I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My Grandma was placed at Peak Resources about a year ago. Things seemed fairly ok because we visited as much as we could. We would bring her snacks, drinks, clothes, etc. every time we visited. Her clothes were often taken to be washed and never returned. On numerous occasions we would have to dig through crates looking for my Grandma's clothes. Then, her drinks that we would bring would get missing. One of the nurses finally told us not to bring any more because the nurses would drink them. We often called throughout the week to also check on her. It was the beginning of October when I called and they said Grandma's roommate had to be moved out because she had tested positive for Covid. My first question was, "Have you called my mom?" They hadn't. I was told that they were going to have her tested first before they call her. Fast forward five days later, they called my mom and told her they had called the ambulance for Grandma. When she arrived at the hospital they said she was severely dehydrated. This meant that Grandma hadn't been given water or anything to eat or drink for days. Every time we called they would always say, "She's fine. She's just sleeping". Our Grandma, 97 years old, passed away on October 26 from Covid Pneumonia. After some investigating of my own, I found out the facility was taking Covid patients for $20,000 per person. We were never notified that this was happening. The owner put my 97 year old grandma at risk and we lost her because of his poor decisions. I was told by a nurse that resigned that the workers even had Covid and was still coming to work because the head nurse told them they had to. From September til now, they have lost 15 residents to Covid. This could have and should have been prevented. No one contacted us to say they were allowing Covid patients into the facility. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. We are left heartbroken and full of regret.

The facility gave unnecessary medications to a family member per state investigation. He was there 10 days. He could walk and talk, laugh, play cards and eat. Went to facility so he could become stronger walker and more steady on his feet. 10 days at the facility. Lost 22 lbs, dehydrated, huge infection in arm, bruises all over body to include goose egg on head, did not wake up when given a reversal Ativan shot. Taken to er. He died one month from being placed in that facility.

My father in law was at Peak Resources (Pinelake) a couple of weeks ago. The staff was great and he really enjoyed the activities that they provide. It was a wonderful experience for both my father in law and the rest of the family.

This facility took great care of my uncle. He had serious medical issues. The nursing staff was wonderful to him. Their compassion and attention to detail was so appreciative. He loved the food. The entire staff was so supportive to my family . If we had any questions at all, the staff took tome to listen to our questions and help us find the answers we needed.

Twice now my Mother has stayed at Peak Resources -Pinelake. Months ago she broke her hip and after surgery did rehab at Pinelake. Her experience was so positive that when she again was in need of therapy, we again chose Pinelake. The staff are so helpful to both residents and family members. They have been more than accommodating during this time. I would recommend Peak Resources to anyone.

I visited this facility

My father was allowed to lay in his bed with soiled clothing for almost an hour, when the aide finally arrived she scolded him for not calling for help even though he did ring the help button. The room was dirty and the toilet was not for a handicapped person. The nursing director Rocky was more concerned with her personal calls on her cell phone than with the patients' care. She did not attempt to correct any of the neglect that was brought to her attention and did not show any concern towards the safety of the patients. The social worker was very attentive and sincere with her efforts to help but we finally had our father removed. I pray for the patients that are there now.

Very unhappy with management and staff. Only a handful of employees are sincere and caring. Elderly resident not cared for properly. Has had many health complications due to improper care. Many falls, numerous infections and constantly dehydrated which causes unclear thinking and hallucinations. Very disappointed with entire facility. Staff is uninformed or dosen't care about residents and appear to have a problem with communication. Entire staff should work as a team!!!

Pinelake was very sanitary and my father-in-law lived there. The manager of physical was very vague and he wasn’t giving him extra care. The staff, nurses, and the interns were very kind and helpful but I was not happy with the administrative staff. I could not recommend the place based on the behavior of the administrative staff.

Mom has been at PineLake's memory care unit for 2 years now. The most important things to me are that she is treated with kindness and respect, and kept clean and comfortable. Also, it is important that someone notices when she is not quite right (e.g. has a UTI, is less alert than usual, etc.) Most of Pine Lake's staff is caring, and I don't really worry too much. I do visit 2 oe 3 times a week, at different times during the day or evening, and have never had any concerns. The facility is a little bit older, but it is maintained fairly well. We have a been in a few others in the area and like this one the best. It is not the newest or fanciest, but I like the staff and the feeling of 'family'. It is also a bit less expensive than the others. If it was the same price I would still prefer this one to the others. There are always things that could be better, but overall we've been happy. Mom says she loves it.

Dingy, dark rooms in need of paint and maintenance. Decent size TV. Shared bathroom is unusable for handicapped resident. Noisy hallways, and under-staffed but friendly care givers. Meals are good. Several residents smelled as if a bath was overdue.

My elderly brother for whom I was caretaking...was a resident there during his final months until his death...We could not have asked for better care or a cleaner place. Aides and other servers gave sympathic individual care and met any requests. We recommend it to our friends as an excellent provider...When my brother was in his final days, they were as attentive as a good family and even sent a boutiful flower to the funeral.
