I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The rooms are quite nice. Both my parents are in the same room. They have been there for almost 3 months now. Very caring staff. They communicate often with me. Dealing with two parents with dementia/alzheimers disease at the same time brings up adittianal challenges and the staff works with me to get creative in coming up with sollutions to provide the best care for them for their individual needs. They are also kind and compassionate.

The tour at Brookdale North Fremont was delightful. The staff was friendly. The place is immaculate and very clean. The staff ratio to the patients is very good. They have lots of activities going on. They have a lovely garden. It is a very nice place. I would recommend that anyone go and see it. All of the rooms have outside windows, so there's lots of light in the room, which is extremely important for memory care. If you have a single room and a double room, you can have some of your furniture. The bathrooms were large and could accommodate a wheelchair. They also had a lady that came in for haircuts, pedicures, and manicures.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Brookdale North Fremont's staff is professional, loving, observant and strives daily to provide the very best care in their community. I selected Brookdale North for my 100-year old mother for its homey feel. Since she has lived there, she has thrived, made friends, participates in activities and loves being on "vacation" as she calls it! I never thought a facility could provide better care for Mom than I and my husband, however, Brookdale North proved me so wrong and I am grateful for their consistent excellent, gentle care of my mother.

Brookdale North Fremont is a perfect size. Whatever your starting point is, if you walked the whole thing, you're going to end up back in the same place because it's sort of built like a round facility. There's no getting lost from going down the wrong hallway, but my sister thought that it was too small. Most of the rooms were shared rooms. There's only a couple of rooms that were single room, but they were very tiny. You only had room for a twin bed and one small nightstand and nothing else that was personally yours if you would have a shared room. I thought the staff was nice and they seemed to have a lot of activities at that place. I love the courtyard because they had a large courtyard that was in the middle, so you could access it from several doors and this building was sort of round. It was like an atrium in the center, which was nice, with beautiful garden and patio tables and stuff. They had areas where the individuals could do some gardening. They had some raised planter beds for those that like to garden and could do stuff like that outside. I liked a lot of that facility. I went there once with my mother just before the pandemic hit, and we toured that place. She was not ready to go to a care facility at that point, now she is. The food we ate there was very good. I like the structure of the facility.

I went to the memory care of Brookdale North Fremont. They had told me that there was a studio available, but when I got there they told me it had been taken, so I didn't know which room my brother would have. The room that I had seen was nice. It's older, but there was room, and it had two storage areas in the closet that he could use. It was in the back, so he wouldn't have direct sun. It was nice. He didn't have access to a refrigerator, but the bathrooms were good sized; he would be able to maneuver in the bathroom. They have a little patio courtyard, kind of like an atrium, in the center. They had a large communal room where they had a dining room, and then off to the side they had the television with some seats. At the entrance of the patio area were some tables that they would use to do activities. Off to the side of that was the nurses' station or medication station. My concern was that the residents would be able to get into that area if they wanted to or if they got upset, because the counters were a little lower, and it seemed like they had a door to access that. It would be so easy for somebody to maneuver to get to use a telephone or get into that area. I just thought that was kind of strange -- that it wouldn't be in an office or something. They didn't really call me back and let me know anything. As far as the room goes, they didn't follow up with me at all. It looked secure. I talked to one of the residents and asked how she felt about the place, and she said, "Well, it's good at times and it's not so good at times." She was a lady who had been there and she has her own room, so when you talk to some of the residents, that's how they feel, but she looks like she was well taken care of. They do have transportation to take them to doctors' appointments.

I took a tour for my mother, and Brookdale North Fremont is the most knowledgeable place that we have come across. They have continually at every turn given us advice. Most of the places we talked to just showed a depth of knowledge and experience that really made a difference, so they've been terrific. The thing about them is, they are memory care only, so they have a bit more depth of knowledge and they have a lower turnover of employees because they are smaller. It's kind of those smaller owned, smaller run situations. My dad really loved the physical design of the building. It has a circular design to it because in our experience (and I guess everybody's experience) is that dementia patients walk in circles, and that's pretty clever. It's just a really great design. It's small and intimate. They have been terrific at every turn, skilled, and up front. They're just really great. They didn't offer us a meal; but when we took the tour, we got to watch the patients eat lunch, which was way more important. We actually got to see the staff in this facility at work, and remember this is during Covid. We had to suit-up in full Ghostbuster's gear, and I thought it was really cool that they did that even during Covid.

I took a tour of Brookdale North Fremont for my mother. It's pretty nice, very clean, and the staff was pretty nice, good, and knowledgeable. They have a hallway where everybody sits, and they play music. There was no activity outside, and when we walked around there was very little space.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My friend’s mother is quite happy at Brookdale in Fremont. She is now in memory support. The staff is very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very good with working with the elderly. It is clean, bright, and very cheerful. There are fresh flowers everywhere, and it is a very pleasant environment. The rooms are very, very spacious and also light. There are plenty of rooms to move about. My friend has been impressed with their personnel who have been very knowledgeable, very professional, and very understanding of what families goes through that are struggling with family members. They have been very helpful.

I was impressed with the layout of Brookdale North Fremont. I would have wanted my husband in there, but they did not have an opening. The staff was very helpful and nice and tried really hard to assist me. The entire facility was very nice.

Brookdale North Fremont seems to be a very good, clean facility. I am moving Dad’s bed, a dresser, and chair into his new bedroom there. It has a more homey-type environment, which is better for him. They advised me that I can put TV in his room. The whole community looks very secure, and his bedroom is so secured that he cannot push his way out of it. The staff who assisted me with the tour seemed very caring, very concerned, and very understanding of what is needed for my dad. I saw that they try to get their residents to participate in the activities.

It was very spacious and very clean. The staff was nice, but my mom did not visit Brookdale; I visited Brookdale. The dining facility was nice, the staff was good, and I just got a really good feeling about the staff there. They had nice-sized bedrooms, and they had a piano room where the residents hang out. I didn't have any problem with it.

Brookdale North Fremont was just not appropriate for my husband's level of care requirements. There were four twin beds to a room. Everything was clean, the people were nice, and the doors were locked, but it was not some place that I would want to be.

Emeritus at Atherton seemed very nice and well run. It was an Alzheimer's memory care place. I liked that they seemed to understand the issues that dementia patients have and they seemed to be caring. The rooms seemed fine, spacious, and easily accessible by wheelchair. I was able to see some activities going on when I was there. I would recommend them to others.

My mother moved to Emeritus last July. The place is very clean. The people there are very caring. They embraced my mother, welcomed her, and made her feel at home. They’re very caring and I’m pleased to find them. She is sharing a room with one other person; they share a bathroom and a sink. She has her bed, a dresser, her own closet, and a near window so she can see out. She’s very comfortable. They have activities everyday like Bingo, they take the residents out for walks, and they have exercise and karaoke nights. They have family nights where families could come and have dinner with their loved ones. They have a newsletter featuring residents. They have different varieties of food, and they accommodate the needs of residents. I would recommend their caring staff and level of commitment to each individual resident. As soon as you get there it’s like they’re your family.

Emeritus at Atherton Court was very nice. The rooms looked beautiful. Everything was very presentable. The staff was helpful during my tour. They even answered every question I had. We went to another community because of budget reasons.

The facility and staff is very warm and inviting for those who visit.. As a strictly memory care provider, their attention is solely on the prosperity and quality of life for the residents. Staff has been none less then professional with a sense of compassion and duty for their tenants. Tons of activities, garden area beauty shop, lounge area, and very well prepared meals and deserts. Money could be a issue for they do charge more than other facilities. Night staff is a blessing and role models for the facility.

My husband is actually at Emeritus at Atherton Court. It's good except for the $5000 a month although I like the facility. I like its freedom and so far I like the way that they treat the residents. With regards to the staff, I haven’t seen anybody I disliked. They do have meals and they give the residents snacks and desserts. The food is adequate.
