Isle at Raider Ranch was beautiful. They have such a long waiting list to get into assisted living, that it is recommended to go into independent living first so that you are kind of moved to the top of the list when there is an opening in assisted living. For us, they had a lot of opportunities in terms of activities. They had a pool table, dances, live music, and happy hours. Vanessa assisted us with the tour, and she was awesome. All the people there were incredible. They were so nice, helpful, and eager to give you any information that you need. In all honesty, all the residents were walking around with a smile on their faces and they seemed very happy. They also do have a lifestyle option that you can sign up for where you get three meals a day, you can have people come in upon your request to empty the dishwasher, make your bed every day, or fold laundry. If you don't feel like going to the dining room that day, they will bring your food to you. It's kind of in between assisted living and independent living.

I did a tour of the Isle at Raider Ranch. Their staff members were professional and kind. They treated us to lunch and gave us a parting gift, a gift bag. It was fun and the food is good. We toured a one-bedroom that had a southern-facing balcony overlooking a koi pond. It's a beautiful facility. They have a very festive dining area. We ate in the main building. There are two dining areas. There were a lot of people sitting together, socializing, and Christmas music. It was very pleasant. The dining area is set up restaurant style. There were choices on the menu. The grounds are well laid out. It's a large campus, but things are fairly easy to access. Folks were doing Christmas-type activities. We saw a very active schedule of activities. In terms of exercise, they had a full schedule. There was an exercise room and an activities room. There were indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, koi ponds, and a dog park.

Every staff member I met at Isle at Raider Ranch was really sweet, especially the activity director. She was beyond great. The front desk person, Hope, was amazing just to greet people. The tour guide person, personality-wise, was very sweet also. However, I would never go to Isle at Raider Ranch and I will not take my brother there. It was, price-wise, the best-priced facility in Lubbock. The value was wonderful, but they only had shared rooms and the shared rooms were very, very tiny and the closets were outside of their rooms. My brother would not understand why his closet is not in his room. My biggest beef with Isle at Raider Ranch is they don't allow you to come in after 7:00, and if you're there, you have to leave at 7:00. They have very strict hours when you can go in and when you can't. For me, I don't even get off work till 6:30. For somebody who gets off work at 6:30, it doesn't matter how good Isle at Raider Ranch is. It was a deal killer for me. The activity director, Mel, came out and talked to me. She had people in the activity room and they were doing songs. She said sometimes they have dances and sometimes they play games. I saw her doing something with the residents and she was extremely nice. I saw several people come up and talk to her and I could tell the residents liked her. They had a courtyard, which was kind of in the middle of the building, but we didn't go out there. All I saw was the memory care.

We have chosen Isle at Raider Ranch for my mom. She will move in there. My experience with it was very thorough and positive. We have very few questions on what to expect, other than that, hopefully, we'll go in. We did try the food about a year ago. The food was delicious and well-cooked. They had a menu with several selections on it so there's something for everyone, so to speak. They did have several activities going before Covid hit.

I saw the Isle at Raider Ranch. I would give it five stars, but it's more expensive than the other place. It's a very nice facility, new, clean, and well-supported. I would recommend it as long as it meets your budget. They have social gatherings, and in-house community activities. The staff is excellent.
