Covenant Living at Windsor Park was very expensive, but you get a lot in return. You have a lot of security. I thought it was nice. So, it's more a question of do we want to do this or not? Also, they are a long way. I live in California and moving back to the Midwest where I have family sounds nice and it's still a big decision, but it wasn't anything against that. If you have the money and want to do that, I think Covenant Living at Windsor Park was a nice facility. I talked to several of the residents who really liked being there. Believe it or not, they have five fishing ponds on the property. I hate fishing, but there you are. They've expanded and they've got a wonderful library and a lot of activities. If this is an example of any Covenant Living chain and there are a number, I was very impressed. The facilities and the management were nice. The residents were very positive. It's one of those places where you pay a high entrance fee, and a fairly high monthly maintenance, and then what happens over time is the monthly maintenance can go up 4% or 5% a year, but you and a spouse or just you alone can move in and those monthly maintenances go up a little bit, but you're guaranteed that you will never pay more than that. There are some extras, so it depends on the rest of your life. They had really lovely grounds. Janet showed us around and she was nice. If that's what people are interested in as a continuing care retirement community, from what my brother and I spent about an hour there, it was wonderful. They have a lot of different meals and a lot of different meal plans. So, I would recommend it. They have independent living apartments with different ranges of cost. There's one bedroom, a studio, and two or three bedrooms. When you need assisted living, you get the same facilities and maybe in a slightly different building which you can move into. Then when you have to go into a nursing home or skilled home, they also have those facilities on the grounds. That's what a continuing care retirement community is. Janet showed us two different types of two-bedroom, two baths in the independent living. One larger and smaller. They were very pleasant and very nice. They had patios. It's very clean with quite a lot of recent stuff. In assisted living, you have a choice and you pay more depending on it. They had smaller apartments, but very nice. In the nursing home, you look for things like the smell, and it doesn't smell. It was very pleasant. They have a lot of activities. They have a newsletter, a lovely library with 10,000 books, and lots of walking areas within the grounds. They have varying menus that they show you. There was a Starbucks there, believe it or not, where you could sit and have coffee and you could use your vouchers there. They have a lot of activities. They go into Chicago. It's about 40 miles out of the city of Chicago. They have a lot of planned trips.

I am a resident of Covenant Living at Windsor Park. Overall experience is very good, it's outstanding. The best thing is the sociability and the availability of everything that a senior might need, along with the lifetime guarantee of whether you run out of money or not. The staff are outstanding, they are always available. The food is outstanding, it's a good selection and they have all kinds of choices with great service. Everything is done for you. The buildings and the grounds are always spectacular. They're kept up very well. They replaced carpets more often than I think is necessary. The grounds are perfect. I can't see any complaints, and I was skeptical when I first came here. They have a gift shop, an activities room, and a sports area. They have two restaurants and five lakes. They have access to a golf course and swimming pools; they are not on-site but they're very close. They have activities every day, so many activities that it's put on an app on your phone, and there are at least ten activities every day. There is no comparison with others, as far as I know, because people in my family have stayed in other places. For food, you can go to the cafeteria or the restaurant, you can have it delivered to your room, or you can go and pick it up. It's quite inclusive. It's a lot of money, but you get a good value for it.

Covenant Living at Windsor Park is a large place. When you go in, there are people around who are engaged in activities. They seemed to be fully engaged with what was going on there. The apartment I saw did not have a patio or a balcony. I was also not fond of the apartment layout. It didn't seem to be as airy as some of the others. They have lots and lots of activities. My full impression was that people were engaged in everything. I went over there at one point (it was around Christmas), and they had a huge tree in the middle of an extremely large lobby. And then they had a train going around the tree that the residents had put up, and it was just delightful. The residents that I talked to were so pleased to be there. I didn't encounter people who were negative about things at all. They have different areas that are specific to the activities that they have. However, in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and physical condition, more areas needed a little bit more care. But they had so many people, so big and so much going on, and it was more institutional.

My MIL had hip surgery and was sent here for rehabilitation to gain strength. When her first surgery failed she was readmitted here to recover from an infection and then was to return to the hospital for the hip surgery. My MIL CANNOT WALK SHE HAS NO HIP and some PT wrote on her chart because she could feed herself and dress herself she could go home, and THEY did send her home. She is in a wheel chair, cannot take more than 3 steps, yet some PT deemed her cleared to leave, wrote the report to Medicare and Medicare said they would no longer pay. A bunch of very unskilled and unprofessional people here from the Administration (who only care about who they will fill the room with next so the money keeps coming in) to the UNTRAINED medical staff. Stay clear of this place as I am so TERRIFED that my MIL will fall at home because of this and SERIOUSLY injure herself. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE.

I liked Covenant Living at Windsor Park. They have laundry facilities located in each apartment. The appliances are newer compared to the other places I went to. It was a very lovely tour. The people and the place were first-rate. The activities were active. Every day, their calendar was filled. There was a room for people to exercise in, and the dining area was lovely. There was a room for creative arts, and they had a lovely library. There was also a garden for the residents to take care of their plants. If you're in a wheelchair, it's easy to get in and out of their doors. The staff who gave me the tour was very kind, and me and my daughters enjoyed seeing everything. We saw the menu and they had choices for residents with specific dietary needs. It catered to everyone.

The Covenant Living at Windsor Park is very welcoming. They have wonderful pathways for people to walk and be one with nature. The people are very warm and friendly. Their amenities are numerous. They have an exercise area and a lot of programs that are available to their residents. What's helpful is the fact that they have washers and dryers in each of their units. They have a lot of natural space for each unit. They have patios or balconies for each unit. It was the most economical of all the facilities that I visited.
