I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This facility should be closed. The aides were mean and hateful. They did not tell the truth and refused to clean my friend. While she was very weak, she wanted to go to the bathroom and instead they put a diaper on her and told her to go in a diaper. As a result, my friend developed severe skin breakdown in only three days. Shameful behavior for healthcare workers. My friend needed assistance with eating, but the aid simply put the tray on her Bedside table and left. As a result, we brought food to her so she could have warm food to eat. After using the call bell, I would wait for hours and no one would answer. Then I learned I was expected to have my friend dial eight 800 telephone number if no one answered the call bell. So, a woman who cannot feed herself as expected to dial a telephone? Clearly, this process was not working. The therapists were great. It seemed as though the only thing the nurses did was push the med carts. And when I asked questions, I never got a straight answer. My friend was too weak for any activities. Even after talking to the assistant administrator, nothing changed. Thankfully, her family transferred her to another rehab because this facility was so inadequate. No person should ever use this facility. I would rate it lower, if it were possible

My cousin was at Willow Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. That center gave her two bedsores. I would recommend others not to go there, and pick another facility because it was terrible. It was a bad place. She was not treated properly at all. When we tried to call and talk to her, we could not do that. They are just neglectful. The facility was dirty and neglected. I wouldn't say anything nice about them. The staff members were bad, neglectful, and lazy. The rooms were dirty, and the food was horrible. The location was fine. If you really care about somebody, I would not send them there.

Should never have sent her here

I personally do not know what the rooms are like as I was never able to get in to see my wife. I can only say what she tells me about the horror stories about this place. They told me she had a UTI so they were giving her antibiotics but left her in dirty diapers after she asked them to change her. why give her antibiotics if you are not going to take care of the cause? One day they came in to get her out of bed and have her sit in her wheel chair. She asked to have her diaper change as it was dirty and they refused to change her and told her to just sit there. When she did press the call button it took sometimes 30 minutes to 2 hours to respond. She overheard them talking out side her room saying they did not want to take care of her. They said she was too heavy for two people to help. I would call and argue with Ralph the administrator and Haley the social case worker as well as numerous nurses but to no avail. Finally I had enough of their crap and took her out of there. I do really believe they were just milking the insurance company for the money because the care there sucked. This had to be the worst thing that ever happened to my wife and I am so sorry for sending her there. Please do not make the same mistake!

As a friend of a patient who recently had the pleasure of recovery in your facility; I'd like to point out the facility is very clean and kept up on. Safety of their residents is taken very seriously which is a great thing! My encounters with the staff was one of relief; I found them to be courteous; respectful and helpfull; they showed compassion for my friend and towards me during a scary time. With a selection of activities to choose from it definitely made for a more interactive happy time with lots of laughter. And we all know laughter is the best medicine. All in all; thank you to all. Keep up the caring and good works.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have spent the last 90 days of my life at Willow Springs and the experience has been excellent. First the basics it’s clean, it’s mostly quiet, it’s comfortable and the facilities seem to be very well maintained. The food has been very good and very good variety. The kitchen and Ted seems to go out of their way to keep you happy. Now the most important part, the people. My aids are amazing, Edin, Gracie and Maggie (little) took excellent care of me and made my stay exceptional. As I am preparing to leave tomorrow I would like to say that I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing their services. Ralph, the administrator, was always attentive to my needs and reacted expediently to anything I needed or for that or for that matter wanted. It might be interesting to note that this was not my first choice when I knew I was going to a rehab but I can tell you this if I need a rehab in the future this will be number one on my list. I would like to name everyone that was involved in my care and therapy but I will instead say Thank You all for making a difficult time extremely comfortable.

My mother stayed at Willow Springs for rehabilitation. It was excellent. The staff was very friendly and very good. It was nothing, but positive. They had good activities. She had a stroke, and they were very good about handling her situation. She did quite well with them as a result. The dining area was good. We had a very positive experience with them. It's an excellent value.

The rooms were very nice. Only thing that was cleaned daily was the trash. Had to demand them to clean toilet that had feces on it for many days. Had to ask them to sweep floor. Mop floor, food had been spilled on it , the bed was moved to cover it up. When bed was moved back the stain was still there. The aides tried their best but what can three aides do when one has to stay in the TV room with people that belong on the second floor, one has to get the food from the kitchen and serve it. the other aide is left with the care of the occupants. Don't bother to ring for an aide, it takes 15 to twenty minutes for some one to get there. The nurses do not help the aides. they sit at there desks and make themselves busy. They come out to give medicine and then return to there desks. I interacted with the staff on a daily basis. Either they hated me and ignored me or they tried their best to understand the situation. not many were helpful. But those who were were wonderful. My mother enjoyed going to bingo and listening to the music upstairs. Only when my sister and I brought her up. While she was there I received a call saying my mom stubbed her toe. They put neosporin on it and a band-aid. The toe was so big and the toenail was black. It was horrible, looked like a bowling ball fell on it. Each time I tried to take her home something happened. She was sent to the hospital, she was serverly dehydrated and her calcium was nil. it happens twice, the second time they claimed she was having seizures. the lack of calcium makes you spasm. I had gotten a call saying mom fell out of bed while going to the bathroom Mom keep complaining that her side hurt. She didn't go to therapy for two days. I told them that something was wrong and I wanted it checked out. They said x-rays showed nothing. I said do another test. They said doppler showed nothing. I finally called another rehab to get her transferred. They called and then I got a call from Willow springs saying my mother had an appointment to have a cat scan at the hospital. I was there when we got the news that her pelvis was fractured, not from brittle bone but from severe trauma. They claimed it must have happened in the ambulance or in the hospital. Denied calling saying she fell. Mom stayed in hospital and did not return to Willow Springs. When I went to pick up her belongings everyone was in the room . I was so mad I could not contain myself. I screamed at all of them even the man who runs the place. I told them to get the proper people to help. They do not have enough to help everyone the way they need to be treated. I would never recommend this place to anyone if they love their family. I wouldn't even send a sick dog there, BEWARE!!

I wish I had read the reviews before I came to this awful place DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. The aids MOST of them have very bad attitudes. They DO NOT answer the call bell. I have waited over 1 hour many times for an aid, or a nurse. Getting your medication is a JOKE. I have been left in HORRIBLE PAIN for over 2 hours. on more than 10 occasions. The aids are VERY BAD, seem as if they hate every second they are here. Most of the nurses are the same except 3-4. I have seen many nights 3 or more call lights on for more than 30 mins and ALL of the nurses were at the nurses station laughing or on the phone. You WILL SUFFER in pain in this place and most likely pee your bed, because they just flat out DO NOT COME when the bell is rung. Therapy is good, it's better than nothing, although I have been left sitting in my wheelchair for 20 mins staring into space because nothing was being done. The food is THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Cold, nasty, garbage. The Supervisors are the ONLY staff there that really seems to care. It's just to bad that they can not get things taken care of. PLEASE do not come here, it's VERY frustrating EVERYDAY all day and night.

All the staff here were caring and friendly. There were activities for residents to participate in. The dining room atmosphere was cheerful and the food was good and varied. My Mother was well taken care of during the two weeks she spent at Willow Springs.

Tbis place is worse than a prison. No hot water, elevator doesn't work, food is cold, physical therapy is horrific- they don't know what they are doing, they don't have sheets, they don't have diapers, they take the patience's on and off medications as they wish, they can't get transportation right. Whats right is 2 aides....Dominique and Tim are only ones who know what they are doing.

Willow Springs was nicer than it used to be. The downstairs was nicer than the upstairs. They just opened a new wing downstairs. The upstairs seemed like a hospital. The people were very nice. The staff seemed to be good. The only negative thing that I could say is they seemed to put a lot of attention on everything except the food. My mother had a difficult time eating. She was not happy there. They needed to improve on the food because 90% of the time, what they gave her was not what we ordered for her.

My mom was placed there last week and it was the worse 6 days of her life!! One of the Dr,s at Meridium Hospital told me to,go check it out for my Mom who was needing rehab for siatic back pain. He said it was all redone and was much different and I should give it a try. I went and was very surprised. The place was all redone and was very nice. They had just opened a private room wing and there was no extra charge for the room. They had room for her so I talked it over with one of my sisters and we decided to move her there.. The biggest problem is they don't have enough help and the techs will tell you that. Her bell went unanswered all night and we found her in bed in a Puddle of urine more then once. One morning they forgot to bring her breakfast. Took 2 hours or more to,get her pAin mess. She was there last week for a total of 5 nights. Also if you don't go to the dining hall it takes forever to get your food and it is cold. Orange Juice was watered down. One morning my sister could find no one to help her get my up on the toilet. No one was at the desk. We should have read the reviews before we made this terrible decision!

Other

Other than the aids and a few select nurses, this experience was beyond horrific. There lack of medical attention would leave you speechless. The lack of attention to each patient was appalling. Other than a soup or two, the food was inedible. Please, please do your homework before sending a love one to this facility.

This is an awful place and I am so glad my mom only had to stay there 1 week she kept asking me to get her out of there and I couldn't because I didn't have doctors orders and they said if I took her out its against doctors order and insurance won't pay. i had to tell them when my mom had an accident I. Bed and wait a while for someone to come help me get her all cleaned up and I told them someone was stealing her clothes that I had just brought in to her. Mind you my mom kept telling them also but apparently they didn't chose to listen to me or her and the outcome was my mom actually caught the person doing it and the facility chose not to say anything to us and made my mother who is up there in age and sick needing surgery and there with a bad concussion have to fight to prove the clothes where hers. And than finally one night in November they where having a party and while it was taking place, they wouldn't let anyone take showers cause they where partying and when you ask for a shower the next morning cause they didn't get it the night before like they where suppose to people got told no because than management would know they didn't do them the night prior. Now when the mom needed to go somewhere for care after surgery before she comes home all she says to me is please not that place. Worst place thank god it was only A week because one week is plenty. I would never recommend this place and this place was referred to me well I went back to the hospital that recommended it and told them all about that place. It's bad, don't take your loved ones there.

If you are reading this , please for the safety and mental and physical well being of you or a loved one, do not consider willow springs. The people that run this place are mean, they don't follow rules, and they greed is unreal. Not to mention the awful slop they call food. Plus they cant keep nurses or aids for any length of time. Place is a horrible nightmare come true for all residents. Elderly loved ones deserve better then this. Please do your homework carefully. There are some wonderful places in the area. This is NOT one of them.

Nurses and aids were wonderful. The rehab part was absolutely awful. My mother did not physically get any better in 3 weeks The rehad personal other than Manny were horrible and insensitive. My mother was left in a wheelchair for 30 to 45 minutes while a rehad personal was documenting something on the computer when she said something to the guy he said I have to do the first so horrible need to have new physical therapy staff and program. Again aids were wonderfull. And nurses were wonderful. The food was so horrible my mom didn't eat at all. Need to change food 100 percent.

My mother became a resident in January. She was living home alone and needed more care than we could provide. She was never a people person and just liked to watch TV. Now she is outgoing, loves the activities, has gained weight from the terrific food. The Social Worker found her the perfect roommate and they are best friends! The aides give her great care and treat her like family. The nurses always keep me updated on her care. The place is spotless and her clothes are clean from the laundry. Willow Springs is a wonderful place to live for my Mother.

Burnt Tavern is in a neighborhood my aunt used to live in. It's a small nursing home. They're very caring and very good to her. The food and sanitation is absolutely good. She is having a very good experience there. I will absolutely recommend them to others.
