I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was admitted straight from the hospital two weeks ago. His care has been horrible. Examples include: he requires a pillow under his leg to elevate it due to a severe long-term wound. They were unable to provide him one extra pillow so I mailed him one. The nurses refused to listen to him about his wound care protocol that a doctor prescribed. Last night in the middle of the night he asked for lotion for his dry arms. The aid refused to help him put it on and THREW a bottle and glove at him and walked out. These people are cruel and treat patients like garbage. Run away if you can.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We chose The Commons on St. Anthony for our parents because out of all the ones in our area, they were the best. They're understaffed and overworked, but the staff and the nurses truly do care about them. When we come in, they pretty much know all of us. My mom is not happy now, but they're trying to do things for her. The other day, they were doing Judy Garland songs, and she started singing in her room and having fun. One of the nurses had an extra DVD player, and she brought it in. I told them I have old musicals that my mom loves, and we can play them in her room. They always do something to get her out and get her going, and I think that's wonderful. However, sometimes, she has to wait when she has to go to the bathroom, and I understand that. Everyone I've interacted with has been wonderful. They are not that near a window, and mom likes the window, but that's not available. They have people come in with a guitar and for singing. They do movies and a lot of activities. You have to truly encourage Mom because she lays in bed all day, but if you get her involved, she will do it.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was a short term rehab resident and was very pleased with both the care I received on the floor and from the physical and occupational therapists. Everyone was kind and caring as well as being skilled at their jobs. My mother-in-law and a good friend have lived on long term resident floors and, as far as I can tell, received similar treatment. The food is good and they try to provide alternatives to keep you happy and well fed. This is the place I would want to go if it ever again becomes necessary

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The Commons on St. Anthony is a newer facility. We ended up putting my husband's mother there, and it is lovely. The staff is very friendly. They are very willing to work with us. The room she is in is very clean and beautiful. They serve one big meal at lunch, and it looks very nice. There is a beautiful physical therapy suite on site, and they have a salon.
