We liked Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. We liked the open spaces and we liked the culture. The staff was just very pleasant and friendly. The whole place was very, very well cared for. Everything was meticulously clean and well kept up. It's top-of-the-line there. It's a huge campus and it's got everything you can imagine - multiple restaurants, a lot of cultural clubs, and lots of concerts.

Masonic Village at Elizabethtown was a very nice place. It's very large. It has a great deal of activities. It has buses that go around and pick people up. They visit different places for activities. I don't even know how many people are in there, but it's huge. You would get lost for a while, but other than that, it's a beautiful place. It's very well set up. It has some very old buildings there and the newer buildings they built were in the style of the old buildings to keep up with the whole ambiance of the place. The insides are beautiful. They have them very well put together. It's a very lovely place. My husband loved it, but it was just too far from where we live right now. It was about a 100-mile drive and our kids were not happy about that. The staff was very accommodating, very nice, and very friendly. We visited only the apartments.

We're still a year away from Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. As it turns out, they approached us with an option to buy into an apartment while we wait for a cottage, so we decided to go along with that. The ultimate decision was, that they have an incredible variety in their crafts to keep you busy. We're talking pottery, fused glass, woodworking, in addition to the normal sewing, clubs, that type of thing. Every day, they have up to four hours of some kind of craft. The other main thing was it was built over 100 years ago by the Masons, so the original meeting halls and grand ballrooms are over 100 years old and just built with the most incredible craftsmanship. That was a draw, but that certainly would not have been the sole reason. The number of crafts, to be honest, which is something that other places could certainly improve on, was the main reason for us choosing it. We toured the independent living. We did not tour the others, but we talked to people onsite who had nothing but great things to say about the place. It is fee-for-service continued care. We were very impressed with the food. They just had so much to offer, that is why we chose them.

My daughter and I visited the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown and we liked that a lot. It's extremely "Romanitian" and the maintenance is impeccable. They even had a little country store out there and they're in a rural area. They have everything from a single room to an actual cottage a couple can buy. They pretty much have it all and I've been to Mason for many years myself so they were my first thought, but the cost is extremely high. We're looking at $5,000 or $6,000; the entry fee alone is expensive. I did not meet a lot of staff, I just met the administrator, and she knew everything that I asked.

We went to Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. That's when we were anticipating an independent living for both of my parents, and that's why were looking at the rental apartments. It has a beautiful campus and lots of different levels of care. They were doing a good job of being self-contained. They have a doctor and people right on sight so you don't actually have to leave the campus. The buldings are older. We only looked at independent living and rental apartments. We were shown a couple of apartments, I think four apartments, varying in size. We saw a one-bedroom and two-bedroom. The ceilings were low, the rooms did not have a lot of light, and they were small and cramped. My mother was very disappointed with the size of the apartment as they were too small and dark, but the lady who showed us around was very nice. We did see some comon areas. They were spacious. They have transportation from one building to another provided for patients. We saw that happening; they were picking up people in wheelchairs, and that was kind of neat. We wanted a rental and we don't want to do a buy-in. Most of the rooms that they have down there are buy-ins. They do have limited activities, but they have activities.

Masonic Village at Elizabethtown was beautiful. They had everything to offer. The food was excellent. There were various stages of disability and others were very much like me. I saw homes that were perfectly ideally suited for me. They looked very nice and very adequate. I looked at the cottages, which were similar to villas with their own yard. They had everything; you couldn't ask for anything nicer. It had a campus-like atmosphere to the entire layout.
