yard; that is in a dangerous condition, it poses an extreme risk to life and limb, the county should investigate that! If it falls will crush the building and occupants.

Positive experience for post-hospital rehab for my mom. Therapists, staff, soc worker were excellent - kind, attentive, responsive to needs and requests. They were all highly professional, also went out of their way to show personal interest in her care. The facility (structure, furnishings) is in tremendous need of updating/repairs, but all I saw of it (covid restrictions applied) was clean and neat. The setting was secluded and quiet, grounds attractive, and someone actually kept all the bird feeders filled so residents could watch (little things matter when you're confined to bed or wheelchair all day).

This facility is absolutely horrible. They let my father handle coffee and suffer 2nd degree burns. He never received adequate care for the burns. They let him get septic and missed key vital signs to confirm sepsis. He passed away several days later.

My 96 year old, great grandmother lives in this facility, during your care, she has been exposed to COVID-19 and is said NOT to Recover.

I do not recommend this facility. Before making any decisions regarding a loved one residing in this facility, please visit the facility multiple times on different days and hours of the day, Including weekends when staffing is much lower. Some of the staff members are very kind and want to help but they are understaffed for the patient load and severity of needs. Minimal activities of interest to residents. On weekends it is common to see residents parked in the hallway with little interaction from staff. Senior administration is very slow to respond to concerns, if they respond at all. Very frustrating experience for my relative who lived here for an extended period of time.

We arrived at Willowwood with our Father who had just spent a week in the hospital for pneumonia. When we visited the facility they told us stuff that was not true. During the first 4 hours of his stay no one came by and did anything we had to try and get someone to come and help change his diaper. When the CM did help she removed the wet bed pad and put it back in the drawer like it was going to be used again. They did not have any of his medication and we begged the nurse to take his blood pressure and she said he was hypertensive and his meds should be there within 6 hours. It took them 1 hour to find a nebulizer and it looked 20 years old. It was broken and the wires were exposed. Needless to say we carried him home that night and they never offered to help put him in the car. They watched 2 women load a 180 pound man. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!!

I visited this facility

Willowwood is the one I want my mother to go to. That place is strange because it was older. I wouldn't say it is dirty, but it is older and almost like a rundown trailer park. Once I got inside, they had birds in this humongous bird cage. Nobody was in their rooms, and everybody was out like they were having races with the wheelchairs. It looked great because they were not just drugged and left in bed. I talked to a couple of people there, and they seemed extremely happy with that place. They did show me one room. They had just painted it, and it just became available. It was semi-private and was a decent size. I think all the rooms must look like that with two beds, two night stands, and two dressers. I didn't try the food, but the way they do it is like a buffet. They can go into the cafeteria and actually pick what they want which I like. The tables all have flowers and tablecloths on them. They can go and be able to socialize which is a lot better. I don't know how the food was, but the way they presented it, it seems great. They had a fish tank and a lot of them were sitting and watching the fish. It just seems very light and real airy. From what I saw, I would recommend it.

I visited this facility

Willowwood was very nice, very clean. They would be able to take mother, and we were happy with it. The people seemed to be having a good time in the activity room. The menu seemed like it was good food. They would help her with her daily activities.
