I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was only here for several hours. The staff did not pass along the cellphone we left for her. She advocated for herself and called us from a landline. She was freaked out and wanted to go immediately. She said it was super dirty, mildew smelling and the discharge person from Stanford hospital should no longer send anyone here. She said the food was stale cheap and not nutritious

My mother was brought to the facility only to receive antibiotics for 7 days. After my mom got all the antibiotics she needed, they kept her saying that she wasn't eating enough. Anytime my family or I tried to call the facility to talk to our mother, we could not get through. They said they were under staffed and there was no receptionist there on the weekends. They never returned calls, and only called when there was a problem with our mother. When I tried to get our mother out of there, they refused because they said our mother was to weak. To say the least, they basically starved our mother. In reality, they were keeping our mother so that they could collect the money from our mother's insurance. Our mother was only suppose to be at that place for 6 days. On December 26, 2020 they gave our mother two Covid-19 test, one was the rapid test. On December 29, 2020, someone from the facility called me, and said that the results from the Covid-19 test came back negative. Three month and five days after our mother arrived at the facility, our mother died in that facility! Then they had the nerve to say she died of Covid-19! If you really LOVE your loved ones, do not allow them to be admitted there! They are liars and terrible!

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My sister went to assisted living, but the doctor said she needed more help. She was sent to Cupertino Healthcare, which is more of rehab and physical therapy, and there are a lot of different ages. The environment is different -- a lot in the 40s, even 30s and 20s. My sister is on the young side, so it also boosted my sister's confidence. She had to share a room with another patient, and there's not too much privacy, but it's very clean. The staff is very efficient and very friendly, and her progress is really good there. It's very close to a park, and it's more like a residential. It has a lot of open space, and it's more cheerful than other nursing places. They should improve on the quality of the food though. She has been there close to a month now.

I am a friend or relative of resident

On 10/8/13 my mother was to have an upper GI to be preformed at El Camino Hospital in Mt. View at one of the adjacent clinics. I spoke to my mother while in route at 12:36 pm. The Wellness center provided the driver with the incorrect address so there was a small delay with her timely arrival. At 5:32pm I received a phone call from a receptionist from the Wellness center asking me if I knew where my mother was. She proceeded to tell me the cant find her, that the driver went to pick up my mother from El Camino and the first time was told she was not ready they would call for pick up. That no call was received so the driver went back again a little later and the clinic was closed and know one would assist him and my mother was not answering her cell phone. So after the Wellness center was notified and also could not locate my mother they called me to ask her whereabouts. I live more then an hour way and she was in their care. I demanded to speak to a supervisor after being on hold for about 3-4 min i kept on the line but called from another phone and after I identified myself and what I wanted I was put on hold then..hung up on. Still on hold on the original call after about 3 more minutes someone unidentified came to the phone and said the supervisor was busy with an emergancy and could they call me back. I replied that not knowing where my mother was who is very ill, cant walk more then few feet without becoming winded and was put under anesthesia today is located is an emergancy. Since no one knows where she is I a calling the police and hung up. I tried to call my mother and one of my sisters several times before calling the Mt. View police when I got no answer I called the police to make a report. At 5:59 pm i got a voicemail from stating they found my mother I immediately returned her call she said that my mother was in recovery at El Camino Hospital in the main hospital because it was time for the clinic to close and my mother was not able to leave at that time. I advised thank you for the call but i was going to file a complaint and hung up (still no supervisor). Then at 6:08pm my phone rings and the director of nursing calls states to say that they my moms in recovery and the will get her when she is ready. I advised I am already aware but m still filing a complaint, she tries to continue to explain this away but i advise shes wasting her time the fact is you did not know the whereabouts of a patient. I also advised that my mothers should not be mistreated because of this and if so i would be filing charges and hung up. At 8:38 pm a staff member called to tell me that my mother was back at the wellness center. In a time where a patient came up missing and found dead at SF general you misplace a patient this is unacceptable and now they are requesting my mother "talk" to me because they are aware of my complaint. This is a hospital you work with regularly there should be regular procedures set to avoid this type of situation. I want to be contacted by the investigator and receive a copy of the complaint findings.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandmother has been living here for over 8 years now. She is almost 90 years old and I visit often so I do notice the quality of living here. The staff for the most part are very friendly and helpful. They smile when I enter and promptly help me when I'm looking for extra bed sheets, towels, or something else. The facility is also very clean, will clearly labeled signs at every hall and on every door. My grandmother is diabetic and also has high cholesterol, so her meals have special requests and specific instructions. She is to never receive juice with her meals; only hot water. She also needs to have her food blended so it is easier to chew and digest. There are many more specific meal requests we put in for her. Throughout the past decade, they have for the most part followed these guidelines very well, which is amazing. The facilities are good here as well. There is a fitness room with age-appropriate equipment. There is also a common room where daily activities are held, such as bingo or movie night. There's also a piano in this room, which sometimes prompts performers to come and play various songs for everyone. Overall, this place has a friendly and caring atmosphere and an effort is made to fill everyone's day with fun and a positive living experience.

I visited this facility

Although the staff is friendly and the food is plentiful and served often enough, I am concerned about the level of care residents recieve in this facility. My grandfather often would go unwashed for days and more than once I've seen him wearing the same leisure clothes he was dressed in the day before. I myself clipped his toenails after realizing the staff had let them grow for months without doing anything. The rooms are clean, but very dark, and the facility is quiet for a nursing home.

I visited this facility

This facility is really nice and enjoyable. Grandfather stayed there for roughly 4-5 months. Always said good things about the caretakers. Plenty of activities for the people staying there as well. They were also very proactive when things got bad so we could get him the proper medical care. Overall I have nothing but good things to say!
