My Grandma was placed at Peak Resources about a year ago. Things seemed fairly ok because we visited as much as we could. We would bring her snacks, drinks, clothes, etc. every time we visited. Her clothes were often taken to be washed and never returned. On numerous occasions we would have to dig through crates looking for my Grandma's clothes. Then, her drinks that we would bring would get missing. One of the nurses finally told us not to bring any more because the nurses would drink them. We often called throughout the week to also check on her. It was the beginning of October when I called and they said Grandma's roommate had to be moved out because she had tested positive for Covid. My first question was, "Have you called my mom?" They hadn't. I was told that they were going to have her tested first before they call her. Fast forward five days later, they called my mom and told her they had called the ambulance for Grandma. When she arrived at the hospital they said she was severely dehydrated. This meant that Grandma hadn't been given water or anything to eat or drink for days. Every time we called they would always say, "She's fine. She's just sleeping". Our Grandma, 97 years old, passed away on October 26 from Covid Pneumonia. After some investigating of my own, I found out the facility was taking Covid patients for $20,000 per person. We were never notified that this was happening. The owner put my 97 year old grandma at risk and we lost her because of his poor decisions. I was told by a nurse that resigned that the workers even had Covid and was still coming to work because the head nurse told them they had to. From September til now, they have lost 15 residents to Covid. This could have and should have been prevented. No one contacted us to say they were allowing Covid patients into the facility. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. We are left heartbroken and full of regret.

The facility gave unnecessary medications to a family member per state investigation. He was there 10 days. He could walk and talk, laugh, play cards and eat. Went to facility so he could become stronger walker and more steady on his feet. 10 days at the facility. Lost 22 lbs, dehydrated, huge infection in arm, bruises all over body to include goose egg on head, did not wake up when given a reversal Ativan shot. Taken to er. He died one month from being placed in that facility.

My father in law was at Peak Resources (Pinelake) a couple of weeks ago. The staff was great and he really enjoyed the activities that they provide. It was a wonderful experience for both my father in law and the rest of the family.
