Burcham Hills was a large facility. It was very active and beautiful. It almost looked like a country club as you walked into the main lobby, the dining room, and living room. There appeared to be lots of residents. The amenities were outstanding. There's a beautiful outdoor courtyard, a weight room, and a snack bar that's open in between meals in case the residents missed mealtime. Everything looked new and fresh and they've got a good mixture of ages. We looked at the menus and one of its selling points was that even if they don't like what is being served that day, they have a variety of other items that they can order, because everything was restaurant style. Olivia was wonderful on the phone, although when we decided to tour she was on vacation, we met with Samantha and she was also wonderful. When we stopped back in yesterday just to reaffirm a couple of items and get another booklet (as we lost one), she walked right out and said hello and remembered who we were from two weeks ago. She was very personable. We toured five or six facilities and Burcham Hills was by far, although one of the most expensive, had exactly what we were looking for which was a stimulating environment. Several of the other communities were too small and was not going to provide the stimulation/the therapeutic value that we were looking for.

I toured Burcham Hills for my parents. The place was clean, comfortable, and huge. Their facilities were top-notch, and the staff was really good. My parents wanted to be on the first floor, but this building was 3 stories. They're in a decent location except they're probably right in the middle of downtown East Lansing, so the rooms here would be overlooking either the back of a building or a parking lot. You can go from independent living to memory care. Families can visit anytime, 24/7. The family member can even stay there if they want to spend the night with their loved ones. We saw the menu and it looked good.

I visited my mother at Burcham Hills. They were very good. They were very professional. I don't have any complaints. They did the best they could with what they had. They get an A-plus. And this was the second time I had been to them, so they still get an A-plus. I like the whole facility atmosphere and setup. The staff did the best they could. They did well. The food was great. The rooms were great, too. The rooms were nice and private. I don't have any complaints about the rooms. There were activities there; we just did not participate in any because just of her situation. But they offered a lot of activities.

I moved into the new Stonebriar at Burcham Hills in October, 2021. Having planned from even before ground breaking to make this my rest-of-life home, I am very pleased that Stonebriar is meeting my expectations. My apartment is spacious, bright, and complete with full kitchen and washer/dryer. The staff is caring and responds to individual needs. The food is good especially in the restaurant-style Bistro. I have sampled many activities provided and am self-initiating a stitchery group. I am happy to have my dog with me. She meets the requirements of vacinations, license, and Good Citizenhip Certificate.

This is the only facility in which I have ever had contact where the residents and even employees rave about the food. The choices are many and varied with lots of vegetables. Residents who look forward to an excellent meal are happier and stay healthy longer.

We are initial residents of StoneBriar, a new independent-living apartment building connected to the venerable Burcham Hills facility. Earlier generations of both of our families resided happily on the Burcham Hills campus. As first residents, we were able to design (and pay for) improvements in our apartment that have contributed to our comfort. In these first few months we remain pleased with the services and facilities available at StoneBriar. The staff is excellent: uniformly friendly, helpful and kind.
