Highland Springs was very nice. Unfortunately, it was way too far from our home, but they had everything there. They had a post office, a pharmacy, doctors, and a little clinic. They also had a gym, several restaurants, a salon, and just everything. The staff were all good.

Excellent high end place to go for retired persons. Excellent place to find plenty of activities like gardening, puzzle table, salon, banking, exercise, pool, treasure chest (like a small garage sale with profits going towards helping people stay in the facility), memory care, on site rehab, chef created meals, movies, concerts, etc. It is a bit over-priced considering there are other residential care communities in the Dallas area that look nice but cost less. My problem was with Fountain View, the memory care unit. We had to constantly get after the staff to change linens, bathe, change clothes, wash hair of my mother when she was in there. They also charge way too much for the transition from an apartment to living in Fountain View. Another problem is once you either move out or pass away, it takes an extraordinarily long time to get the hefty deposit back. They also put in the paperwork that they can charge you for up to 90 days for rent after you move out. Considering there is an extensive waiting list to get in, they took their time to rent the apartment back out and to release the refund deposit. All in, most of the staff, facilities, activities and other retirees are above par, but if you are looking for something more economical and straightforward, this is not it.

Highland Springs was a beautiful and very elegant place. They have a lot there. They do more than just independent living. They have a place where people were confined to beds. They do rehab, and they have a nursing home. It's a big place. It's very organized. When you walk in the front door of the facility, it's like walking into a very expensive hotel. They have good customer service. They make it convenient for the seniors. They have four or five buildings. They have their own kitchen. You get first class service when it comes to your meals. You get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have professional people that fix your food, and the food is great. The only thing you have to do is just walk in and sit down. They serve you food. They have a place for people who want to play chess or checkers and for people who want to exercise. They have an extremely large parking lot. If you need somebody to come to the facility, they have home healthcare come in and out all day long. It's for those who need minimal help. I just went to the main building, and they have excellent service. I just couldn't afford to stay here. They have very good security.

I visited Highland Springs two years ago. It's a beautiful place. They need to improve their accommodations. To be eligible for assisted living, they were only transferring people if you rented the independent living first and then were transferred later to assisted living. At that time, my husband needed assisted living upfront, not independent living, and they were not accommodating to those kinds of needs. They had their rules and they were very strict with them. The food was cafeteria-style, and it was fine, it was more like a grill-type thing for lunch which is fine. It's gorgeous, they had everything like the other places I went to. They had a beautiful place, but they were not accommodating to tenants. It's very convenient. It was close to Baylor and White Medical and Plano Presbyterian Hospital.

We're moving into Highland Springs. I toured it eight times. We chose it for the amenities, the doctor care, the apartments and the location. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented. I've tried the food several times, excellent, but also very healthy. Everything is topnotch and clean. They continually make sure that people wear a mask and follow the prescribed health rules.

We were very impressed with Highland Springs. One of the most important things was that they have a dog park. They also have a variety of room layouts available. We saw several different dining areas with very appealing menus. The workers were very friendly.
