Its been a while since my mother passed so I'm calm enough to give my feedback on my experience there. First off during our tour of the skilled rehab I wasn't told that my mom would be moved from room to room in her weak state, but it happened. Not once, but 3 times she was moved. I also didn't know my mom would be put in a behavior unit. There were several patients yelling out continuously and my mom couldn't sleep at night. I complained to the social worker who got back to me 2 days later. She spoke to me as if I was her kid which I didn't appreciate and nothing changed. I was basically told that's the way it is. My mom was sent to the hospital eventually for complications, but I'm sure the stress during her stay didn't help. Some of the staff were compassionate and actually cared for my mom while others especially at night did not. My mom said they were very rude to her at night. I forget that this is a business and the sales people said what they wanted to get us in the door.

I have been impressed by this facility, and especially by the compassion and professionalism of the staff. The nursing facility only has 30 beds, and the staff seem just a little more cheery, calm, and attentive than other places.. My mother-in-law has been in three other nursing or assisted living facilities - and the attendants are often so rushed/stressed/distracted that it is hard to trust that your residents needs won't fall through the cracks. In fact, in other places, our family member fell, waited excessively for assistance, or had other very distressing incidents. But here, it has been ok. It hasn't been perfect. My Mother-in-Law says that some attendants are rough when they are dressing her. She is also forever losing the clicker that calls for help -- that seems like a fixable problem?? But they are patient and forgiving of her foibles, and they have been encouraging of her rehabilitation and reentry to society. They are adapting their care for her as her needs change. I do believe that my Mother-in-Law has gotten the best care we could reasonably expect. And for that I am truly grateful.

My sister-in-law moved into Brighton Gardens of Edison. The place itself is very welcoming. I was very much impressed with it. Their grounds are lovely, the individual rooms are very nice. I was very much surprised; I thought all nursing homes would just have a bed in there, and you would go downstairs if you wanted to watch TV or anything. It's set up like a little hotel room. It's very nice and very clean. She's only been there two, maybe three weeks but the staff seem very accommodating. We're just very happy with that. Though she didn't want to leave her home, she keeps telling me how nice they are; this is good news to hear. Every time I've had to ask something, or question anyone, they were right there. So, right now they're still a five. I'm not saying they can't go down, but right now they are five. I didnt try the food, but I asked her, and she said it was very good. I have, read about them and what they're planning to do and whatnot. They're having an open trunk night, October 27, for Halloween. They're telling people to bring their grandkids and kids in general, and they have entertainment. They have trips and whatnots. They're all expensive as far as I'm concerned, but compared to the others, it's well worth paying for.

I toured Brighton Gardens of Edison for my parents. The community was good, but we were just not happy with it as they didn't have enough community group areas. They only had one, which was their lobby. There was no separation between the bedroom and the kitchen or living room area. The place looked fine. The person who gave the tour was very good. In fact, she had a service dog with her, which was very, very well trained. We met in the dining area, and it seemed to be very small. I liked the location. I needed to have some place that was close to my home that I could help them or be available to them. They were playing bingo in the lobby when we arrived. There was very little outside space. Brighton Gardens is good for one person, but not necessarily good for a husband-and-wife team because I think it's too small. The staff was very nice and very professional.

Brighton Gardens of Edison was nice. The staff who assisted me during the tour was fine. I got a sample of the menu, and it looks ok. The room that I was looking at seems a little bit smaller than some that I've seen. In terms of activities, they were having a little history thing, and that was fine. They showed us where they usually do a few things, but that was right in the open when we walked in. I didn't see any extra rooms to do activities in.

My mother is in Brighton Gardens of Edison for rehab. It seems to be well-organized, welcoming, and had a lot of activities provided for the people staying there in the assisted living part. I have a little problem with her prescriptions. My mom has a prescription program where we get it for three months and they told me I can bring those pills in, in blister packs, which I proceeded to do. But I also got a bill stating that they got the medications from the pharmacy that's connected to them. So I need to find out and see what the problem is and why was this done that way. Somehow I think it's a lack of communication. But on the other hand, I did what I was supposed to do, which was the blister pack, and handed it over to the people. Some of the people working there are really great and very caring. I've been told that my mom is eating their food well. There are activities, although my mom has chosen not to take part in. What I see there is stimulating them. They have exercises, bingo, and other things. The facilities are better than some of the places that I visited.

My mother is at Brighton Gardens of Edison. So far, it's been OK. We haven't been there that long, but from what I gathered talking to people, I have a better vibe of where she is at right now. They reach out, they call, and they keep me updated so for the most part it's been good. The staff has also been good so far and very informative.

We were not that impressed with Brighton Gardens of Edison. The person who showed us around was very nice enough to give us whatever information he had. The other staff members were also nice enough. I was just a little disappointed that even though we called, there was no one to take us around and give us more information on the pricing, etc. The room size was good enough, but the layout was not impressive at all. The shared room was a 1 out of 5 because there was one big bed on one side and one twin bed on one side, which didn't make any sense to us. We saw people playing cards and watching TV. The whole scenario didn't look any bad. It was pretty good, and they had tables around for sitting and for dining.
