I was recently discharged from this facility. As a patient, I would say that the care and treatment I received for the four weeks I was there was exceptional! As with any company, there were a few staff members who needed attitude adjustments, but, overall I found the staff to be caring and helpful. The physical and occupational therapists are outstanding! I found the staff, as a whole, willing to listen to my concerns and address them in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this facility for rehabilitation!

I have been here almost 2 weeks and for the most part I have truly been taken care of. I find the nursing staff and the aides attentive, helpful, competent and inn general a pleasure to interact with. I find that what comes around goes around and my having a sense of humor amidst the pain of recovery process has gone a long way in establishing positive connections with the staff. I also have found that expressing gratitude to the staff (for all their ongoing attempts to make you more comfortable) is deeply appreciated. Occupational Therapy and Physical have been outstanding! I have had many joint replacements over the past 13 years and the treatments I have received here is number one on my list of rehab facilities. While the whole surgery and recovery process has been very stressful, I know my healing process has been totally supported by the facility and for that, I am deeply grateful.

My mother had a stroke and was being discharged to rehab. My sister and I toured the facility with an administrator who looked us in the eye and lied to us about policy. We were interested in open door and she assured us it was but it wasn’t. Our mom was walking with assistance when we got there and 6 days later when we got her out of there she could barely stand. Every nurse or CNA that came in the room said they were from an agency and couldn’t answer any questions about anything. They can’t keep staff so they contract out to an agency and you don’t have continuity because of it. More times than not they started every conversation with “by law, we are required or “by law we can’t”. It makes you wonder how many times they have been sued that they feel it necessary to cite the law in every conversation. Most of the people coming in to care for her had no idea why she was there or what her limitations were. She was completely paralyzed on her right side and couldn’t swallow regular liquids. Pills were to be given in applesauce yet daily we had to tell them or they wouldn’t have known because they don’t read the chart before coming into the room. There was never a warm meal and honestly my 3 year old granddaughter eats more at a sitting than they feed their residents. We even had CNAs refuse to help us get her on the commode because of a “bad back” so they couldn’t lift. This place is a nightmare, the Monday to Friday nurse manager spent more time smoking in the courtyard than nursing. Meanwhile the patients are neglected by uncaring and unfeeling staff. The day we transferred mom out the owners were there putting in diffuser machines trying to cover the overwhelming smell of urine that permeates each wing.

This place is a nightmare for elders. My grandfather was brought to Burlington Woods after he had fallen out of bed and needed physical therapy following his stay at the hospital. We visited him everyday, and we were consistently met by rude and clueless staff. After having him there for about a week, he had to return to the hospital after his condition had drastically changed. He entered this place being able to speak, eat, and be aware of his surroundings. He left this place disoriented, unable to chew or swallow, and unable to speak. His roommate claimed that one night he had called for help for hours, and no one ever came to check on him. The staff seemed completely unaware of his condition, proving this place is understaffed not only in terms of numbers, but also in terms of competency. We quickly brought him back to the hospital where they discovered bed sores and a list of other problems. He died within a few days, despite the hospital's efforts to save him. If you want your loved ones to receive care, don't bring them here. They might not survive it.

If housing your loved one in a barn is okay with you, then Burlington Woods is the place for you! Your loved one will be treated maybe one step above stray pets at the animal shelter. The administration has no concern at all for the patients and the nursing staff is not much better. They make you feel as if they are "put upon" for attending to a patient's needs. The place itself is drab, smelly, and unsanitary; no place for a recuperating human being. The food service is appalling; sometimes they deliver meals to patients without even providing utensils! Be advised to avoid this facility if at all possible!

Be mindful when allowing your loved ones to raise here. This facility is UNDERSTAFFED & extremely UNCLEAN. The hallways, rooms & private bathroom reek of urine. We suggest doing pop-up visits for tours so you can see the realistic version of the type of care that your loved one will be subjected to with this & any other facility. It’s important for the elderly to have a vocal & present advocate for their care; unfortunately there are many unscrupulous people as well as organizations out there

My mom was at Burlington Woods for rehab, so I know that she is going to be fine there. Last time I visited was about a week ago. They have dialysis and arts and crafts. The staff was wonderful. I don't think they would do anything to hurt her. The place was clean.

Its just the worse place it smells terrible the hospital staff said many patients come here because of being neglected. My father was rushed to the hospital from B Woods and died hrs later. I hate this place. I pray for others that are stuck there.

This facility is the lowest of lows. I was unfortunately put there as a short term patient receiving physical therapy. The wing for short term/sub acute patients is closed causing the patients to be with long-term care and special medical needs patients. The facility is completely understaffed. Staff to patient ratio is definitely over the limit. Management/administration are barely present. Patients needs are sacrificed on a daily basis about 2-4 hours per shift. Management expects CNA staff to do the job of a kitchen/dietary staff. Nutritional standards are not even close to being met, they serve Kool-Aid with meals, use imitation products and serve insufficient amounts of food for patients. Patients are not even given a choice of what to eat. All this facility cares about is getting bodies in the building. If you truly care for your Family you will avoid this place at all costs.

From the moment you walk in the door you smell urine, feces and just plain funk. Hallways have big stains in the carpet . It is unfair that while I did encounter 1 nurse and 1 aide that was actually decient the rest were horrible. While the patients were waiting for their meals, the aide would stand up at the serving cart eating the patients food!! IF they are doing that with family present then GOD only knows what they are doing when no one is around. Unfortunately my father had to return to the hospital for something they neglected....he didn't return there !!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE THERE !!!

My family chose Burlington Woods because it offers on-site dialysis for my grandmother. The care she receives is excellent. The nurses and aides are attentive to her care. She even has some "favorites". The therapists have been great. I've walked in to see her, just to find a therapist checking in on her, just to say hello. The social worker has truly helped my family understand the progression of her illnesses.

This is a terrible place! Not enough workers, the food is horrible! The management is the worst from just about every department. Don't put your loved one there if you care about them!
