I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Clean, responsive, kind, family member felt safe, variety of activities were provided, indoor and outdoor, (saw an elderly patient pulling weeds in the garden), I attended a well done luau, worships, concerts, indoor games, music therapy. I visited almost daily at random times; I was not looking for someone to treat me special-I was looking for good care. I saw the care/patient interaction and of course they were busy but it wasn’t about me; they were caring for many people that were usually not getting much care from their own family .

This place is a pig pen. They should not be allowed to have a license. And their billing is worse. They billed be $200 15 months after my wife died. Good luck finding anyone there that speaks understandable english

My mom has been having rehab at Cherry Valley Healthcare for a month now. It's pretty large and they can live there or go there for therapy or rehab. It's nice and everyone's very friendly. The place is more of a hospital type. Her room is shared and it has two people. They have games, arts and crafts, movie nights, and they take them on outings and shopping once a week or once every two weeks. There are a lot of activities and the place is very clean and welcoming.

I didnt even want to rate this one star but had to in order to submit this review... First off, let me start off with the receptionist...since she is the first face you see upon arrival, you'd think she would be more professional and at least crack a smile, or welcome you with a simple hello...she did neither one of those. Also, the office staff is quite unprofessional, upon arrival one day, I heard another office staff member talking badly about a resident and their family members...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. This place is very cold, the aides walk right past you, no smile, no hellos...Each and every time my family and I went to visit our grandfather, which was very frequently, our grandfather was soiled...We had to call for an aide, and the responsibility was passed on from one lazy aide to another because she simply was incapable of doing her job. Our grandfather shared a room with another gentleman and I felt badly for him, because he too was being neglected. He'd shout several times and pull his emergency cord and the aides walking right past him did nothing to help him. The nurses station is just a few doors down, in which "the head" evening nurse was on duty at the time and was in her office, but did nothing but ignore the poor elderly gentleman. All he wanted to do was to be put to bed because he had been sitting in his uncomfortable wheel chair for several hours. Each time we walked into our grandfathers room, it smelled of urine and feces because his roomate was not being changed or checked on as per guidelines. Well visiting our grandfather, we had to stay on top of his care to ensure he was being repositioned and changed when soiled. It terrifies me to think of how he was being cared for when our family members were not with him. I am so glad that my family transferred my grandfather to a cleaner, more attentive, professional place...this place was not our first choice to begin with. DO NOT place your loved one here. This place is horrific!! I will be contacting the state ombudsman to report this place because what they are doing is a form of elder abuse by being so neglectful!

If you care about your loved one - DO NOT allow them to spend one minute in this facility. Our father was released to their care from the hospital. From the first 24 hours between the neglect, the medicine mistakes and being mistreated, we immediately looked to move him to another facility. We couldn't believe how unprofessional and lackadaisical the staff was. He was freezing and only had a light sheet on his bed - brought warm clothes from home for him to wear. Had to ask for a simple wash cloth - they hadn't bathed our father since he was checked in 6 days before. Finally on the 7th day we were able to get him released and discharged to another facility. When that facility inspected him on admission he was covered in open bed sores wounds and feces. I wouldn't allow a rabid dog to stay in this place. Don't allow your loved one. Wish I could click zero stars

I visited this facility

Cherry Valley was not good. I checked it out for my dad, and I didn’t even want to go much further into the place. I don’t think anyone there is accommodating to the patients. The majority of the staff don’t even speak English well, so I don’t know how they are able to communicate with the patients. It seemed like they were talking to each other more than they were addressing patients’ issues. It didn’t feel well managed, and when you first step in the door, and it just doesn't feel right. I would not recommend it. I would steer people away from it.

Facilities were clean, food was good, nurses were caring and understanding, making and extra effort due the lack of English knowledge of the patient.Listened to the needs of the patient and were very helpful in resolving any issues, they were comforting in the trasition to hospice care within the same facility, all the way until the end. They became family. My only concern that they were reactive to the situations instead of proactive, we have to keep remaining them if they have called the doctor or to find if the doctor has called back. They were some issues with the prescriptions, she will ran out and failed to call the doctor, or we need to ask if certain test were indicated or if they have requested. We kept pressure on the staff when they will tell us that the patient did not complain when they were in the room, mind you she spoke only Spanish, and consequently we will go back an asked, did you understand whar she was saying? A lot of guess work on their part, We went every day and night for her meals, so we will notice any changes on her conditions and asked what have been done about it.

My grandmother lived in this facility for five years. Overall, I felt the facility was very clean. The staff tried to make the facility as friendly and inviting as possible. They always had the lobby and hallways decorated for whatever holiday was coming up. They also had several programs for the residents to participate in, like movie or sing-along nights, although my grandmother really didn't do much of this. The staff was very friendly. Regarding the staff, the nurses aides(LVNs & CNAs) were very caring. They treated my grandmother like she was family, stopping by to check on her and chat with her so she wouldn't feel lonely. The nurses themselves were okay, but they tended to be reactive, rather than proactive. They wouldn't do anything unless prompted, which sometimes had detrimental effects of my grandmother's health. My family really had to keep on eye on my grandmother's healthcare.

The facility has a warm atmosphere, very clean and odor-less. The Nursing Assistants are very caring and engaged with the residents. They provide entertainment and celebrate the major holidays. The RNs tend to be reactive rather than proactive. Since I was involved in my mothers care for five years, it was less of a concern, as I directed them to call the physician's office as I saw the need. This was my greatest complaint and it was brought up to upper management on several occassions.

I am very pleased with this nursing home. My great grandmother resides here and I am satisfied with the nurses and employees that treat her. They are very friendly. My family always feels very comfortable and never have a problem communicating with anyone. The staff takes very good care of my grandmother and has great memory and relationships with the relatives and friends that come to visit the residents. Nurses are ALWAYS keeping us up to date.
