I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I chose Brookdale Ormond Beach West because I think it best fits my sister's needs because of her advanced dementia and memory problems. Plus, the apartments for the residents are very nice. It's almost like a little studio apartment and they're very clean and updated. The people there are very nice. Their CNAs or LPNs, their health directors, and their activity director have all been there for over ten years. So far, my sister said the food is fine. They ask you what type of food your loved one prefers. As far as amenities, it's a very wide open facility. It's circular and U-shaped, so there's a lot of walking room where the residents can walk around. They have a beautiful courtyard where they plant things and the residents plant things. They have a nice lanai off the courtyard to sit on. They have a nice sitting room upfront with a fireplace and a television if the residents just want to be in the wide open with everybody. I don't know the staff all that well, but the ones I've met are very, very nice and very considerate. I've had little few glitches, but nothing major. I'm sure it's just overwhelming for them or they're too busy, but they're getting straightened out. The activities are wonderful. I've been to a couple of them myself. The activity director has been there for 11 years. She gets the residents involved and she does a lot of fun things. It's a little pricy though. They're in the range, but they're a little higher than some of the other ones.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad is in Brookdale Ormond Beach West. It's a memory care and it's well maintained, it didn't smell bad, and it looked good. The residents were out and about in the community when I visited. They weren't stuck in their rooms and they were engaged in activities. The staff was very friendly and they seemed to enjoy the residents and care about them. For this facility, they have to be quarantined for 5 days before they are allowed out of their rooms so that means the family can come and visit then. Unfortunately for my dad, once he got out of quarantine, we were going to visit him but we discovered about 4 days after he got out of quarantine that he got COVID. We have not seen him or been able to see how he's doing there. It's all been communicated by the staff. They've also had outside home health come in to visit him, and they've all been giving good reports of his status and his care. His room is nice. It has a little kitchenette, a little living room, a bedroom, and its own bathroom with a walk-in shower. I thought, for one person, it's a pretty good setup and more than what he even needed. They have activities in the morning, in the afternoons, and on weekends. Today, we stopped by there just to drop off some goodies for him. As I was looking in the window, out in the great room or the community living room, they had live music and everybody was sitting around watching the people sing, and they seemed to be having a good time. It was a shame that we couldn't get in to see them, but they seemed to be having a good time. One of our issues is that my parents were not very big savers and this is pretty expensive. At least I think it is. They told me that you get what you pay for but there is another Brookdale that's about 35-40 minutes away in another town, and we're going to be going and looking at that at the end of this coming week because their price is about $2000 cheaper. It's the same company. One is just located out in the country and the other is located in town. I asked them why they can't get these same rates here in town and they just gave me the feeling of, "We're the best" and all that. It's not going to be doable for us to pay this amount long term. I think they're a little pricey.

I visited this facility

The staff members at Brookdale Ormond Beach West were not as attentive as those at the other places I visited. There were more residents and not as many caregivers, and I saw a lot less interaction among them, but it's not a bad place. The rooms looked clean, nice, fresh, and appropriate.

I visited this facility

Brookdale Ormond Beach West was amazing. It was clean and well organized. There's an activity space. The rooms were private with private showers, but there's always staff to help. They were all very friendly. They have at least one nurse on staff 24 hours a day.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law is in Brookdale Ormond Beach West. Their staff is extremely caring, friendly, loving, very attentive, patient, and they have great energy. They have a beautiful outside garden that the folks can come and go. It's not secured, so they can come in and out of that area. They have activities throughout the day like games, music, and movies. She loves the food there. It's a beautiful facility. They're very timely in following things up. There isn't anything negative about my experience there.

My mother is in Brookdale Ormond Beach West. They have a good activities director and 24-hour nursing, which is a big deal to us. So far, it's working out fine. The rooms are pretty large. It has two little, nice areas. There's a courtyard with beautiful gardens that her room looks out onto. It has a bathroom with easy access for a wheelchair. The people genuinely care about the residents.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband has been in Brookdale Ormond Beach West since October. I chose it because it is a secure, clean place, and they always have nursing staff there. I like the ratio of the staff to residents. They train their staff very well in how to handle people who have memory issues. The room my husband has is very nice. They have excellent activities, too.

I visited this facility

I really liked Brookdale Ormond Beach West. It was in a rectangle with an atrium in the center that residents could freely walk in and out of if they wanted to go outdoors. They had a spacious area where the residents could wander off freely. The rooms were a decent size with two bedrooms. The staff seemed to be decent, and I liked the ratio of the care.

I visited this facility

I went to Clare Bridge of Ormond Beach and I thought the facility was decorated nicely. The room that they showed me was adequate. I didn't get to meet any staff expect for the person who was doing the tour and she kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I had a lot of questions and she told me, "are you really looking for someone or are you an inspector?" She really didn't want to speak to me because I wasn't the one with the money. I felt that she really didn't want to waste her time on me. I also feel that there are too many residents and not enough staff.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We just moved my mother a couple of weeks ago. The main reason why we chose this facility is because of their staff ratio versus the residents. Their staff ratio was really good. They can take care of the residents better. They are friendly and caring towards the residents and the family of the residents. I like that the residents are in a structured environment. I like that they know what's gonna be happening during the day and there they plenty of good activities. They have scrap-booking and they take the residents out once in a while. She is in studio setting and it's really lovely. Their meals looked great and the menus looked great.

I visited this facility

My friend and I went to visit the Clare Bridge of Ormond Beach assisted living facility since he is looking for a place for his mother to live. The outside grounds had lush, well-kept greenery. There was also a nice area in back for residents and their friends and families to enjoy. The foyer was fresh, bright and airy. As we walked through the facility, we could see that it was kept clean and nice for the residents. It was also clear that they can handle different levels of ambulation and memory impairment. The restaurant style dining areas offered many delicious choices. The lunch we saw looked like one you might find in an upscale venue. Their was also had a private dining room for friends and family to enjoy. The facility offers plenty of amenities - like social enrichment activities within and around the community. The staff takes residents on weekly outings for shopping and entertainment, nature walks and other recreational activities. The residents are encouraged to enjoy physical activity as much as possible. They may take exercise classes such as yoga and aerobics, or use the weight training and other equipment. Residents may also enjoy the outer walk ways around the building. The private housing options spacious apartments, and a variety of floor plans to choose from, were all lovely and looked like they had been personalized. This looked like a great place for seniors to live, in a caring and safe environment.
