I was admitted to Brandon Court. Very little privacy given - curtain not pulled when I was in a semi private room - door not close. Staff answered call light quickly but didn't fulfill requests quickly. Food was very generic, institutional, minimal menu items from scratch. Food portions are extremely small with seconds rarely available. Aides not friendly for the most part. Evening and night staff far superior to day staff. Specific staff members during day shift were kind. Nursing supervisor tried to take care of issues when brought to her attention. Semi private room was dark and dreary. Private room was light and more cheerful. Rooms are very basic. Very small area for personal items. Therapy Services were very good. Good thing I could be resourceful when it came to my basic care and didn't need to call the staff too often. During this time of decreased visitation due to the pandemic, there is no family help with residents and no family presence to ask for assistance for residents who can not request assistance on their own. No Clergy available for prayer, blessings, etc. I can not address activities or amenities due to the current pandemic, I was offered a box to paint once and given a small piece of watermelon on Memorial Day. Residents were not to mingle or gather in groups. I do not recommend Brandon Court for rehab, assisted living or as a nursing home based on my stay.

These people confine elders to wheelchairs if they have even the slightest mobility issues. This is done to reduce the workload of the staff and results in the loss of the ability to walk over time. My dearest friend was sent there for PT and rehab of a fractured extremity. Their “care” nearly killed her. Thank goodness her family realized what was happening and got her out in time. I fear for the poor vulnerable souls still in their facility.

Terrible communications between family and staff. They were not helpful with pain management. They had bursted pipe and had to evacuate to other cities. Mother sat in wheelchair for 6 hours during the night in the cafeteria and transported by school bus to Laurel. She has terrible pains in back, buttocks and leg with no pain care. The whole Brandon Court experience was a disaster.

My mother was at Brandon Court for approximately 6 weeks. They used the room temperature to control her by setting it to COLD. She was prescribed medications she didn’t have a diagnosis to support. They allowed her to become impacted which caused bowel proliferation even after being made aware of concerns two weeks prior. Before calling an ambulance an RN physically dug 4 cups of feces from my mother’s rectum and she had a colostomy. Staff encourage patients with depends on to urinate in the depends so they don’t have to take them to the bathroom. There are very few RNs on duty. LPNs pass meds and they were always short staffed. CNAs with inadequate training provide 98% of care.... such that it is. This is not a “skilled” nursing facility. My Aunt was there and requested water during the night. She was told she couldn’t have any and go back to sleep. If Brandon Court is your only option, bring your loved one home. I did and I wish I had done it 6 weeks earlier.

My mom spent about 20 days there in 2016 for rehab. There were 2 administrative ladies who bent over backwards doing everything they could to help me place my mom there because it was extremely close to my home and we were having a hard time finding another place to take her that was decent. I was there almost every day. She was on the west side in a private room. The rehab was very, very good. My mom liked the facility, although it wasn't home and she wanted to go home, She did not want to make friends. She did not want to eat meals in the dining area, so they brought meals to her, although later than the others, and she fussed about that. We thought the food was very good. Her major complaint was that morning meds were distributed about mid morning. She was used to having her meds early in the morning, and it drove her batty that meds came so late. They had lots of activities on both floors in general gathering areas. Friends who came to visit her there commented that it was a very nice place. If she has to go back, this is where we would try to return to.

I visited Brandon Court. It seemed crowded. It was nice and clean, but I did not like the floor plan. They had two floors.

Well this would be a Home if Rehab is needed to stay away from. The rehab team is awfull. This home really need help. The CNA nurses are all wonderfull and willing to help and take care of patients but it is very obvious that upermanagement has no clue what goes on in a medical need. This would be a DO NOT STAY ! Upon the first visit its all good and very good talking but no action... Just my opinion !!

my dad was in this facility for 3 years. this is a poorly run nursing home with profit being the number one concern. the food is horrible due to cost cutting & poor dietary staff. . the nurses are overworked with 25-30 residents per nurse, again due to cost cutting. many times I had to buy bedpads due to the facility being "out" of them during weekends. there is no leadership or supervision of the CNA's and nurses and complaints are considered "no big deal". staff often spends 1-2 hours a day smoking and talking outdoors in the recreation area while residents are ignored. my advice? AVOID at all costs
