I am/was a resident of this facility

The single person rooms are nice.the 3 people rooms which I am not yet in must be nerve wracking.no bedside speakers or headphones like in a hospital.3 t.v.'s all on different channels, each person trying to hear theirs over their roomate.or trying to sleep with their t.v. off but roommates blasting.thats chaos.some restrooms in the rooms w/o handicap rails.some staff acting like you are a nuisance if you ask a question or for help.today is my 7th day and my 2nd day,my birtday, they forgot my dinner and when I complained they acted like I was annoying them and gave me 2 sanwiches(happy 55th bday)day 3 got no lunch.that helps recovery from surgery, hip replacement right?,not a meal has gone by in 7 days that 3to5 items were not on the trays.coffee, milk, juice, buscuit, mashed potatoes, salt, pepper, tartar sauce for the fish, tonight my dinner was short 5 out of 12 items on the list given with the meal including salad and dressing.coffee and buscuit, but they are collecting payment for it,I have daily went to staff, social worker and office staff to no avail.today I got ahold of kitchen supervisor who said he ran out of busiuts, knows nothing about the decaf coffee but would send me up a salad and dressing at 5:30 p.m,8pm still waiting.wont happen.they don't care.this not happening to only me.how much money are they weaseling out of all the food residents do not get.and I addressed it to the social worker patty, the other day.no help there.the dietitian as well.no change.IMAGINE THAT.my brother is going to bring me bread, meat and cheese(we have a fridge and microwave on each floor)and some ramen noodles and cheese and peanut snack crackers.the surgeon prescribed painkillers medicine for every 6 hours.some times they bring it,sometimes they dont and look at me crazy if I ask or say later as they are right there at the nurses station with the meds.and I will unmask if my pain goes over a 3 because it is oxycodone.i am allowed 1or2 5mg as I request per surgeons orders from RUSH hospital.i will admit that the cooked food when you get is very tasty, the biscuits awesome(seem home made)but for 5,300 a month for single person room and 4,700 a month for multiple person room the least they can do is use the checklist that comes with each meal before it leaves the kitchen right,we are human after all.but once you get that tray, whatever is not there, you wont get it.they want you to lay down and accept it.my next step is to call a news station to report this type of neglect or misuse treatment.let someone work any other job half assed and they get fired.if they don't like their job, lots of people don't but you must do it correct?or go work elswhere

I am/was a resident of this facility

The place was OK. The staff was nice, and under the circumstances, I have to give them a lot of credit, as when I left there (transferred to another facility), there was NO RUNNING WATER!!!! Well, the water was running, but due to Legionnaire's Disease being detected in it, you were advised to not use the water for more than 10 seconds. Warm bottled water was passed out sporadically. NO SHOWERS. Yes, you read that correctly - NO SHOWERS. By the time I left, there was still no water. That would have made 19 DAYS as of August 11th. It's now 3 weeks later and I don't know if the problem has been solved, but I what I do know is that I AM NOT there anymore! Thank goodness!

I am a friend or relative of resident

My sister is a resident of Chalet, and I am a health care researcher whose studies have examined quality of care in nursing homes. I know only too well the problems that characterize much nursing home care in this country. Chalet has proved to be the exception to the rule. For starters, it is clean and well maintained. It passes what others have called the "sniff rule." It features a variety of public spaces that my sister enjoys regularly--a library/computer room, TV/dining room, activities room, and, importantly for my sister, a patio for smokers. Best of all, the staff are responsive. Here it's the little things that can make a big difference. When I asked that a podiatrist assess a foot problem my sister was experiencing, the social worker scheduled the appointment promptly. When we asked for help maintaining my sister's nails, the staff arranged for a manicure. When we told the staff my sister would be leaving for a week-long vacation with me, a nurse prepared all her medications so that I could manage them easily. Yes, some meals could be tastier and it would be better if my sister could have a single room. But my sister is generally satisfied with her meal choices and precious few nursing homes offer single rooms, and those at a hefty price. My sister tried two other nursing homes before she moved into Chalet. This third home has definitely been the charm.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am presently living in a skilled nursing now called Chalet Living and Rehab Center. I've been here for a year and I would definitely recommend this place. The staff is really nice. They have a lot of activities. They have computers for their patients and they updated their physical therapy room. Just went you come in, everyone is really nice around here. The social worker too is really nice. The rooms are really, really spacious. Each room has a TV. The place is very well maintained and you really can't smell any odor here.
