Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield

Isle at Watercrest Mansfield was like a dungeon. We saw a room. It was high end and had two closets, so that was nice. As far as the one room itself, I would rate it a four. It was really dark. It was not institutional where it is bright and clean. It was like walking into an old hotel.

Everything about Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield was fine, but it's in a little older area. The staff member will help us with getting Veterans aide. The room was enough for one person. The dining area was clean and presentable. The staff was good, helpful, and friendly. They have an outdoor living area, but you have to cross over an area of a parking lot to get to it and that wouldn't be safe for my dad. They provide activities for the residents. The staff has been there for a long time. However, the price was too much.

I visited Isle at Watercrest in Mansfield and it was impressive. They have different levels of care, and the staff I met was really nice. However, it wasn't as convenient for us, because it's a little more out of the way and wasn't quite as cost-effective. It's a nice community overall, and I also like their activities. They don't have an all-inclusive price, but levels of care instead. It's a plus that they have skilled nursing inside the community. So if you need increased care you can get it from the same place. I didn't find other places like that except in this community. Mario, the staff member, was great. He was the sales person. I have met him before. He knows the people and he's very nice. He's a big plus as far as I'm concerned, because he watches over some things and is easy to work with.

Isle at Watercrest was excellent, but the price was just too much. The rooms were good. We did see Bingo happening. The dining area was kind of dark. Overall, it was clean and well maintained.

Pricewise, for what I was getting, Isle at Watercrest Mansfield was not bad. They had everything going on. I had lunch there, and the food was excellent. The place was very well maintained and very good.

Isle at Watercrest was a nice facility and had everything I needed. The staff was awesome. They answered every question and went beyond in explaining everything to me. They told me what they can do and what they had available at the facility. They took me around and showed me other people who were close to my physical ability, they were very professional, and I had a very nice visit. The apartments were really nice. They were clean and well-designed where you can have more than one person in the room if you so desire or if you can afford it, and they showed me where everything was located as far as proximity to getting down to church on a Sunday morning or during your Bible study. It was very encouraging.

Watercrest was a bit more than we can afford, but we liked it. The apartments were nice. However, the kitchen and dining areas were small. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice. They had trips to doctors and grocery stores.

I visited Isle at Watercrest – Mansfield and it opened up two years ago. The building was decorated darker, and the wall seemed heavy. It wasn't as uplifting or as pleasing to the eyes. Even with the lights on, you still had this feeling of darkness. The staff were very caring and very attentive. They encouraged questions and they were helpful. However, they were more expensive than the other ones.

I looked into Watercrest to explore my options. They treated me very well, but I was visiting the place,so of course they had to be nice to me because they want me to move in. They had a game room, a little exercise room, a movie room, and a room for women to get their hair done and whatever else women do to themselves. The food was very, very satisfactory. I could easily live on that. They had a good chef in the kitchen. The place was well kept.

We are in assisted living at Isle at Watercrest. We have, 3 meals a day, weekly housekeeping, daily activities. Our services will increase as our needs increase. At present, my husband and I don’t need personal attention.

My husband, Royce, was moved to Watercrest on August 15, 2014 after being at another facility. He has had the very best of care since being here. He is no longer agitated because of the employees that are here to care for him. They have a wonderful activities program that keeps the mind and the body active.

Wonderful facility with lots of amenities. Great, easily accessible location. Caring, competent, and well-trained staff. Great food with lots of variety. My husband and I now call this our home and we love it.

I had visited Isle at Watercrest, and I thought it was very good. My first impression with the people working there was that they were very nice, but I was just there for a few minutes. However, they seemed to be very warm, friendly, and professional. The rooms were very spacious and very well designed for an elderly person. The food was very good. I don't remember anything going on at that time, but they do had planned activities. What impressed me were the services that they offered and the levels of care. I would highly recommend them to others.

I think Isle at Watercrest is marvelous because it is a large facility. They give us three meals a day. Food is always a good balanced meal. You have a choice of salads and soups. There is a main course and dessert. However, they could improve on the quality of the meals. We have a three-room place and we could have two beds in the bedroom. We have two nice dens. The master bedroom is huge and it has a huge closet. For activities, they have a meeting at 9:00 in the lobby and they are going to take everybody to the Dollar Tree. They have wellness activities in the wellness center. They have manicures in the activity room. Also, they have an audio book club in the club room. They have shuffle board and bingo. It is just different each day. The place is very secure. They lock the doors at night and there is an alarm system.

Of all the facilities we looked at, Watercrest was the nicest. It really gave the impression of being a small luxurious hotel. They have an actual chef, and the menu rotates. They have several choices each day and basically one or 2 entrees that the chef has prepared especially for that day, plus a selection of basics they can have if they don't want those. I expected the prices to be a lot more expensive, but they were similar, for the basic-sized rooms, to the other places we looked at. They have everything from luxurious apartments to the very nice assisted living with an extended care wing and a memory care wing, so it would serve most of their needs. They have extended care down the hall so that if someone becomes ill or comes home from a hospital stay and needs more nursing care on a temporary basis, they can do that. We really were very impressed with the place. They seem to have rooms that are a little bit larger, unless you got all the way down to their studio, which was comparable in size to other places. They have a little park, and if they're in a wheelchair or a mobile they can get to that behind the facility. It shares grounds with their independent living apartments. It was pretty new, it's beautiful, and it has the kind of elegance that my parents would like. We detected no odor of any kind, which was good because I know that's hard to control when you have people who are incontinent.

While this facility looks modern and well-kept, what is important is how the residents are cared for. My mom has been in memory care for over a year at this facility. She is having difficulty dressing and performing daily hygiene, but there is no assistance with this. The food is below average, and she is loosing interest in food. Previously there was an activity director and they had weekly outings; since the facility changed ownership, this director was fired and a new director posts daily activities, but these are seldom supervised, and outings are rare. The staff has been reduced and has difficulty in keeping up with the number of residents-the most severe cases get the attention. Are there other facilities in this area with better resident care?
