I visited this facility
I am a can with a extensive history of providing 5 star quality care to my patients, I have excellent letters of recommendations, I have been in the healthcare field over 15 years, i figured i can be a asset to the company, I saw silverlake was hiring for CNAs and walked in and filled the application out, shortly after that I was told to hold on and someone will be right with me, not long after I was told that , a short lady came out, she looked very upset, and she just didn't seem to be intrested in interviewing me, her name was Niyra she took me to the back, and asked me 1 question, she seemed to be upset about something. So after the short interview, she said we are doing other interviews , so in my mind I thought ok I give it a day and call back, I called the next day to follow up on my interview, well Niyra told anthor lady that they were not interested. I was appauled that she did not give a reason to why she wasn't interested. I just felt she was prejudice in a way, I felt like I was walking on egg shells during the 2 min interview, Very unprofessional, no mannerisim, she just seemed like she was prejudice toward me for whatever reason. She was very rude, and she just made me feel like something was wrong with me personally.

I am/was a resident of this facility
I was there and my insurance wouldn't cover me after 30 days but I had to stay was on 6 weeks of IV antibiotics and the tests I needed done to see if the infection was still there they wouldn't help me they told me to sign myself out n go get insurance. I had way more problem once in the nursing home. The place smelled of pee really bad like people sat in it all day. The way they treated some of the people blew my mind. They need more nursing staff because the wait when u hit ur bell is unbelievable. They were rude there was a hand full of nurses that were not thank goodness for them. The food is gross and they do not clean the rooms unless the state shows up I had to clean my room n bathroom cause I couldn't take it n I was in a wheel chair. I saw a few roaches in my room that really freaked me out. But they was they treat the people that are staying there really should be looked at....

I am a past client of this provider
I was not pleased with Silver Lake Center. Mom went in there when she had a fall and broke the upper part of her arm last March. She was deaf and has had rheumatoid arthritis. But they would let her sit there all day long. And she would go for days without them even brushing her teeth. I am the one who would go in and do it. I'm a retired registered nurse. To me, it is unacceptable when the bells are ringing and the aides are standing along the wall or in a room just watching TV. She didn't like the food at all, and I understand people there have healthcare needs. But the meals are repetitive and bland. When she went to rehab, the nurses and physical therapy were wonderful. I can't say anything about that. But it was the aides and the auxiliary staff. There are only a few that are really, really attuned and good. And they are so understaffed to meet the basic activities of daily living. My mom had gotten pneumonia and septic shock. It was terrible.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
The center was a wonderful place for my mother to spend her last days when we could no longer take care of her at home. The staff was very caring, and the home was clean with very little oder. As most homes the staff was stretched, but we visited most every day and Mom's needs were always addressed, sometimes we needed to coach them, but most aides were always willing to comply with any reasonable request.
