I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
The staff at Hendersonville Health & Rehabilitation showed very strong interest in taking care and providing services for my mom. We had a very pleasant experience. The grounds were good. The food was good, and they offered three meals a day.

I visited this facility
Please do not just leave a post hip fracture client in this facility without family supervision. The place is under staffed and the CNA help was lacking. I rarely saw one when I was there and I never saw the patient fed...NOT one time. She lost weight and acquired a stage 1 pressure ulcer because she could NOT speak for herself.

Our mother was here for 12+ years until her recent death @ age 103....we never considered relocating elsewhere. The staff in the building, especially the 500 hall, were dedicated, hardworking people. Mom was an easy, non-demanding resident; she was in very good health but was immobilized due to arthritis and a back injury. We volunteered here weekly and visited almost daily....translation, a lot of observation. Mom was always content, clean and comfortable. We cannot comment on the night staff, since our visitations were during the day when mom was most alert. We had only two criticisms. One was that despite repeated requests, we were never informed when the optometrist or podiatrist would be visiting the building. Mom was deaf and it would have been easier with our presence and we could get a firsthand report of the exam/treatment. The second problem was regarding her bed. Mom would 'escape' from a regular hospital bed trying to get to the bathroom. Needless to say, she fell a several times, once incurring a broken hip. The facility would temporarily switch her to a 'Hi-Lo' bed which lowered completely to the floor. After some patient advocacy intervention, mom was assigned a Hi-Lo bed permanently. And yes, there were some occasional oversights regarding water, buzzer and alarms.....the CNA workload is daunting. Reread our intro...in 12+ years we never reconsidered our placement of mom here. Overall, in all this time and with our constant presence, we felt that the facility treated our aged, frail mother with much "TLC" and respect.

I thought that the patients were not being watch liked they should have been. They were in the front desk, asking for help. And one lady was up at the front desk. She was trying to get out of her bed . The food is horrable, the patients i talk with saisd that it was allso terriable. To only get a bath 1x's a week is horrible. The place smells like urine alot. The staff are not friendly, one lady came in a was on some kind of drugs, she stumbled into the wall as she came in. This man was crying for help and it took sometime for him to be helped.
