My grandmother needed to go for respite care at this facility due to a family emergency. My grandmother is one of the most precious people in my life and they took care of her as if she were their grandmother. They couldn't have been nicer. The care was incredible. Her skin looked fantastic, she was always well groomed and they walked her daily. She hasn't stopped talking about Highgate and the tremendous staff. Paula the ED, Ed, the DNS, the nursing assistants: Yverose, Marie, Diane, Gerly, Dawn and Kathy. The Nurses: Denise, Yvon, Christine, Brendan, Lisa, and Bianca. I want to thank Highgate for the all that they did for her. They are the best.

Bad place. My mother was there. One night the lady in the next bed died. A bunch of medical personnel came in and they put her in a body bag and wheeled her out right in front of my mother. They could have closed the curtain so my mother wouldn't see but they didn't. My mother was crying and asking what was wrong and no one would even console or talk to her. One day I brought her some cough drops and the social worker told me she couldn't have anything from the outside. She said they would supply all meds even cough drops and that all meds have to be approved and accounted for. I said I find that interesting considering my mothers night table still had prescription medication from the woman that died before my mother took that bed two months ago. When my mother died they called me and told me to come and pick up her personal things. When I got there they couldn't find them. After much searching they found a trash bag with her name on it in a 'shower'. Couldn't believe that. But the worst was when I got home and opened the bag and not only were my mothers things in it but so were the womans that had died before my mother was admitted. Not a good place. Don't put anyone you love in that place.

My uncle is a resident at this facility and he is very well cared for, treated with great respect and dignity, and his needs are met as we expect. The facility is very clean, pretty, and well maintained. My uncle often comments about how comfortable he feels and says that he needs nothing - all his needs are met. The staff are absolutely wonderful to work with and go above and beyond in addressing any concerns or questions that we have. I am relieved that our uncle is in such a caring facility.

I visited this facility
Highgate Manor offers skilled nursing and rehab. I was there recently and have had patients there. It's in Dedham, in an industrial area right off the highway, which allows for easy access by car. But there's not much else near by in the way of shops or restaurants. It's a very urban setting. It's a 2-story brick structure, surrounded by parking lots and not much green space to speak of. I've been impressed with the rehab staff, in particular. I think they're on site 7 days a week; they're very available. And they have good rehab aparatus on site. The food is okay--nothing to write home about. And the activities are okay, pretty basic. I see lots of folks in their rooms during my visits.
