Our 92yo Mom stayed here nearly 3 weeks, dimentia\delerium\UTI, touch of pneumonia, couldn't walk, huge fall risk, etc. I was there nearly everyday for 3 weeks & witnessed 1st-hand how hard these people work, very caring, skilled, professional, compassionate caregiver professionals here. Our Mom had great PT\OT, wound care & nursing care here. I feel part of the reason she got such great care was because one of us was there EVERY DAY, ensuring, pushing, a few times having to politely demand, that certain things get done. Everyone here is overburdened with patient load & safety policies. If you are considering staying here, pls note that IMHO this is true anywhere you go. But I witnessed on a daily basis for 3 weeks how hard these people work & they are angels & compassionate people. When choosing, find the best place closest\shortest drive for you\visitors, and HELP\assist the staff in your LO's care. Seek out the many homey seating areas in this (or any) facility & have your visits there, getting the LO out of their room where they spend a lot of time. This place has an outdoor garden courtyard area & nearly missed, also Mom was calmer when taken away/out of site of other residents, whom she feared due to dimentia. Also food was good!

Not enough rehab given to the patient. LNA’s kept wheelchair my mil into the bathroom after time and time I kept telling them she needed to walk. Wrong medication given to the patient for her b/p.

The rehab team is excellent. The aids and the nurses are always coming in and checking on me to see how I am and if I need anything. The whole facility is amazing. There is a liaison that comes around to check on all me multiple times a week to see if there is anything I need or anything she can do for me on top of the regular staff. This is not my first time here and I would continue to choose it in the future if needed.

I was there visiting a friend in rehab and i was so discussed how she was treated !! she didn't get 3 meals there , they never came in to ask if she wanted anything to eat , they would just bring something on a plate when ever they felt like it ..sometimes they would just bring her the worst food i have ever seen!!! The room is old and smells and the bathroom was sooooo dirty !!!!!! I can't believe people would put their loved ones in here ...the staff is lazy just sitting there on their phones and feet up on the desk!!! and couldn't give a crap about my friend :( this place is a disgrace ... Really needs to be inspected ... I feel for these people that are depending on help . please send board of health .

My 89 year old father was admitted to Palm Center with a head wound from a surgical procedure. He would have bled to death, alone and calling for help, had he not gotten himself out of bed and down the hall--with a walker and in extremely frail condition--to the nurses' station where they finally called 911.

My Mom went to Palm Center a few days ago. She raves about the food, its fresh and its good. Rehab has a good program for her needs. Nurses are all very nice. But like every other Nursing home they seem to be understaffed for answering lights. She has phemonia, and tonight when I went in to see her. There she was when I walked in the door at 90 plus years old. Her finger pushing the nurse button franticly, pointing to her throat. Not a sole around. I went to the nurses station to be greeted by a grumpy person who asked an aide to check on my Mom. Yes its just phemonia just breaking up and gets caught in her throat, however to be in panic at that age and to have no one answer your call light. and not be able to get up and go for help is horrible. Tonight I am beside myself as to what to do about this issue. I will be calling a couple times tonight just to check up. As a facility as far as the appearance goes , as far as professional staff, friendly people I "would" give a 5 star. But not being able to watch over people better having breathing issues and choking issues is a huge issue to me. I would have to give that portion just a "no" star as someone could be in terrible distress and possible have heart failure or choke to death while ringing the light like they are told to do. And unfortunately I think all nursing homes are the same. I think they ship you out of the hospital to a rehab Way TOO Soon. For safety reasons, I would not rate it with any stars, but since I have to choose one. I'll give it a one. These places get tons of money off the insurance companies and very large co-pays or deductibles and can well afford to hire enough help to watch over special needs patients. I am very disappointed in the way nursing homes operate. Like I said, I would give it a 5 star if it wasn't for special needs patients not be watched enough, and lights not being answered and a poor old women that cant breath being "unintentionally" ignored.
