When my husband would leave the hospital, he would go to Beth Abraham. It appeared to me to be quite efficient, and it looked pretty good to me. It looked like he would have better care there. The patients didn't look nostalgic, and they had more activities. The patients were involved in something like games. They didn't seemed to me to be just drugged in and sitting there. That's what impressed me more. The staff showed me just about everything. They took me all over the whole place. It looked clean, nice, and pleasant. It wasn't grimy or anything like that. The rooms were not spacious, but adequate. The dining area was an adequate, nice, and pleasant room.

My grandfather was at Beth Abraham, and it was good. They treated my grandfather really nicely. There were times that he was a little bit impatient, but I guess that’s what happens to everybody when you don’t live in your own home. The staff was very nice. I don’t have any complaints with them. The place was very clean. There’s a smell once in a while when you pass by a room, but I guess it was the people who are really in a worse condition. But in my thoughts, everything was always OK. There was one person he just didn’t really like, but I can’t even remember her name. Other than that, everybody was nice. Some of the staff even came to his viewing. Even the people who were in there were very nice and polite. For the time that he was there, I would say that he was semi-comfortable. I can’t say completely comfortable because he wasn’t happy about being there anyway because he wanted to be at home. With him it was a delicate situation because of that. The place was very bright. In some rooms, and on certain floors, there was like three beds to a room. So a person with a wheelchair was a little bit hard to maneuver around. They also have these little suites that had one person.

My 98-year-old aunt was in Beth Abraham Health Services. She had only been there for two months. I'm very familiar with this facility. My grandmother also lived there for about the last four years of her life. It's also near my home. My first impression of it was that they were caring, that the facility itself was clean and nice and that they had a lot to offer. Their rooms weren't lavished at all. They were just moderately furnished but they were clean and comfortable. Food seemed to be tasty. They offered a nice variety of menu items. They had very caring quality staff. They had a lot of activities like concerts, trips, bingo, church services, and they had performers come in. Overall, they could improve on having better décor. They need to have modern furniture in there. Nevertheless, this place was very nice. However, my aunt went into depression being there. She wasn't eating because she couldn't swallow. Even though she can walk, they kept her in a wheelchair, so she wasn't walking. She was in the dementia unit and she just couldn't cope there.
