I've been so impressed with this Nursing facility! The staff is so friendly and positive and caring! You can tell that the staff enjoy working here and that is reflected in the care they give your loved ones. THIS IS A HAPPY PLACE! When it comes to care for a loved one, CARE is the most important element and that is the focus here. In addition, the facility is clean and well-managed. The meals are good and the activities and rehab facilities are also great. High marks altogether for this facility!

I have to say how extremely satisfied and overwhelmed with the staff members that I have interacted with!! A few of the staff members who's names I do know off hand because I see them so often are, Aaron(male nurse), Susan(speech therapist), and La'Toyia(Head R.N.) are just a few of the staff that has not only made this hard time our family is going through so much easier but they make me feel like I don't have to worry about him be cleaned up, fed and making sure his physical training is under control and not letting him put it off by say later or tomorrow because he is good for that and that's why we are in this situation! I can honestly say that I don't write too many reviews but I feel like it's only fair that the hard work these wonderful people do gets some recognition because I'm sure their paychecks do not reflect all the hard work and patients they put in to this job because it can not be easy dealing with older people who's own family can't wont or don't help as much as they should and I take my hat off to this facility as a whole!!! Thank You Sandy Springs Center For Nursing and Healing!!!

This place is terrible. My father stayed there for almost a month "recovery from a hospital visit" As far as I can tell they did nothing except give him food and water. I asked repeatedly to get him cleaned up including shave, hair cut and shower. He never received neither in a month. He looked pretty bad and did not smell very good. He has never had a full beard in his life. He was actually in worse condition , bed sores and dirty when discharged. It seem like their attitude is "It's not my problem." I am now trying to figure out why there is no one to speak to at the facility. It seems that they are either " to busy" etc. If you call the front desk you will get transferred to a line that goes to a full voicemail or they just let it ring. Before you have some one you care for staying there. Call the front desk and ask for a manager or a nurse and you will see how responsive they are. Also the billing is not good and you will get bills without explanation pooand if you get through to billing they say it has nothing to do with them, its from corporate. The number they gave me is for compliance and most options does not work as the voicemail s are full.

The care that Sandy Springs Health and Rehab (Northeast Atlanta Health & Rehabilitation Center) has provided my father is not good. He's in the hospital. The staff members were all very nice and seemed very willing to talk to me. But the care wasn't good, and my dad ended up with an infection from a bed sore that grew ten times what it was from when he first got it. So the team didn't pay attention to what was going on. They were all nice and helpful, so I don't know what happened. We were not able to come in because of COVID-19, and his room didn't have a window to where we could actually see him.

The staff at the rehab facility was excellent. The nurses (especially Ms. Ty), therapy staff, case manager (Ms. Lieta) and doctor were very supportive of my sister's needs. They worked with her to help her regain the strength she required to function at her assisted living facility. The nurses took were responsive and supportive of my sister's concerns. My sister was a challenge for the staff in that her health needs were many: weight, congestive heart failure issues, medication and that she could be demanding. I watched them conduct her therapy to recover her strength on a number of occasions. The therapy staff were firm in pushing her, yet patient when they had to be to encourage her and motivate my sister to regain her strength. The case worker staff were responsive and very helpful in assisting me in coordination of insurance company information. They also were very responsive in coordination of the various requirements for the transition to the assisted living facility. Overall, all the competent staff were very helpful in responding to my sister's and my concerns when it came to her care at the facility. The facilities were very good too. Activities were great for what my sister could do in her health situation. My sister did not like a few meals, but to be honest she was on a diabetic, low salt diet congestive heart failure diet, and it's rough to please her. I tasted the food a number of times and it was good to me. Nutrition is the key I was looking for in my sister's situation.

This facility and the time my dad spent here was horrible and I hope no one has to go through the same experiences my family went through. I have listed the various experiences we went through. -My father was transferred from St. Joseph's Hospital by ambulance after open heart surgery. The ambulance drivers got him into his bed and no one entered the room to greet us, set us up, let us know about the admission procedures. I waited an hour before I searched out a nurse to get him a urinal. Then I had to contact them again to get a help button set up. After 2 hours finally someone came to discuss admissions. -My dad used the urinals at night and it was never emptied. It sat on his bedside table each day filled with pee and growing each night. -After PT (which he did love) he was brought back to the wrong room, put in the wrong bed, and left there. They only found him because I mentioned I was concerned because he had "been at PT" an hour longer than they said it would last. -Each day I came in and read through any paper work that was on his night table. Interestingly he had the Baseline Care Plan and Summary which had a section that said it had been shared and discussed with me... which it had not been. -I left the 2nd night making sure they were set up to give my dad his sleeping meds (which they did not give the night before). I spoke with the nurse in charge who was on the phone with the doctor and they said he would get his sleeping meds that night. I returned the next day to find they had not given him his medication. The nurse could not tell me why so she called the doctor and gave him my cell phone number to call me back. 6 hours later the doctor called the nursing station, he refused to call me, and said they were unable to fill the prescription and they could only administer it if I gave them his personal medication bottle. Yet the 1st day we arrived they scolded me from bringing in outside medication saying no outside medication is allowed in the building for any reason, not even to give to the nursing station. This further frustrated me because the doctor finally let me know at 7pm which is rush hour traffic and I live an hour away. If he had called me back at a reasonable time I would have been able to get the medication without rushing back before bedtime. AND I still wonder if anyone was planning on telling me this if I had not been so persistent about it. Don't they have to administer all medications as they are prescribed to the patient. -when we decided this was not the place for us, it took me 2 full days to get him discharged and transferred to another facility. When paperwork was asked to be transferred over they would send some of tbe paperwork leaving out important papers so that I would have to repeatedly follow up to get it faxed over again. The final fax where it said he was being discharged took an hour. First they resent the paperwork they had already sent instead of the discharge papers. Then they sent over paperwork that was not completely filled out. Then they sent it over without page 7. My dad went through open heart surgery and instead of sitting next to him and keeping him company and cheering on his small accomplishments, I was running around this building making sure he was getting meds, getting food, and trying to get him out of this prison. Please save yourself the time and frustration and find a different facility.

The staff at this place are VERY caring, gentle and yet professional. Everyone I have met from the reception desk, to nurses, CNAs and doctors have been pleasant,to work with. The therapy department has wonderful people who do a good job of balancing praise and encouragement, so their patients want to work hard for them. My parent has been here for over 35 days and the only negative thing is that on rare occasions my parent has not gotten a meal.
