I am a friend or relative of resident
We placed my father-in-law at Rose Villa for a few days In July 2015 after he left Lakewood Regional Hospital. Within 4 days he developed bedsores that he did not have when he left the hospital. Apparently he was not being turned frequently enough. In addition, he came home with a severe diaper rash. He did not leave the hospital with this either. He got this rash because he was not being changed frequently enough. Finally, they had no respect for my father-in-law's comfort or dignity. It was unseasonably warm in the rooms. They did not cover him with a sheet (to hide his diaper) and he was absolutely mortified when guests came to see him. We ended up removing him from the facility 'against medical advice.' This was the advice of the doctor that was never there to see him. I would not trust a loved one to this place.

Overall, I am pleased with this facility. This is mainly because of the staff. It is very important for someone in these situations to be seen and heard as a human being. It is important to be able to maintain your dignity and I believe the staff here makes an effort in that. I feel like the Physical Therapy received here could be better. I don't think that they step out of the box in treating the patients. They follow a strict regimen and pattern without listening to what the patients desires are. The food here leaves alot to be desired. My Mom has lost over 20 lbs. in her 2 1/2 months here and her room mate was told today that she lost 3 lbs. in a week. The appetite and nutrition play a huge part in rehabilitation and also in maintaining good health. I think more emphasis should be placed on improving the meals in this facility. I have heard countless people complain about the food they are served and many are just picking at their plates, losing weight and becoming weak.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
My grandpa was a resident of Sunbridge Nursing Home from 1997 to 2001 when he passed away. There were pros and cons to his experience there. He was an Alzheimers patient so he required a lot of attention and time. The nurses that were in charge of feeding and bathing him were sub-par. They would not take the time to feed him so he would often be hungry and lost quite a bit of weight before we figured out what was going on. Further more, at the beginning they would bruise him when bathing him because they wouldn't take the time and patience to move slowly and make him feel comfortable. However, the charge nurse, once she was aware of the situation was fantastic and made sure that he was taken care of properly. She assigned him several nurses that were the best and had the most patience. The two nurses that were regularly his bonded with myfamily and it was evident that they cared for my grandpa like he was a person in their families. Also, they allowed a volunteer to come in and do extra things for the patients and he was an angel. He shaved my grandpas' face, put lotion on him, read to him, and even made the exta effort to make my grandma feel cared for too. Overall, I would say we had an average experience with a few shining exceptions.
