As a visitor they allowed me to be hit by one of their residents on 2 different occasions while in 1-1 care. Next day after I got a concussion and neck trauma, my Dad who is a resident, was attacked by the same woman. They made me feel like the bad guy after when I was upset. Not irate and crazy, simply upset that they’re allowing it to take place. Always smells like urine. They don’t help residents change incontinence days on end, walking around with wet bottoms. Can’t ever find someone if you need something. Where is the staff? It’s not safe. Management is terrible. I hope they are thoroughly investigated and either shut down or make drastic needed changes.

Willamette Springs Memory Care was a relatively large facility, and it was all memory care. They arranged lots of activities for the residents. When I was walking around, the residents seemed to be out and about in the hallways and the common spaces a lot. The cleanliness was very good. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very good, informative, and friendly. There were lots of hallways for people to walk and there were some interior courtyards. In the middle was a common area with a kitchen and a seating area. It all seemed very nice and clean.

Before you pay your $2500 community fee, be sure that you have a full understanding of the tiered care system and the associated billing at Willamette Springs Memory Care. Ask specific questions regarding the criteria for each level of care. If not provided, request a copy of your dated and signed contract. Direct care staff is stretched thin by the physical scope of this large, four quadrant building with a 72 bed capacity. The scope of this issue is evident when you review the public record of state licensing violations that took place at this memory care facility in 2017, 2018. New administration (11/2018) informed us that WSMC could no longer meet our Mom's care needs. Ask yourself what you will do and where you will go in Corvallis or the surrounding area when the natural progression of Alzheimer's disease brings your family member to a place of needing assistance with feeding or a two person transfer. No matter which facility you choose, you are entitled to a full disclosure of Oregon Resident Rights from the Department of Human Services.

Mom was a resident for about 1 year at Willamette Springs. We never had a doubt that she was well cared for and loved. When she ended up in Hospice, W.S. took her back and stepped up to the plate! They went beyond our expectations in taking care of her during her last weeks. We have only praise for the excellent administration, medical staff, and care givers that took care of our mom. When my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's we knew that one day he would need more care than we could provide. He lived in another state with only one option and we didn't feel it would be conducive to dads mental and physical well being. As a result, we opted to move him to Oregon, into Willamette Springs. From the time I had initially toured the facility to when we moved him in the pricing structure changed from a known, set price to tiered pricing that no one could seem to explain to my satisfaction. What exact care was he getting and what would we need to do to supplement the care...still not sure to this day. When a room became available, we were unable to move dad until a month later. WS stated that if we wanted the room, we would need to pay rent for the room for that month, but that they would discount the admin fees. I jumped at this as I was worried we'd loose an opportunity to get him in a private room. Recently, another local care providers contacted me to see if we still needed a place for Dad. They stated that they would just request a deposit, which would then be applied to the first months rent. This information leaves me feeling very taken advantage of; as if they preyed on my emotions and concern that we have a place for my dad. When dad passed away, it was all business. I moved his belongings out and handed over the keys. Two people offered their condolences and that was the last I heard from them. At least until a month later when I received a bill for his room. I'm sure it was an error, but confirmed for me that the administration isn't as efficient as the staff providing the care. It's not all bad. Dad really seemed to enjoy interacting the staff and was doing well there. I cannot thank them enough for their care and thoughtfulness. The facility itself seems clean and, as it's relatively new, very well maintained. The outside garden and fountain area is really lovely. If you are considering this facility for your loved ones care, ask lots of questions and visit different facility's. Make sure they can explain to your satisfaction their pricing and what exact care they provide and, more importantly, what they don't do. It's really NOT all inclusive. However, I feel that the staff providing the care really do 'care'. Although, that seems to have a pretty high turn-over. Regardless, Administration side has a lot of room for growth. Finally, with any facility you do choose...check in on their licensing through DHS and see if they've had any recent violations.

Our impression of Willamette Springs ended up being poor. My friend wasn't getting the care they needed. The staff turnover was so high that his care needs were not getting relayed between the turnover among the staff. There had been personal items that had disappeared from his room. It was not a good situation. The cleanliness was average at best, and the food was good. They had lots of activities, but my friend didn't participate in them.
