I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom moved into Swiss Village. We chose it because my sister lives close to it. They keep us updated, they send a daily message to us about Covid concerns because they have had an employee tested positive, so right now they are on a two-week shutdown because of that. She ended up in skilled nursing because she had fallen and had a hairline fracture in her hip. So far, everyone has been quite well, she speaks highly of the staff when I talk to her on the phone. The cost is comparable to other places we looked at.

I visited this facility

The rooms at Swiss Village were a little nicer, but overall the cost was more. They had a library, a chapel, and an activity room where residents can meet to play games or cards. My impression of the staff was very good, very well qualified, and very caring. The facility was very clean. The dining area was very nice, decorated very nicely, very homey, and comfortable.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom was in Swiss Village for three months. They have a few ponds and a little garden for the independent living residents. The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring. I like their care and there are a lot activities as well as a lot of people there. My mom liked the salon so she could have her hair done and they have religious services every Sunday. She liked the food.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I believe that this place is one of the best in the state. They have a lot of very appealing amenities that a lot of other places do not offer. This place really makes it into a different community from the town that it is located in. This place has it's own gift shop, barber, salon, and restaurant where the residents family's can come eat with them. This location also has every kind of retirement option. This is a place for people to live in a house, apartment, or assisted living. This location is also very large. There are 3 large ponds that have walking paths around and if the residents are not able to go outside for health reasons, also have large windows to see the ponds from the inside. The inside also has a large aquarium as well as an aviary with very lively birds. Just to reiterate, I do think that this is one of the top retirement communities in the state, maybe even the country.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Swiss Village is a very nice place for a retirement community. Swiss Village is considered a retirement home but every aspect of it makes it a community. My major experience is the "nursing home" part of it but even the nursing home is very nice. The residents don't just sit in one room and do everything in there. The residents are constantly active if they are able to move because the facility is constantly doing activities. Swiss Village also is very accommodating to the families of the residents with the restaurant that they have. The residents can eat there for free with their meals and the food is quite good. The staff at Swiss Village is also quite nice and will do what they can do help the residents. Swiss Village also has apartments for residents who do not require constant care but just want to be in a retirement community close to their friends. Swiss Village also allows for outdoor activity with a wide array of walking trails for the residents to be able to go outside. I would recommend Swiss Village as a superb location for retirement or assisted living.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The overall feeling in Swiss Village is one that I think is very positive. The nurses and staff are very helpful to the residents and try to make their lives as comfortable as possible. The grounds are very well maintained and provide outdoor activity for those who are able to venture outdoors. There are also a lot of private locations and dining areas for families to be able to come and eat with the residents. The staff also provides a lot of activities for the residents that involve participation. Swiss Village really makes the residents have their own community. The residents can choose to either have their food delivered to their rooms or choose to go to the "restaurant" where they can eat with friends or have their family come eat with them. Swiss Village also has its own little town that includes shops and places like a barber and a mini salon. My uncle has experience around many Retirement Homes/Communities over the US and he says that Swiss Village is one of the best in over all package. I would recommend this location if someone is looking into a Retirement Home/Community that will help make the resident feel welcomed and happy.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Swiss Village, Inc. is a wonderful facility. It is clean, bright, and open, which makes it feel less like a medical setting and more of a home. The majority of the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful and polite. However, there are a lot of teenagers employed there so I can't say I've never experienced a bad attitude from an employee. The campus is quite large and has assisted living and villa type homes as well. Before my grandmother's decline, she participated in an array of activities including games, wheelchair exercises, watching movies, etc. The chapel is not far from the nursing wing, which is important to a lot of the residents. There's also a daycare at the facility and occasionally the children will go for walks through the home, which the residents love. There are birdcages and fish tanks throughout the facility that the residents provide entertainment for the resident and visitors alike. The nursing staff kept us up to date when it was my grandmother's time to go and was very supportive in our time of grief. It's difficult to put someone you love in a nursing home, but if I had to put my parents anywhere, I'd want them to go to a place like Swiss Village.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Swiss Village is a beautiful facility. However, the food is slightly lacking. My mother's friend eats very little because the food does not appease her taste. The hallways have a strange smell, which I assume could be true to any nursing home. I feel as if this ruins the ambiance of the beautiful building. The residents enjoy the daily activities, including gardening, knitting, and other familiar hobbies. The pool is also a big hit among the residents. The therapy sessions there give them something different to look forward to. The staff is amazing. From the CNAs to the RNs to the administrators. Everyone seems to be in a good mood at Swiss Village. They do a phenomenal job at keeping the residents happy.
